  • in then end probably half of them voted for WP. the irony...

  • this time round LTK never lead and only the last rally got pledge reciting in English lead by Pritam Singh. Never felt so patriotic in my life. hope to recite in Chinese and lead by LTK.

  • I take everything said at all rallies with a pinch of salt.

I believe in seeing with my own eyes, listening with my own ears and I use rational judgement to determine who I want to vote for. It will not be easy to win me over just by delivering emotionally charged speeches peppered with sarcasm. I am never psyched out by such political rhetoric.

  • I think at the next election, the government will cite safety reasons and restrict the crowd to 300 per rally. Or they will ban open rallies entirely and let each party deliver election speeches every night on TV. They will say that in the digital media age, open air rallies are outdated.

  • @8zz8 alamak! dont say out lah! sekali they saw what u said and do how? but i think LKY still got this rally thingy. he love it bcos he used to win crowd and elections by holding successful rallies.

  • stands up for singapore!

  • This doesn't seem achievable by the PAP or even the PM. I feel more unity in this than national day.

  • THE DEATH OF TYRANT PAP.

A NEW BEGINNING - PEOPLE POWER!

  • Wow! Full house...

  • See the way Singaporeans stand up against foreign invasion and internal betraying politicians (who go round selling lands to foregin investors and opening the fortress gate to allow invaders to enter daringly), I think our beloved ruling leaders' shit also come out (chua sai) and piss wetting their bedsheets.

  • 8 ppl didnt get to enter the stadium to recite the pledge.

  • Support the opposition!

  • wake up fellow singaporeans under pap we will fight against each other while the foreigners laugh all the way to the bank!!!

  • we need more worker party lawyer in the parliament.

  • This is MASSIVE man!!! It's even better than watching a live concert!!!

  • Dream Leader? Has he led a country before may I ask? or just in your dreams? Although I respect him and his effort, please be real.

  • @funkmonkpunk but he has done remarkaly well over the years unlike many of the pap ministers hav to say.

  • This is imopressive, Singapore is a democratic state, it is our right to vote and our vote shall determine the future of this country and i sees hope in this coming election to evolve into a 1st World Parliament with addition opposition parties especially the WP candidates. The balance and check must be install.

  • I now remember Tan Chuan Jin talking about how he organized NDP and how he pioneered the simultaneous Singapore pledge. Well, his beloved pledge contains the farcical word "democracy", which his very party has denied SG through GRC/gerrymander... In contrast, a pledge led by LTK has the true resonance of democracy. THIS IS WHAT A DEMOCRATIC PLEDGE SHOULD BE LIKE! :)

  • Who are the 3 throlls?

  • @lynnkueh88 lky, lhl and gct DUH

  • i used to believe in pap but i think they hav lost the humility.some of the policies they put in place like housing and foreign workers really gone too much

  • low thia khiang of the workers party is every singaporeans" dream leader.

vote for the workers party this may 7th, 2011 !

  • Teach PAP a lesson? Pls don't waste our time!

  • Comment removed

  • @clb012669 Yes, PAP rallies need more supporters. Only 300 in each PAP rally. But opposition rallies had 30,000 supporters.

  • Workers' Party!

  • this is democracy ??? emotion over logic ???

  • @sgtle2 It's a rally.

  • @sgtle2 It is the logical realization that we are on the brink of social change that makes people emotional - not the other way around. When you have been living within the confines of a pseudo democracy for this long, it's hard not to get a little emotional over some minute sense of liberation - as potentially paradoxical as it might eventually turn out to be.

  • @AstroninjaTV minute sense of liberation is dangerous especially when the pros and cons are not clearly deliberated.

  • @sgtle2 I'm a current Ph.D. candidate in matters of history and politics, so I do know what I'm talking about. It has been clearly deliberated. It is just not clearly understood by the masses.

  • My Family was on holiday, and we watch it on youtube than,

We all was so moved, and we tell ourself, we got to vote in the next election.

We been keeping watch on 2011 election news. and yes we will be voting.

    WORKERS PARTY.....WORKERS PARTY.....WORKERS PARTY.....

  • I was there then, as a 30 year-old Singaporean, with my dad. The mood was 'electrifyingly patriotic', if you like. The recital of the pledge was stirring, both in English and Mandarin, with the tens of thousands present. GE should be about Singaporeans and our future. Not whether you get upgrading or not. Btw, bulk of upgrading $ is Singaporeans'.

  • why need say pledge in mandarin? lol.

  • @p666666 i think pledge is recited in ALL languages. Only fair since it has the lines 'regardless of race language or religion'. When I was in school, pledge was recited in English, Chinese and Malay.

  • @slideshowkeith oh kk thanks. cuz i tot in singapore pledge only recite the english version. i nver heard ppl recite other language before.

  • Even more powerful (& personal) if LTK could lead the pledge in Teochew

  • i was there too, at 36 years old . And I am not ashame to let you know that I almost wept when I said the pledge.

  • I was there! powerful speech, great leader!

@sylverster134, you are 3/4 right. I saw local medias there with big cameras etc. but when I saw the news on TV, it was merely 10 secs of the entire rally shown on TV. what a shame.

  • @shinova86 well, the human rights people know the media and the press are under pap, but they dare not say anything about that, will they?

  • Oh my!

  • I longed to say the Singapore's Pledge with pride & honor again.

  • what is this? nazi parade?

  • Worker party all the way!!!

  • Workers Party Roxs! lets break the record this year!

confirm with iPhone now we can have better videos!!!

    get your iPhone ready Guys!!!!!!!

  • @mastera7x It was Singapore. I was there. I said the pledge with Low and the at least 65,000 people who were there. I had never seen the pledge said with so much emotion - grown men had tears running down their faces.

I (and I think many) suddenly realized that though this pledge was written by a PAP minister (S Rajaretnam), the PAP never took its ideals seriously. This was confirmed when LKY said the pledge was ONLY aspirations and not an ideology.

Let's bring in at least 33 opp MPs!

  • WKS, LHL and LKY pissed in their pants that faithful night when the poodles and AyeAssD reported to them live from the stadium...

  • this is a nice scene...itd be better if singapore make it to the world cup...

  • yes is in singapore, i was there in 2006

  • @mastera7x if u don't know anything just keep ur foul mouth shut! this happen 2006 at serangoon stadium!!!

  • @mastera7x it iis! 2006 rally! i was there!
