It could be. ;-) There was no specific design in mind. We just modelled something that worked with the character design.

We did it for fun, but we also did it as a test case for toon shaded rendering in a software package called Animation:Master. We were playing around with ways to stylize 3D animation.

Noticed a lot of similarity from Zelda: Wind Waker in the scenery. The whitecaps of the waves, the shape of the island, (which looked remarkably like Dragon Roost island), and the boat. (king of red lions anyone?) Otherwise, fantastic video. Great animation, good fight, creative characters, and enjoyable humor. 9/10
