  • i wouldn't bet money racing if i were you

  • wow look look at the straight away. Open er up all the way!!

  • It's amazing how fast some vehicles slow down when running 150-200mph and they let off! Lol

  • oh wow, musta been a 600 vs a 900....

  • GOOD & COOL !!!!

  • you can work the throttle in time with a shift and it'll click threw nice and smooth, saying that though im talking to when your grabbing a handfull otherwise the first 2 gears can be a little ruff.

  • holy ballsack thats fast!!!!

  • i like that little throttle pull he gives at :34 passing the other dude

  • people are saying "you don't have to use the clutch to up-shift" - what really? I always thought bikes had a mechanism that meant you had to otherwise you couldn't up-shift at all ... I've only been riding for a year now so yes, I'm still kinda new

  • nice

  • great video

  • dioooos!!!!!!!

  • sleeping?

  • It appears only one of them was racing. The other was just getting his ass kicked.

    lmao.

  • very good

  • Suicide bike

  • no saves que es el sarcasmo -.-

  • son millas por hora! pastel!!

  • 177 KM/H? xDDDDDDDDD MANUELITA

  • Son millas por hora animal!

  • 177 Mph! = 285 Kmh

  • hehe you loose

  • can that ruin anything on a motorcycle if you don't use the clutch?

  • On a sportbike it's actually harder on the transmission when you use the clutch at speed to up-shift, so no, it won't ruin anything.

For smooth downshifts, blip the throttle (open it slightly to raise the RPMs - opposite of what you do when speed-shifting up gears) and simultaneously clutch and downshift.

When you up/down-shift properly it'll feel like you're riding a bike with automatic transmission - smooth as butter.

  • but you have to relase the throttle, right?

  • Not fully. Here's how u do it:

    1) At speed, preload the shifter with your foot by applying pressure as if you're going to up-shift.

2&3) Cut the throttle slightly (about 25%); don't close it completely. At the same time, apply pressure to the shifter to snick it into the next gear.

    4) Get back on the throttle.

The first few times you try this, do it from 2nd to 3rd gear so you don't have to worry about neutral. If you're not in your bike's powerband you'll probably need to slip the clutch.

  • On my 04 Gixxer 600, the powerband starts around 6k RPM, but I still clutch it unless I'm around 8k+ RPM. When I say clutch it, I don't mean pull the clutch all the way in. Use the same technique I described but add a slight, pull of the clutch and quick release when changing gears to smooth it out.

I almost always do this going from 1st to 2nd, unless I'm revving it to 10/11k+ in 1st, otherwise it feels kinda jerky.

Practice makes perfect. It is really easy. It only looks complex on paper.

  • Not completely. You're just cutting back the throttle a hair (really, you barely need to cut the throttle, especially when you get a feel for it) and then getting right back on it after you shift.

You're never closing the throttle completely.

  • fun vibrations lol

  • bikes??

  • What is it with you straight line junkies not being able to change gear properly??

  • man he was jetting like a track bike

  • dang that first bike smoked yea

  • haha u done mate the other guy got better bike ;P

  • I need some1 to talk2... hit me up on my msn live messenger id jane23belle F

  • you got served!!!

  • 5/5 for the reflection of the rider on the guage faces. Very cool, theatrical effect.

  • Some bikes are designed with a syncronizer and automatic electric throttle cut out so the clutch is not required on full-throttle shifts.

  • 04r1 rules i bet ur bike is all fucked up shows u cant ride u dont even use ur clutch but hey if u wanna fucj ur tranny up do that dont clutch

  • fer crying out loud...do you even ride? motorcycles all have constant mesh sequential trannys...if you know what you're doing you don't even need the clutch. on super hard take offs i never use it, it's just a waste of time and unnecessary wear and tear.

  • Ricer flyby anyone?

  • Yeah, so you are a horrible shifter bro... Don't touch that clutch!!! He pulled away from you everytime you up-shifted...

  • so this guys bike is slow he should trade it in first chance he gets

  • was that the brake light on the other bike

Jus kidding, nice run. NO clutch next time! How did you pay the speeding fine?

  • No clutch? how does that work :S

  • You don't need the clutch to change up - just wastes time - press against the change lever, back the throttle off slightly, and it goes in all on it's own!

  • true i never use the clutch to sjift on a dirt bike i just let off the throttle a tad.

  • better luck next time

  • Had to watch it again. Nice one guys.
