It is difficult to reconcile the Iranian government authorize publishing of this interview. What an emboldening message to the Iranian people, far from homogeneous.
If the reporter is in New York, couldn't she take her headscarf off if she wanted to? Or would she get in trouble with the honchos back home? She's a beautiful young woman, would be nice to see her hair as well.
Then again, maybe she just doesn't want to. It can be hard to unlearn years of repression... not that we're strangers to that in the USA either of course. We're such grownups here that forbidden words on TV are beeped to protect our tender ears... oh well.
It was amusiing to see Tom Woods discussing legalization of marijuana on Iranian TV. In Iran, possession of drugs will get you a long prison sentence or even executed. I agree with about 90 percent of the Lew Rockwell wing of the libertarian movement, but their love of the muslim world and specifically Iran is rather strange. The reason Islamists resist the new world order is not a love of liberty - it is because the NWO is inconsistent with their vision of a global caliphate. Both are evil.
@violinthief Let's not confuse the Iranian people with the government, nor the American people with theirs, LOL. I don't hear Rockwell & co. "loving" muslims so much as opposing the US Imperial urge to dominate and control people abroad and at home. Let us hope people everywhere can communicate through the alternative media and figure out ways to peacefully coexist and respect divergent and freely chosen social systems (if we ever see individual freedom again.)
@leafwatch Leaf - this video has nothing to do with the "Iranian people". Press TV is wholly owned by the government of Iran. Their interview of Thomas Woods has nothing to do with respect for the Constitution (their government, if you didn't know, is a religious dictatorship). They interview him because they view him as a useful idiot. I agree with his arguments for nullification, but this choice of venue does not further the cause.
@violinthief i want you to expliain the difference between a Religious dictatorship and a Bankster Dictatorship that exists in this country...to argue against our founding document that is ignored so obscenely in these times makes you look like the useful idiot.
@jonesey5168 How in your warped little mind did you construe my comments to be arguing against the Constitution? My disagreement with Woods is venue, not substance. Though our current state is far from perfect, do you REALLY want to argue the relative freedoms enjoyed by an average American versus an average Iranian? Here's one difference - the tea party protesters have not been murdered in the streets by the US army. Also, I left the Methodist church 10 years ago and have yet to be executed.
@violinthief ur right, i'm the warped one, you are completely sane and objective... btw how long have you lived in Iran since you know so much about their society and people?...was it Faux Newz? bet you want us to spread peace and democracy to Iran by the barrel of a gun...nice
@jonesey5168 This is the second time you've attacked me with straw man arguments. Sadly, you are not intellectually honest enough to engage in rational discourse. I guess I should sink to your level instead. I bet you hate puppy dogs. You puppy dog killer!
@violinthief woods gets an opportunity to speak to Iranians, educate them about keeping government accountable to the people legally and through checks and balances. possibly sell more book copies, etc. And if I were Iranian I would want the American people to get better control of the government in order to stop what they surely can sense is coming conflict. I think there is a large number of Iranians that want more freedoms and a constitutional-type system as well. i think it's interesting.
@Mechanized0 I kept thinking as I was listening and studying the reporter's expressions that I'll bet a lot of these foreign journalists and press outlets who do such a superior job of highlighting these viewpoints do so because they would like to see the U.S. government stay within their own constitutional limits (especially in foreign policy) for their own sake. It would be great for Americans too. You can't have big government abroad and still expect small government at home.
@mjhonsun Indeed. This is essentially my problem with the neocon wing of the Tea Party; the desire for small government at home yet big government abroad. Such a contradictory viewpoint would be rather amusing if it were not so dangerous and self-destructive.
@Mechanized0 "Such a view is, if i may say, quite simple-minded."
.
Those with the "Lust for Power" have been in control for so long that it seems normal. Accepting that is, I agree, quite simple-minded.
.
There are two groups, the "useful idiots" and the truly diabolical. What Woods says about Nancy Pelosi "laughing" when asked for the Constitutional basis for nationalizing health care demonstrates she's one of the diabolical ones.
.
She has the Lust for Power over others. A psychosis.

And Tom Woods is superb!

There is something about this reporter's eyes that mesmerizes me. She is so mysteriously beautiful.

It is most unfortunate that the imperialist mindset dominates mainstream thinking. Such a view is, if i may say, quite simple-minded.
