  • Great song but not metal

  • Grat song but not metal

  • When does the "metal" start?

  • Great song by great goths~<3

  • It´s a very nice song

  • Rather than trying to insert random mindsless genre questions why not use a simple adjective set. Electronic, Pounding, symphonic, earthy, vocal.

The nice thing about I:S is that they really do span multiple cookie cutter genres, and there is always a song of theirs to fit your mood.

  • Amazing song!! Just noticed a commercial on facebook (that I usually NEVER click) for this band. However, this one was quite promising, mentioning TBM etc, and this song definitely lives up to the expectations :)

  • @Agnosis100 Same!! Haha :L

  • @Agnosis100 Yeah same!

  • @Agnosis100 yeah i just clicked on that too, i usually never even look at them. apart from one which was advertising a bagbiper 'for all my bagpiping needs' lol

  • @Agnosis100 I saw Emilie Autumn out of the corner of my eye and didn't think twice. However, I was expecting a little more industrial. (More techno than expected)

  • I <3 these x

  • how old is the singer????

  • There's some weird sound glitch, scratchy sound when I listen to it.

  • @Trisscarr Yeah I'm sorry about that, I'm not sure what happened.

  • @IFocusOnThePain i dont remember it being there last time i listened to irt

  • @Trisscarr It's because the song's bitrate is so low. It sounds like it's about 64kbps at most.

  • First Time Hearing Them! The Song Sounds Beautiful :D

  • Their new album rocks my sox!

  • there are so many bands and artists out there who are so much better talented then the ones who come out with the usual stuff and those bands and artists are not often seen and recognized for their originality and how unique they are but they deserve to be heard. this band is one of them.

  • This is industrial.

  • At Maligno1000: I saw them live on halloween and they were amazing. Brittany sounds just like she does on the album, and that's a rare talent for a singer these days.

In general: They are also ALL very nice in person. They spent time hanging with people after the show. I also had some merch I wanted signed, but one member was elsewhere in the venue. They actually tracked him down and had him sign my stuff! NO ONE else I've met was THAT nice!

  • DjMorglith - the only band I've ever had be that nice at a show (note: I haven't caught I:Scintilla live yet) was Modern Day Zero.

I was at a show with a couple friends (MDZ, Skindred, and Breaking Benjamin) and got seperated during Skindred after having been pulled off the front row by a mosh pit. I eventually got out of the churning crowd and ran into the singer of MDZ. He invited me over, paid for a round of drinks, gave me a CD, and gathered all the guys in the band to sign it.

  • Jimmy Urine from MSI was also really nice in person. Lacuna Coil used to be nice but they seem to have gotten swept up in the "yeah hi thanks for coming bye" attitude major artists often suffer from.

  • omg i love the lyrics

  • It sounds like a curse or something but i love it!! ^,..,^

  • This was the first song I ever heard from I:Scintilla! Sooo Awesome!

  • she was on JBtv live at 3:oo am and she sang this song and it was amazing now look at her famous

  • usually.. i don't like songs dealing with religions.. but this song rawks...... *singing along by now* (btw, this is BB)

  • ItsumoSeppun4 is right, we all do sin, and god is all forgiving, i believe that

  • I got hooked on this band from listening to 'Scin' on a local radion station...the female vocalist has a gorgeous voice, I like. *nods in approval*

  • Awesome.

  • i love this song but it sounds like a curse...... :D still love it

  • nice song. the girl with da hat is really hot lol

  • Awesome song! The main voice reminds me of cristina scabbia (which is one of the greatest voices in the world so yes that is a compliement :)

  • Lacuna Coil x I:Scintilla?

    Amazing mix, wouldn't it be?

  • i love this song <3

  • Except of course that even Catholics believe the only way to Heaven is through Christ. I should know, my grandfather was raised Catholic as was my fiance'.

  • I'm Methodist (actually non-denominational) and I belive that as long as Christ is in my heart and obey and trust in him that I KNOW I'm going to heaven. :))

  • there it is.

  • ?????

  • I think it's just a song about organized religion in general and the way it makes people think and/or feel that they're less than they are and that no matter what they do they'll never be good enough. My mother was raised Baptist and she heard constantly that God loved her but no matter what she did she was going to go to hell because she was a sinner. Hence why neither she nor I are a part of any organized religion. We prefer to be spiritual and not have someone else tell us what to believe.

