i met Bob in Nov in 1989,i got sober due to his article he did with Mitch Albom in Nov 1987.he challenged me to that he would stay sober longer.it was a challenge i hold to this day.i attended his funeral.10 yrs af,his ex teammmateter we met chance would have us meet on my 1st day working at Compuware Arena,his 1st works in front of the boss was-are you clean...shocking me and my new boss-his ex teammate.that he recalled me after such a time warmed my heart.his father died on my 21at bday .

I would've liked to have met Bob. I used to make references to him all the time on YouBeenX.com, and I posted a long message about him there when I heard he'd died. I could link you to it if you want, or maybe one day I'll put it on my YouTube channel. I don't know.

Now this one has some class, yes he was the "enforcer" but a real cool dude..Very nicely done...Still love watching him fight though...He was the NHL heavyweight champ..Detroit will never forget the way you protected your teammates...RIP BOB...I still carry a heavy heart for you and your family....
