@phraedusthamusicdigr moses got chicken arms but he was a beast down the paint..size dont matter cuz...but skills do....shaq cant even score without going to the basket...and shaq dont make freethrows bro...
very very true, but shaq wasn't in his prime when he was dominated ! And hakeem didn't dominate with his strenght, but rather with footwork and positioning, knowing how to use his lower body, exactly like moses !
@stere0brain well,Wilt never fouled out at all,it would be interesting to know if Mo ever fouled out.....if he fouled out early in his carreer he could still make the record because he played 7 years more than Wilt....
@warheart999 dunno. He was in the ABA like 2 or 3 years.
There was rumors about how great he was but who could ever know? The ABA was just never on tv.
One time Wilt was a half-time guest at a NBA game. Wilt told that announcer off - he said something like "the only center in the world that can argue with Kareem about who is the best is a guy in the ABA named Moses Malone.
But nobody can know about him because you don't ever show ABA games on TV. WHY IS THAT?"
@bettydaw1970 They guy was basically the greatest athlete of his time, maybe more (google "wilt chamberlain high jump" and just look at the sheer awesomeness of the 1st picture), but he was well known to miss practices.
He was, like, a Greek Half-God, so he didn't really need to train to play 50 minutes a night as the best player in the world.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Robert Parish, Moses Malone and Kevin Willis each played for 20 years or more. They showed us that the age is nothing but a number. It's just a state of mine.
Notice that all these players that played 20+ years were all big men. I would love to see a guard play that many years. Lindsey Hunter was came close last year with 17 years under his belt. Unfortunately though, the Chicago Bulls cut him.

Yeah, you right. I forgot about that. You know what I think? I think that Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd and Steve Nash will play close to 20 years too. Its a possibility. What do you think?
@najeenixonnixon Yeah, I agree. Kobe is starting to have some health problems though, so maybe he'll retire in a couple of years, while the Lakers are still contenders. Kidd has already played for 16, and he can play for a couple more for sure. His size really helps him here, I feel. And Nash? If he had a team to play with, rather than playing for all of his teammates like he does now, he could play for like 6 or 8 years more, he's freaking ageless! Grant Hill is also a possibility.
For four to five years he was the greatest center ever in the NBA. Yahh better than Jabbar, Wilt, Walton etc. Russell is probably the only one better.
there're 3 types of center: shaq, wilt = physical dominance; kareemduncanOlajuwon = finess; russell,Malone = willpowerworkethics; Its not that strange to believe that will power might be just as important as physical or intellectual, if not more
@thegreatestchallenge Wilt really wasn't a physical player. He was a high leaping center with unorthodox nice tough. Under the basket he was unstoppable because of his size, and leaping ability. Shaq is a banger. Very physical player who made good use of his weight.
Moses was a rebounding machine.

Mo actually holds the record for most consecutive games without fouling out. Not even Chamberlain played as many games without fouling out.
Both those guys were terrifically physical in the paint but knew the game to such a exquisite perfection they very seldom fouled.

@stere0brain Exactly you don't see many work horses like Wilt, Wes Unseld, Moses and the other physical guys of the 70s and 80s NBA.

@mookeychase0907 Wilt WAS NOT a work horse. He never woke up before noon or went to much practice before his last few years with LA.

Moses Malone? Someone once said about him: One-day, he's going to go-up for a rebound, and come down with someones's head! Moses is a bad dude.
