Excellent Rendition. I cannot understand why many lovers of great vocal music claim Mario Lanza as the "greatest" of them all. Have they ever heard of Bjorling,
what a beautyful voice of this man! Never heard about him before. There´s is something in his voice hat remind me to Bjorling. I first listened this song by Georges Thill... and I think that´s why remains my top performance of this song. But this tenor is veeeeryyy goood! WHat laguage is this? Not french and not sounds like from Russia
Yes, you are certainly right! There is an occasional reminder of Jussi Bjoerling and maybe also of Peter Anders? However, this is a distinctive and very attractive voice in its own right.
Yes, that too is also beautifully sung, as are many other fine versions, such as those from Georges Thill, Richard Crooks, Peter Anders, Richard Tauber, and the splendid one in English by Mario Lanza.
He sang this song in Hungarian language, József /Joseph/ Réti was an excellent Hungarian opera singer. He lived in 1925-75

Also I must add Sergei Lemeshev, an outstanding russian tenor! He is as good as anybody.

A most enjoyable rendition. Each artist brings something personal to his interpretation. This has been but one of them. Many thanks for posting.

It's Hungarian. And it is not the best that this great singer-musician (1925-1973) knew. His Mozart and Bach (St. John evangelist) is the top.

his Dalla sua pace is superb!

@Andras53 but he sings with a vocal school which was during Caruso and before--old Italian bel canto.

Réti József volt szerintem a legnagyobb magyar tenor! Köszönöm ezt felvételt! :)
