  • Nice

  • This is why I have an octave key.

  • Lol Its Funny How They Crack Up. I give this thumbs

  • that's not a very good warm up

  • The best part is the smallest dude plays the biggest one.

  • For trumpet guy I call that squealing! I too can hit a c above the scale and I'm 12

  • i play trumpet too thumbs up for trumpet guy!!!

  • @unpantsable im pretty sure its a baritone/euphonium

  • Teach me!!!:) I play trombone thats freaking hikarious

  • being a brass player, i am laughing, it is pretty funny.

  • Trombone player especially and the others too. Don't strain to hit really high notes. Just use more air and just touch the notes that are super high for you. Don't try to sustain them or strain. You can cause permanate bad things

  • Irish?

  • sooo stupid.

  • I can play a high double Bb (trumpet high C) on trombone without a trigger come on dude you can do it!

  • @Succumbedsilence0 there's a video in the sidebar of him hitting a double Bb

  • All of you have terrible range.

  • @Tubasrocktheworld I now anoint you... a troll!

  • @Tubasrocktheworld wheres your vid bro

  • @Tubasrocktheworld post a video of you playing higher.

  • @Tubasrocktheworld they are all laughing, im sure they are better after they are warmed up

  • YOU GUYS SUCK SO BAD! HAHAHA!

  • @Lalumia4

    Where's your video?

  • are you trying to make the instroment sound like farts????

  • The guy on the right looks like Demitri Martin

  • i lol'd at the tuba range

  • you should do a blast off

  • he has good range for a tuba player, I myself can get 5 Bb's out, from pedal tone Bb to treble cleff low Bb

  • i don't play brass but you guyes are great!

  • He can't even play high on a BBb tuba. now THATS something to laugh at.

  • Yea dude they all have great range for their instruments shut the hell up juggalo

  • i love the trumpets range. XD we could be best friends xD tuba nice work and trombone u have it easyest u can play atleast 7 octaves with practice

  • Looks like you boys had fun making the video. Good range you guys

  • tht trombone player hasnt alot of range i can hit and octave over him on euphonium

  • @Juggalotheonefreak Who the fuck cares.

  • @deguijac000 well, honestly im not expecting you to care, if i was i would make it clear, however, douche bags like you dnt have to much to talk about but to care. and if u didnt care you wouldnt have commented. and for the record, if you were assuming tht i thought tht im better than him, no im not, we play different instruments and the trombone and euphonium use diffterent techniqes to play our horns.

  • @Juggalotheonefreak Just to let you know I absolutely LOVE these pointless YouTube arguments. You made it seem like your the shit, that's all. People don't find that attractive. Sorry to come off as a dick.

  • Cool I guess.

  • I really like that tromboner's tone. seriously its better than mine hahaha.

  • If this is your warm-up, I'm a little worried..

  • lol when im depressed i watch this XD

  • this was hilarious though to see the tuba playing those high notes and the bass trombone trying to get it too

  • that bass trombone and tuba arent very good at highnotes the trumpet owned them

  • YOU GUYS SUCK!!! AHAHAHAHAA

  • the reson theyre laughing is b cuz its funny as shit ^_^

  • haha that trombone player... lol i gots a 7 ocatave range lol

  • it sucks trying to play that high on a naturally low instrument...

  • Lmao that's a awsome warm-up u should try a low note warm-up

  • Not really sure why you punk ass pieces off shit are laughing ... it aint that funny

  • can yall do pedal tones

  • CADÊ O C6??? FROXO...

  • i used my trumpet mouthpiece on a trombone and i madfe it sound like as trumpet.

  • Funny warm ups xD

  • This is great, you guys are having so much fun. haha

wish i hadnt quit band now....

  • Guys its not a competition of who can play the highest its just a warmup jeez.

  • wow

  • you should try some remmington books.

  • they can't, it's to small and there uses to playing on a lagrer mouth piece

    no offince

  • tuba player needs work

  • trumpet players got some range! woo!

  • @xc1816 tuba players got some range! woo!

  • hey guys...i practised your warum-up the last two weeks and now i can not play anymore a low b-flat....does that mean, that i'm doing well???:) greets...

  • lol no, you should start with mid range scales, then some high scales, the do some pedals, back and forth btwn those. Keeps your range in good shape. Being a brass player and not playing a low Bb is awful lol

  • Baritones are conical bore... Euphoniums are cylindrical bore.

(The tubing throughout the horn on a conical instrument gradually gets bigger as you go from mouthpiece to bell)

  • I'm pretty sure you mixed it up, euphoniums have a conical bore and baritones have a cylindrical bore.

  • trumpet player sucks^^

  • Trumpet player sounds like a bag of crap.

  • as does the tubist.......

  • that's why I chose baritone.

  • Watz da difference between an euphonium and a baritone? Somebody pls fill me in!

  • nothing euphonium is a modern word for baritone.

