This will always be one of my favorite films. However, this film represents a period of time in my life. My 1st serious relationship was with a guy a lot like "David." He was a few yrs older, sexy & fun, but he was fucking psycho, possessive & abusive! This came out in '96, when I was just realizing how crazy he was. By then, I was already in too deep & literally living in FEAR. I am sure a lot of girls have dated men like David. I feel lucky that I was able to escape. Many aren't so lucky.
I don't get why she is so scared in that scene in the restroom at the mall. At that point she only knows that he cheated on her, but she does not know about the tattoo or the fact that he has killed Gary yet, or anything like that. She just knows he did her best friend. So why is she sreaming for help? Even in that scene he was so damn sexy. So at that point, what was her problem?
@NYtoTX She hadn't just seen David "cheating" on her. David basically forced himself on her best friend. Rape is clearly implied. Even if David hadn't forced himself on Margo, the fact that he would screw Nicole's best friend is reason enough to hate the douchebag! She witnessed an ugly, evil side to David that had aboslutely ZERO respect for women. I agree, David was sexy during the entire film. It doesn't negate the fact that he was insane and dangerous.

The rape thing is controversial. I know she was high but she put up not ONE ounce of fight, and I believe that somewhere in her heart she was jealous of Nicole and wanted to stick it to her. Recall the scene when she is flashing her ass to her "best friend's" father. That was meaningful. Could have left it out.

Of Coarse we all know what happened. she later ended up with Philip... which didn't work out. Mark however is married and been with the same person for over a decade. Actually he wasn't about to rape here at that part, you gotta hear what he's saying to her to get what was going on. He was covering her mouth so she couldn't scream for help because at that point, she had already dumped him and started realizing how much of a psycho he was.

okay well this is kinda the summary. reese falls inlove with mark who is secretly... evil? he rapes women and stuff like that. reese's father gets suspicious. when she breaks up with mark after he beat up reese's guy friend, he goes ballistic and obsessive

@AsiatheContinent Mark and Reese during the movie actually dated. He purposed to her when she was only 14. Of Coarse we all know what happened. she later ended up with Philip... which didn't work out. Mark however is married and been with the same person for over a decade. You should check out Entourage it chronicles his life.

okay he meets her at a club and then he loves her so much he goes crazy.she tells him her password to get into her house(for some crazy reason)then they have sex.they he cheats on her and she dumps him. then he goes crazy and goes into her house and kills her dog and her and then her dad(somehow)throws him out on the window and he dies.

Actually he wasn't about to rape here at that part, you gotta hear what he's saying to her to get what was going on. He was covering her mouth so she couldn't scream for help because at that point, she had already dumped him and started realizing how much of a psycho he was.

nah, she didnt die, he came to her house killed the pet dog with his friends and tried to kill her dad, and then him and the dad get into a fight, nicole stabs him while they're fighting, and in the end the dad throws david out the bedroom window and thats how david dies.
