  • A bug? a f*cking bug!? God's sake man-where's the shark when you need one?

  • I just love Thompson hes the fucking man!

  • Sardy Field.

  • looks to be like the mid-late 70's

  • what is this from? I must know.

  • Let me know if you remember, this clip is toooo short...

  • I believe it's a BBC documentary from 1978 called Gonzovision, or something like that...

  • This is from "Fear and Loathing on the Road to Hollywood" an episode of BBC's Omnibus circa 1978. Available on disc 2 of the Criterion version of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" DVD.

  • want some hunter trivia? Hunter always prefered to drive expensive american cars, and in the real-life scene that this shot re-creates, hunter pulled up fast in a big red convertable and stopped two inches from steadman's legs. The director wanted it on film, but hunter couldn't do it without the sponaneity, and in the re-shoot the cheap director only rented a VW.

  • No doubt had Hunter tried to really recreate the scene he would have run over poor Ralph. Second-guessing always throws off your timing.

  • from the doc. Fear and loathing: road to hollywood with hunter s. thompson and ralph steadman

    says in the comment.

  • this had to be long before 1998 thompson looks to young here. its pretty funny th. typical thompson.

  • is it the real hunter s and steadman ?

  • as real as it gets?

  • yea. is it as real as it gets ?

  • yea. its as real as it gets dick-nose!

  • well thanks. johnson-butt

  • poor ralph... i can just see hunter spraying him with teargas "for his own protection" HA HAHA HAH AHHH!!!

  • Hahaha, awesome. Looks like what I'd do.

I thought this was going to be the scene from "Fear and Loathing on the Road to Hollywood" where he almost slammed into Ralph's shins.

Then I remembered, from reading "The Joke's Over", that they never caught it on tape, and the re-enactment was lousy.

  • GREAT! Thanks for sharing

  • hahahah