  • hahahaha what? no, euphonium is conical and baritone is cylindrical so yes, there is a difference

  • A Baritone is to a Euphonium as is a Trumpet is to a Cornet. The Euphonium is conical bore, meaning from the lead pipe on it get's bigger continually ( excluding the valve sections ). The Baritone is more cylindrical, as it stays the same bore until after the valving. But that's an Eb Tuba, not a Bari or Euph, alot of people here are wrong.

  • i love seeing how high i can get on my tuba. idk the range i can get but i get up there.

  • why are they laughing?

  • The tuba was not originally going to be in the video- he made his way in when we were about to record, so we let him get in, so it was funny to hear him try to get up there in the range.

  • band humor i guess.

  • This video is hilarious! It sounds like some of the warm-ups my buddies and I did in college. Very funny! Thanks for sharing.....I would warm-up with you guys anytime. lol

  • 0:43 the first three notes were F-A-G in bass cleff xD

  • That's a really crappy daily warmup guys. Doing that will just destroy your embouchure on a daily basis. Long tones followed by flexibilites is the way to go. Then play high and stuff. Oh, and to the tuba guy, I can play way higher dude. ;)

  • it sounds like crap, really, but it sounds like you're having fun, i guess that's the most important in high school:P

  • Watch there other videos...

  • ...the guy on the tuba is hot.

  • I hate people like you.

You have nothing interesting to say about the video or what they're doing.

  • i have already said my share of what i think about what they're playing.

    don't be hating.

  • hey is this high school or college?

  • High school when recorded. Since the recording, only the trumpet player has moved onto college.

  • Damn... I play the euphonium and I can't get that high. The one sounds like your murdering a little kid and the noise is its screams... lmao

  • i play euph too. how long u been playing?

  • thats a tuba not a Euph.

  • It's actually an Eb Tuba.

Euph's are smaller and the bell is about the same size as a trombone.

I can see how you were confused though, because it is smaller than a Bb tuba which people are used to seeing :)

  • It is hard to tell between them, but im used to seeing Eb's and Bb's so i can note the differences now :)

  • oh, my gosh..

    i feel really retarded now!

I didn't read your post very carefully - i just sort of glanced at it - and I thought you were saying that it WAS a euph, not a tuba, so that's why I commented and said it was a tuba.

    my bad.. sorry :P

  • Haha, dont worry about it :P

  • To boneofthewang:

    GOOD FOR YOU.

  • haha thats sillyyy :}]

  • How old is that trombone player? 'Cause I'm 15 and I can play higher than he can (up to triple high F on 6.5 AL mouthpiece)

  • just because you can play high on a trumpet doesnt mean you're good so calm down this guy is good playin normal stuff. all these young kids think that because they can play up real high they're the best out there

  • The comments really don't bother any of the artists in this video (when people rave about themselves)- everyone in here has been to districts or higher (except the trumpet player, who plays for local groups for paying gigs)

  • When you say "districts", do you mean district honor bands, or district jazz big band festivals, or what?

Btw benmen I never said I was good at trombone, I suck at it really, I was just commenting lol

  • @benmen123456 dude ur a dick, they aren't portraying themselves as really good because they can play high, they are having a little fun.

  • @MrSassy1395 i wasnt saying they are portraying themselves as being amazing just because they can play high, i know they're good, i was telling all the other people in the comments that playing high notes doesnt mean that you're automatically good at an instrument, any fool with enough luck can play high notes

  • and i can play lower than you can hope for even on a tenor trombone (I've hit a double pedal ~ F). Point being: range is okay for beginners, but what you can do with it and how clean you can sound is more important. I never will need that low of a sound in pretty much any of the music I play, and you most likely will never need anything above, say the double F ( second f above the staff).

  • This looks REALLY fun. I laughed while watching it.

  • WHAT A FUN WARM UP :D

  • ok im good but not that good, how do u get that high on a trombone? im trying right now and its not getting high enough all i can get is a D

  • just practice, ive been playing for a little more than a year and i can do that on the trombone

  • Dude dont even get anything from this vid there just messing around notice they all freakin cracked nasty DUH!! lip slurs and long tones is all you need for good tone and for good range

  • well, I know that building off of long tones builds endurance, so if you practice your long tones, you can build to that range. I personally haven't been working on it lately, but that's what my old teacher said when I used to take lessons. I currently can hit a C# (an octave above the one on the first ledger line)

  • tuba player needs to use more air and open up. i know you are just trying to have fun here, but it sounds bad

  • Is the tumpets head gonna blow up?! Geez! XD

  • SCREAMIN' TRUMPET! :D ^-^

  • i play baritone in band and it can suprisingly go higher than the trumpets sometimes. im saying this becuz ppl dont think bass cleft instruments can go high

  • this is really freaking funny

  • I'm not sure if it's a small tuba or a big euphonium but I can clear up the difference between baritones and euphoniums. The only difference is in the tubing. A baritone has cylindrical tubing meaning it stays the same diameter until the bell and a euphonium has conical tubing meaning the diameter of the tubing increases gradually after the valve slides.

  • Small tuba. 3/4 size.

  • Looks like you're having loads of fun !

  • haha the guy at the end "suck me!"

  • its a tuba omg shut up seriously its a damn tuba...

