@stopatnothen There is no open flame but it is still possible for the grill heat to be uneven. Rotating it is just a good way to make sure everything cooks evenly.
Cool how you used the side burner on the gas grill to start the charcoal! Just be sure to keep it away from the house and deck rail. I want to do this in my Weber using a hardwood fire with a mix of oak and apple, ( firepit style) but I'm not sure the Weber will handle the higher heat this method will generate.
I must be the only person on the planet who has failed to get good results with this pizza stone. I would be interested in corresponding with anyone who uses the stone with a Weber "Performer" grill or any grill with a built-in thermometer. Thanks.
@RedSkyGrillGuy I bought a D stone and weber grill because of this video. I had been using the oven and a stone made by the same people and liked the results, but using the grill allows for higher temps and better results. Calzones next and then stromboli.
man i was just thinking about if this was possible the other day, because you can get the grill way hotter than your home oven. mine at least. pizza ovens are set at about 650 and i might be able to get my grill that high. im assuming that it'll almost mimic a pizzeria bake... which will just about motivate me enough to drop a chunk of cash on a grill stone. awesome video.
@thedeadbeats Thanks for the comments, we appreciate it. Our pizza comes out just like a pizzeria bake, and with the wood smoke generated from the wood chunk, it makes for the best pizza you've ever had. We ship each stone with a complimentary chunk of pecan.
@maslabud Yes, you can, but the cooking instructions are radically different. We offer the Grilled Pizza Stone so people can make fantastic, wood-smoked pizza on their outdoor grills with a crispy crust and melted, bubbling cheese.
@RedSkyGrillGuy really? so i can't get a wood-smoked pizza on my outdoor grill with a crispy crust and melted, bubbling cheese if i decide to just throw it on the grill?
do you sell the pizza stones because if you do that would make perfect sense why you decided to tell me that
Watching this when I am so hungry is not a good idea

Wy wood you rotate a pizza when there is no flame..don't make any sence...never here of some then so idotic,,E gads
stopatnothen 1 year ago
@stopatnothen There is always a hotter side of a grill so rotating the pizza ensures even cooking.

@maslabud use bricks with holes...otherwise you might burn it to death.
I use it, and like it a lot.

The Grilled Pizza Stone measures 20.5"x16.5"x.56". It fits most grills, both charcoal and gas.

do they have smaller pizza stones?
