I'm curious if there was Parental Alienation Syndrome on Stacy L's part that led to the whole fiasco. I'm not saying everything done by the county was good, right, or lawful, but I'm wondering why the father has not even seen his son in many years. Even with possible supervised visitation a father should have contact with his son, period. There is more to the story obviously and is a classic case of harboring unforgiveness.
@athaskins I attended the custody hearing. The father did not want to be involved with his son. He moved out of state three years ago and stopped contact. That is, until he "magically" reappeared to seek custody. Imagine just turning up like that when the heat is on corrupt Fort Collins city officials.

Attorneys in CA are required to do a certain amount each year. Pro bono is not necessarily appointed - we do it because we care and we lose money on every case. We do a lot of family law, review 730 evalus ordered, and deal with child protective services.

I'm curious if there was Parental Alienation Syndrome on Stacy L's part that led to the whole fiasco. I'm not saying everything done by the county was good, right, or lawful, but I'm wondering why the father has not even seen his son in many years. Even with possible supervised visitation a father should have contact with his son, period. There is more to the story obviously and is a classic case of harboring unforgiveness.

Attorneys in CA are required to do a certain amount each year. Pro bono is not necessarily appointed - we do it because we care and we lose money on every case. We do a lot of family law, review 730 evalus ordered, and deal with child protective services.
