I remember this day. I drive coal trains and thanks to these idiots I got the biggest bludge day ever. Sat around at Mount Arthur mine for hours with our feet on the dashboard watching movies. We told control that the cow catcher on the front of the train would take care of these people on the track, but he wouldn't let us leave, so instead they had to send a few 4WD's from Newcastle to get us so we could go home. So TBH this protest fucked the earth up more If CO2 is bad.

I was there & it was bloody great. Maximum respect to the organising crew. As we heard from some of the locals (including coal miners), there are many reasons why a large portion of the local community is opposed to the expansion of the coal industry in the Hunter Valley.

These are dark times when Australian governments can claim to be taking action on climate change, whilst expanding the export coal industry. We need to transition to renewables as fast as we possibly can, reducing the concentration of Carbon in the atmosphere from 389 parts per million to a safe level of 350 parts per million and below. To do this we must stop digging up fossilised Carbon ASAP.
