I am not a supporter of PETA, but I think you guys are blowing their statement out of proportion. Sure, there is no harm in allowing the groundhog to stay, but there is also no harm in replacing him with a robotic groundhog either. In fact, the robotic ground hog would actually be less expensive in the long run because it would eliminate the cost of bedding, food, etc. needed by the living animals. Just a thought.

I am vegan although not a member of PETA. It's true a high percentage of what PETA does is to get publicity. Let's not forget their "got beer"campaign saying kids should drink beer rather than milk. Of course I am against milk but beer instead?

As far as all the animals PETA has put down, that is hyped up and taken out of context. These are animals that are unadoptable and would otherwise be put down inhumanely at an animal shelter otherwise. Although I still don't agree with PETA there.

They have calves and when that happens both the mother and calf scream as they are separated. The calves then become veal. After 2-3 years the dairy cow is slaughtered because it can not produce more milk because it has been so used up.