  • lol what were they laughing about? probly smokin the mary j before they did this. lol jp

  • We actually had an audience in the room and it was their goal to make us laugh, it seemed. There was a variety of things being done in the background... But, that being said, it is always worth smiling and laughing, as we enjoy what we do.

  • lol thats funny. but yeah ive seen your other vids and you guys sound really good

  • are you guys in like marching band if so what state and school?? ( im in marching band and maybe we went against u idk)

  • Hey you guys, pretty nice range. You should post a video on what note you can play the lowest and highest.

I'm interested to see the tuba player do it, since we play on the same kind of tuba. :D

  • they are just having fun...

  • this is pathetic

  • If you've got the time or skills to bash it, please let us see a link to a video that YOU have provided for youtube viewers to see how much better you could've handled it.

Besides, we post for fun, and for ourselves... Not because we're the best musicians in the world. We have fun with what we do- and most people enjoy it... You, of course, are entitled to your own opinions of course =).

  • that's a fun time

  • pure shit

  • thanks asshole lets see your video

  • Trumpet player is by far the best

  • Too bad that tuba is like a 2/4 size...

  • That's because it's not a tuba. It's a baritone.

  • No, it's a tuba. If it were a baritone, it would be MUCH smaller. The closest this would be would maybe be an F tuba or a euphonium, but he's obviously playing in the same series as the trumpet player so Bb, and he starts on BBb, so a BBb tuba.

  • a tuba has 4 keys.

  • Ummm, false,

    CCChhhRRRiiiZZZ. Check your student tubas.

  • it is a baritone. i play one about the same size.

  • I play a euphonium as my main instrument. It is smaller than that tuba, and a euphonium is larger than a baritone. Please get your facts straight.

  • Euphonium and baritone, i have played them both as well. Baritone for marching band and symphonic band and euphonium for wind ensemble. i though that the euphonium difference was the introduction of the other valve. My professor said that its not a tuba because they dont have the same range but my professor has been known to lie before. Let me know i'd like to get it cleared up so i that way i know.

  • It's just a 3/4 tuba.

  • yo im a girl tuba playa

    represent

    fuckkkkk yeah @ tubas <333

  • shoot trumpet player!

    what mouthpiece do you use??

  • bach 3C or bach 1 1/2C

  • lol did he play F A G in the middle of one of those or was it just me?

  • Wait shouldn't you warm up in the lower range?

  • technically, yes. We do regular warm ups and low tones before this- but we figure that showing that wouldn't be as cool or interesting. We only posted the upper register warm up for that reason. Always remember not to jump directly into the upper register- as it can actually harm your playing performance for the day thanks for pointing out that important fact itsdfuzz.

  • I would like to see the lower register warm-up, i'm sure it's fun.

  • If I can get the guys together again (just got to college, they're still in high school)- we'll put together the lower register warm up. Otherwise, I'll just have to play it sometime I get to go home (my camera is at home)

  • ok, that will be nice =)

    congratulations :P

  • dude you guys are pretty insane!

  • omg thats me there

  • thats some good range on the tuba.

  • A tuba player isn't supposed to play that high normally in song, so it's not as much a matter of how high a tuba player can go as how low that counts.

  • It's just a video to put on for fun... Also, professional tuba players (like oystein baadsvik) use a large range-high and low. The tuba player can play low enough for whatever he needs to play in music, so he's working on his upper register. Besides, both aspects of range are important. In regards to the lower range- if it's low pedal tones, those aren't used in music either, so your argument goes against itself. Most times very low or high notes aren't used. Musicians still like to play them.

  • Pwn'd.

  • my god this is so fucking halarious. the tuba (not player) is like literally crying for those upper notes haha.

  • You can play almost higher than Maynard

  • I wish I was that good! It'd take my life to get as good as Maynard... (if I could even be as good as he was!) I appreciate your compliment, but I don't think that I'm near good enough to even take a stab at the great MF yet... I would like to be someday, so I will keep trying though! Thanks for your compliment.

  • maynard octaved that consistently. lol we're just mere mortals.

  • LOL i cant stop laughing!

  • unless youre like amazing at trombone

  • if the tuba player wants to go really high take the french horn mouthpeice and play with that

i tried it with a trumpet so high

and my friend tried it with a bari sax mouthpiece to me it sounded like a chaingun with a certain figering and pitch

  • that really isnt that impressive cause ive benn playin 1 year and im in 7th grade and i can already get a double high Eb on tuba and a double low Ab

  • we bow down to you, magnificent lord of the lowbrass

  • good for you

realality check do the songs you play in a band have double high Eb and low Ab

  • no man....u have to be at least a sophmore in HS to go to states.....but 1st u hafta make districts...then regionals....and then make it to states....all with a re-audition...nerveracking to...good luck man

  • well you can be a freshman here to make states. im a junior and ive made it every year on trombone. and the trombone did a real nice job trying to get that a out nice job man. i can usually get a c above that

  • Yeah you can be a freshman and make all state here too. (*cough* trombone)

  • high five haha yay trombone all state freshmen
