Thanks for the comments, guys! One thing of note, my (very old) mouse frequently gets stuck when I rapidly pan left or right (which you can see at 1:15 with the jerking motion as I'm trying to track the bandit on horseback).

You CAN have the aim reticle practically still while moving and mounted you just need to max out your horse archery skill / power draw etc.

guys...when i get a quiver of arrows it always sits on my bum...how do i get it onto my back like a real quiver should do

Well, actualy, in real life, alot of archers, back in the midevil times had the quiver on their hips for easier access etc. But, with Barbed arrows, Bodkin, and Khergit, the arrows will sit on your hip, with regular arrows they will be on your back.

Man... this game is like the opposite of most big-title games out there. Amazing gameplay, but mediocre presentation. Given some next gen graphics, proper sound effects (when 100 cavalry charge, you don't hear one hundred hoofbeats- you hear THUNDER), and either well designed or procedural animation (they look kinda dumb on foot when holding their weapon ready to swing), this game could blow those few other medieval combat games clear out of the water. Maybe if Ubisoft brought it to consoles...

hit there legs or feet or just wait for there swing and then shoot or there head(hard as crap)

or, get a spear and couch it, or use an axe with a shield bonus. this will destroy the shield or kill them as they drop their guard to attack

or get a sword, and hit them with the side of the horse so they start to fall a bit then swing ur sword and them.
