Why can't you focus on the other end? Look at how Catholicism built western civilization. See how it now empowers Asia and Africa in our current time. Open your eyes and mind. I think your question is legitimate, I arrived at this video by following links on youtube on the wordonfire channel. Why is it an insult to ask people of faith about the prima facie contradictions of their God? If it appears that I am militant,it is because it does not make logical sense to me, based on Gods predicates thousand of innocence children are dying of starvation

@imax1971 The existence of so much apparently gratuitous evil in the world seems to me an excellent reason not to believe in an all-powerful, all-good God. My questions back to you are 1) How can you sleep at night knowing about such horrendous suffering? 2) How can you justify a defense based on Gods attributes that I listed that allows such evil? If you can develop such a theodicy, then I would consider you a moral monster.

After several years of higher level education in philosophy, logic, probability and the study of ancient Near East Theology I have become aware of truths and evidence that the Chirstian lay person are ignorant of. When I see such absence of knowledge I am compelled to challenge “blind faith”.

Father Barron, you may never know how much you've done to LIGHT A FIRE ON THE EARTH! You ROCK and you know it, so you might as well own it (and of course continue to give glory to God in the process). Had any other priest handled Word On Fire, it wouldn't be the same at all.
