  • First off, this video is great, I love the feel. I can only hope to one day know those beautiful chords. Really great. Also, I had a question: I have a friend who just recently bought a drum kit so that him and I could jam some very mellow stuff for the vibes... but wow the kit is loud!! I'm not sure what we should do but I saw that the room we play in is similar to yours... How did you handle it?

  • Well..i just let it be loud ;)

But ..you can play with "cool rods" or "hot rods"..

also you can buy "muted" foam backed drum heads.

Really a carpeted floor would totally bring the volume down too.

  • Hehe, we would, too, but this is seriously loud... Our room is pretty is pretty small and really... I think with a couple more jam sessions as is, our ears would be like permanently hurt. The room is carpeted, and we're thinking about hanging rugs or something. He has drum mute but it severely mutes the sound... and distorts it to some degree. I've never heard of cool and hot rods, Ill look them up. Thanks! :D

  • OK, got the subscription! I see you have Roy Buchanon, awesome guitarist! We used to listen to him years ago, good choice!!!! Dave

  • Hmmm. I was able to add this tune to favorites, but, I can't figure out how to subscribe?

  • Sounds like you have a little Stevie Ray in ya! Really, really love the extra licks man! That last chord is a bitch isn't it? I think they call it a blues box chord, but adding that pinky, then being in position for the box chord is tough. Take care, Dave

  • Stevie..wow..thankyou ..that is a compliment (namaste') Glad you liked it..I was wide eyed and smiling watching your video..I couldn't believe you went so far out to demonstrate the correct chording...I was real glad you did.

Yes that last chord is tricky...lol ;)

..it's one of those chords where you have to use a "squashed" finger.

  • Dude, that Strat sounds soooooo sweet! I also really dig the licks you put in there! Great job my friend! Are you in Illinois? I need a jam partner!!! Take care, Dave the guitar guy

  • Thanks dave...I wound those pups myself with heavy lacquer wire, and the body is a warmoth swampash with a good portion of the back routed out for wieght and a more hollow-toned resonance

(the low ohm thickly coated coil-wire, and the body, which is 3/4" thick where it is routed in the rear...gives it that spank tone).

    Nah... :(

I'm in NY.. sorry (further than a stone toss I suspect)...I also want a jam scene myself brother .
