  • Rockin Blues at it's best. Buddy and Junior in top form.

  • Now this is music!

  • Lovin Buddy's style in this one! Always love to see Junior and Buddy playing together :D

  • Yea Buddy loved that Guild. I think he wore a hole in the top playing it. Doesn't get any better then Jr. and Buddy.

  • the drummer looks like Mick Jagger :)

  • Man Buddy Guy is the shit, playing that beautiful Guild semi...I met Buddy and Jr Wells after a gig at the Bottom Line, had a couple of drinks with them in about 1976, 2 very nice gents

  • simply the best flavor cooking blues from buddy guy and jr wells

  • Ilove Rory Gallagher version of this too, had not heard the origional-ish version before

  • Mick Taylor there as well..

  • Junior Wells definitely had style.

  • gettin' funky!!!!!!!!!! in a good way!

  • Is that a Guild?

  • This is great!!! Thank you for sharing!

  • One hot night in June 1982 at New Jersey's Capitol Theater, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, featuring Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones) on lead guitar, John McVie (Fleetwood Mac) on bass, and Colin Allen (of Rod Stewart's band) on drums,

  • not the best buddy guy solo, but i've come to learn that there is no such thing as a bad version of "messin' with the kid." junior still wails on the harp.

  • Junior is cool.

  • It's great to the Junior Wells videos from the 60's - 90's. I saw Junior several times while I lived in Chicago in late-80's. He embodies the Chicago blues harp style. Awesome!

  • Oh i love that and he has such nice harp skills

  • Is that Mick Taylor playing guitar behind Buddy? Just wondered, that's all! Looks like him? Buddy playing fantastic as usual! And Well's harp was great, and instantly recognisable.

  • Yes it is.

  • great song!

  • Junior Wells was the deal! When he a Buddy Guy played together, it was magic, even with Buddy's sour notes.

  • buddy guy baby!!!!

  • This is BAD. What year is this from? The quality is so good. And yeah Buddy hits some stanky notes but he also hits some STANKY notes. And he's Buddy Guy.

  • "Vietcong Blues", Jr, Wells & Buddy Guy on anthology, "Chicago/the Bues/Today", 1966. Find it.

  • Low down and dirty and all alone.......thats the blues brothers..

  • seen buddy and seen junior but wish i saw them together. :(

  • shivers down the spine to!:)) this is fucking great!!!!!

  • Blues = shivers down the spine.... = goodtimes :)

  • Ah...listening to Junior, makes you feel good.

  • that there is QUALITY that is

  • I don't know it seems it tiook Buddy a minute to find his groove. But Junior, that's my boy.

  • Buddy always plays sour notes, but you cannot deny that he's the genuine article. Playing in his 6th decade as a true blues musician, NOBODY here even rates three words to critique anything he has ever done.

  • infact i think the sour notes add to his sound makes him sound on the edge and wild

seen him live he was amazing !

  • Man o man that Buddy can play, makes the hair on yer neck stand up every time I hear him, he makes it look so effortless.

He's up there with the best o the best.

  • Wow, this is a good one ! Love Junior, kinda sounding like James Brown ! ha ha, Buddy always enjoys himself ! Nice Post.....

  • did Wells have cancer while filming Blues Brothers 2000?

  • yea, but apparently he didn't know that at the time.

  • Hey Buddy --- do it again !!

  • I was at this show--it was June 1982 at the Captiol Theater in Passaic New Jersey. It was amazing--I was too young to appreicate it at the time.

  • Great experience, i suppose. Tank you for comment about this video, to all

  • @glassslide

-worst solo i've ever heard from buddy, and it still was amazing!!!

as clapton says "best guitar player alive" love u buddy

  • @glassslide .

Someone just lent me recently the VHS tape of this concert , released in the mid 80's it was called 'Blues Alive' . Mick Taylor and Albert King were also really in fine form. However I read that it has been re released on DVD with the title "Jamin The Blues' with extra songs.

  • @glassslide i have had privilege of playing at buddy guy's legends bar in chicago, got to play harp on same stage as some of the greats, buddy is a great man and really nice guy, no pun intended

  • @glassslide Hey I was there too....truelly the best concert I ever saw...remember How wasted John Mcvie was? He couldnt come out for 2nd set....or when Sippie Wallace said to Mick Taylor "Play that thing White Boy"???

  • @glassslide Ya lucky!! Incredible lineup ...Saw this when i became aware of the Blues25 yrs ago First time i SAW A.King.. Mick Taylor is on fire!!!

  • Is that Mick Taylor,Colin Allen, and John Mcvie . I saw them at the Espy St Kilda Australia mid 80s playing songs from Crusade and Laurel Canyon LPS Great...

  • Is that John Mcvie on Bass?

  • I'm but John Mayall and his band sound SO weak!!

  • Bless your dapper self, Junior, groovin' out of every pore.

  • what year was this?

  • Is 1984

  • super buddy guy

  • this is the tempo i like- - gotta groove- - these guy's are putting out their best here from what i've heard

  • Messin' with the kid, is the shit! Don't have it, get it!

  • I have this DVD, lots of great playing on it!

  • what DVD is this from?

  • John Mayall

    And The Bluesbreakers

    Live at Capitol, New jersey

  • The great Mick Taylor!

    Great All-Star Jam!

  • I liked it a lot, too.

  • this just sounds so wrong, after watching the montreux performance

  • BUddy live is still a great showman, and represents the old school well. Junior rocks and always has !! Love it !

  • one of the best live blues performances ever. 5 stars. Only because utube doesn't allow me give any more than 5. Junior, you're missed. Buddy, it's a shame you don't play like this anymore.

  • Junior and Buddy are such fantastic entertainers.
