@BlackHawkGaming The reason a lot of people don't like Shattered Memories is because it completely changed some character's around and went against all the previously established canon of the series. Of course it was okay to do that with it being a "re-imaging", but that's the problem a lot of people had with it. That, and it wasn't that hard or scary or anything, when it's supposed to be survival horror.

I know what you're saying. I like SH 4, but there are times you charge up the swing momentium meter only to have Henry full on swing and miss an enemy. If you can get past that, then it's not so bad. I think some people complained about the "lacking" combat abilities in the past SH games, so they tried something different. But some people can never be happy...I thought the past games had fine combat considering you played as a normal person.

Silent Hill one was the best. Then after the 1st one... Silent Hill 2 was a psychological horror game...so it screws with your mind. Silent Hill 4 was an all out Horror game in every sense of the word...it screws with your body's impulses not to shit yourself when you jump at something shocking on screen. Loved this tune. The whole game you are hunted by that cock Walter. Then this song plays and you're like, "My penis is bigger than your's Walter! I'm gonna find yo' punk ass, bitch!!!"

@thetrophyone yeah, but that game is literally impossible to enjoy because how fucked up the combat system was. after Silent Hill 4, i haven't enjoyed silent hill since. i have every silent hill in its original form. meaning, the release that mattered the most. like 0rigins on PSP, and Shattered Memories on the Wii. but ever since then, Dead Space is probably the only horror game i enjoyed the most, even if it wasn't scary (but then again, no horror game in the last 6 years was scary).

@brandenlucero Also, yeah, there hasn't been anything that scary in past years. I played "Obscure 2" with my girlfriend, and that had some good parts, but it seemed more like a video game version of a B horror movie. Still liked it though. The only game that scared me somewhat was "Siren: Blood Curse" on the PS network. A friend of mine invited me to play it and navigating the hospital as the little girl and getting caught caused me to flip the shit. But I hated the story and controls very much.

@thetrophyone silent hill should go back to having a sh*tty combat system, or a combat system that is fair to both the controlled character and the enemy. silent hill isn't gonna be able to recover unless something magnificent happens. it doesn't even have to be scary either. the composer quit, Team Silent is gone, yeah, its gonna have a hell of a time recovering. with Yamaoka, Suda 51, and the creator of RE joining to create Shadows of the Damned, let's hope it makes up for the past mistakes.

I just hope that this game doesn't suck. The last game, Shattered Memories, was cool...more depressing than anything to me. But the whole game I walked around EXTREMELY bored with nothing to do but take pictures and run when a chase came up. It could have been better. I like combat but not the completely action oriented stuff.

@MissyxMayhem silent hill has really degraded in quality. the graphics and monsters are always a great sight, as well the atmosphere and the level design. but its always so action-oriented. its like everything always trying to be like RE4. hell, even RE5 screwed up big time, and left Dead Space to be a way better game, even if lacks any replay value (which was fine with me, that game didn't really need it all too much). Shattered Memories lacks combat, in the wrong way.