  • your comment has more words that the song(lol).... but your right, but religion is diffent for everyone some think this and some think that but does it really matter as long as we live

  • Your mother is not going to hell becuase she sins, we all do, that's why God shows us forgivness as long as we repent. All that stupid stuff people say about their being no salvation is a lie. They just dont want to except it. Trust me as long as your mother has Christ in her heart and trusts in him, she's going to be in heaven rejoicing. Don't let those lies hurt you :))

  • "I went to God just to see \ and I was looking at me, yeah \ saw heaven and hell were lies \ when I'm God everyone DIES."

    No salvation, no forgiveness. :)

  • what are saying? That only confused me ?:(

  • i love this song

  • Cool Song

  • Oh, I love the lady in front's dress. I'd wear that. =)

  • Catholicism is a branch of Christianity, albeit a highly-paganized, self-righteous, and particularly corrupt one. They're not "completely different." Catholicism tends to rely heavily on (bad) tradition, which makes it seem more obtuse with the times. Catholicism is particularly relevant within the context of this song since it has traditionally been the most harmful offspring of Christianity (the Inquisition and political ties to Mussolini during WWII = just a microcosm of its impact).

  • What's the diffence between the two?

  • what about "they say you need guilt to be good, your brothers all remain blameless, hearts of snares and nets, hands as bands, classified as a nameless mass"?

P.S. thanks u really helped my understanding of the song.

  • megan, the song is primarily concerned with the sufferings of women at the hands of the christian church. "they say you need guilt to be good" and "they say in you lives an eve" both pertain to women. womankind was formed [in christian mythology (yes, mythology)] with the form and faults of eve - physically similar and subject to the same inherently sinful nature. this is also implied in the play-on-words title (cursive eve = eve applying a "curse", also the day before the curse)

  • "your brothers all remain blameless" refers to the clear preferential treatment that the christian church has traditionally given to men. men are allowed to act as representatives of god on earth (catholic church), whereas women are traditionally seen as a vulgar temptation. the hearts of snares/hands as bands refers metaphorically to the "stranglehold" that the christian church has held on women over the years. the nameless mass is the collective term for women, as perceived by the church

  • ..."nameless," of course, referring to their collective irrelevance contrasted with male dominance within the context of the church

  • the song doesn't really "mean" anything specifically; rather, it's rooted in themes about God, hypocrisy, subservience, and the general falsehood of Christianity and its followers and leaders. from there, it means whatever you take from it; for me, it's that the band is disenchanted with Christianity and perceives it to be self-righteous, politicially driven, psychologically harmful, and generally rooted in and continued by lies

  • What about "must thy sorrow multiply, thy conception in sorrow, thou shall live in the silence with all subjection?"

  • stiefmegan, i won't lie, i don't know for sure about that verse. conception refers to birth, and "conception in sorrow" is again about original sin - you are born with the sorrow of sin and you cannot be redeemed from it and saved from hell unless you are baptized with holy water. "sorrow multiply" is how original sin was spread from eve to all humanity - eve paid the price (sorrow inflicted by God by putting her in Limbo until Jesus died on the cross) and so does everyone else upon birth

  • thus, the sorrow is multiplied from eve to humanity. "thou shall live in the silence with all subjection" refers to, essentially, being the church's bitch --> the silence is metaphorical for ignorance and subservience. "subjection" is the act of submitting to an authoritative structure, so that reinforces my argument. hope this helps.

  • finally, "cursive lie" is a bit tough, but i think it refers to the Catholic interpretation of the Bible - the Bible being the lie, the "cursive" being the interpretation of it by the Catholic Church. If you guys want to know what any other lyrics in this song mean, let me know. I was brought up Catholic, so this stuff reads easily for me.

  • "you're claimed as unclean property" and "they say in you lives an Eve" both refer to original sin, the catholic idea that Eve's sin is inherited by all humanity upon birth. "kneel, and you will not be scared to die" is ironic - it's meant literally to imply that kneeling (subjection) to God reaps eternal reward (heaven), but it's ironic due to the context of the rest of the chorus. "dogs...drink you dry" is the church leaders preying upon the faithful

  • song draws heavily on christianity. "you were born wrapped in the pages, the words bind your mind and body" = "the pages" are of the bible (thin paper), and briefly this verse is about being brought up in a brainwashed christian family."don't look down on me, i don't look up." = sort of a double entendre, God is condescending and "looks down on us," he also looks down from the heavens; brittany sings about how she doesn't look up = doesn't look up to the heavens/doesn't believe or submit to God
