@SITS69 I installed the GTA car pack in 3 minutes. As for drivers that's 5 minutes every couple of months.

Also PC's may cost more, but the games are cheaper. I bought GTA IV with both expansion packs for £4. It's still £15-£20 on Xbox/PS3.

Not to mention the horseshit one has to go through with getting your PC 'right' with settings, etc. I don't have time for that anymore. I just want to put a disc in and play when I have that spare 45 minutes. I don't want to be reading forums about high-res mod-patch settings.

Installing GTA IV car pack takes about 3 minutes. The cars look brilliant.

As for getting PC right, you just do that once per game, 2 minutes.

Icehancer is an amazing mod, i play this sometimes just to relax, a nice relaxing drive with the taxi mod, everything on max, listen to my own songs on independent radio. It's amazing how realistic and beautiful it is, all the colourful light effects at night like glare and the glorious ambient occlusion in the daytime making everything look 'real'.

It tests my (6970, I7 8GB Ram) to it's limits.

As to games, I usually buy most of my PC games during sales. Cyber Monday(After Black Friday), Christmas Sales, New Years Sales. Skyrim was $30, GTA complete (had 1, 2. 3. Vice, SA, IV, IV: Episodes) was $13, and so on.

@Merland5 plus you can play older games on your PC. I can still play games that were from DOS era on the PC, some have been released through Steam as well. ie Monkey Island. Then you have things like joysticks and wheels which still work. No need to buy new controllers every console gen.

Plus console games are a rip-off, they're twice as expensive as the PC version. That £20 every time will soon close the gap between console and the cost of upgrading a office PC to a gaming PC.

I was stating that current generation consoles hardware is weak in comparison to a PC, and thus the developer must develop the game to work well on a console. It's where the money is at, and if that means that a PC port is not going to get as much content as is possible, well so be it. If consoles were more powerful, then the games would be made to focus on much better hardware, and thus more detailed content can be used in the game.

@ELREndLondonRule The GPU's in the PS3/Xbox 360 are way behind the ones available for PC's. On consoles they just about handle 720p resolution, and cannot output at 1080 or higher. This is where PC's take over, high resolutions, with Anti-Aliasing, higher resolution textures, and multi-screen.

So are the plain textures. Now they can't be arsed console versions are just ported to PC, so why bother with extra graphical content?

Enjoy my consoles as well just that PC's do more, not just gaming. I wish Forza 4 could be on the PC.

@DaveK183 For one, these graphics weren't around in 2007/2008. But also, as you can see, this mod only works on super computers lol. Both sales and reviews would be negatively affected. Battlefield 3 is probably the closest that games have gotten to this in terms of graphics and gotten great sales/reviews. And even then, you have to install a ton of other crap for it to work right.

@IAMSHUGO Thanks for explaining to me. I think graphic designers should more economise with some effects etc., for example baked textures are good. If you render some model in 3ds, then engine in game does not have to calculate ssao... and it looks perfect.
