planning on buying one version of this weapon soon. probably the 6.5" barreled version with adjustable sights. seems like a descent firearm for the money. with the .22 mag. cylinder included it's like 2 guns for 1 money.
do you know if this can use grips meant for other brands? I love the feel of diamond texture grips but they dont make any for this gun, but seeing how its based off other model im wondering if it work?
i heard the heritage arms rough rider has a little defect, when you put about 1000 rounds through it the little thing that spins the cylinder starts to ware out. my first quiestion is, is that true? and my second quiestion is if it is true, would it be fairly simple and easy to find a new one of those parts online? and my final quiestion is would it be simple to put the part in yourself? or would it cost alot to have a gunsmith do it for you. please reply ill be waiting on your response
I just bought a new 9 shot rough rider for my wife. I find the hammer is quite stiff compared to my other single action revolvers. My wife struggles just to pull the hammer back. Do you find this to be true with yours and it does it loosen up after breaking in? I hear different things from owners. Thanks
hi i was just wondering about the quality of the gun in aspect of wear and durability. I've heard that these guns show a considerable amount of wear after a while of target shooting and aren't really made to last a lifetime. In your opinion is this actually true. I'm looking for a good target pistol and am kind of wondering if this is one of them "you get what u pay for pistols". Thanks.
I just bought mine this saturday and started shooting. but i notice I have to hold it 3/4 right of the target to hit center. is there anything I can do to fix it,
@CXxWilsonxX55 - no.....you should only shoot what the firearm is rated for. 22MAG is rated for 22MAG. Heritage Arms does make a 17HMR revolver, but it is not interchangeable with the 22 revolver.
@CXxWilsonxX55 technecly since the .17hmr is just a necked down version of the .22mag you could fire it.it would not de accurate or effective but in a pinch you could fire it.
@CXxWilsonxX55 Problem is, a .22 barrel is .22 or so inches in diameter, and a .17 bullet is narrower than said barrel. It'd be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway - it'll bounce around and nothing good is gonna come of it.
@teddyd30 they are made in Florida, as far as the price, if the gun you were looking at was a .22, then yes, $230 is way too much money. if it was a .32, maybe. i picked mine up for $129.99 at academy a few days ago .22lr with a 6.5in barrel. could not pass that deal up for a good US made target pistol.
I keep hearing people say that this gun is between 175-179 dollars. However a gun shop around my way is charging 249. Is he trying to rob me, or is that a fair asking price?
@ jaypowell- You could load all six chambers. This is a target revolver though. Leaving one chamber empty originated to prevent revolvers from discharging while carrying. This really is not a firearm you would want to carry.
@ elitesack180 is not a bad price at all.
@ hoatrunner- the ruger single six hands down. Neither though is meant to carry for self defense, but they are great for hunting, target practice, and plinking.
hey i have a ? what do u think is better a heritage or a ruger single six i just want one to plink around and carry and i want it to be able to fire thousands and thousands of rounds
@goatrunner21 Ruger will last generations and be passed down to your great great great great grandchildren. The rough rider, i estimate, with heavy use, will last about 100 years.
@elitesack I dont know why that has to be the case. There are revolvers/firearms that were made back in the 1800s(and further back) that still perform today. You mention "heavy use". Personally,I think its heavy ABUSE, or poor overall care for the pistol that, for the most part, will have the deteriorating effect you are speaking of.

The Lighting is pretty crapping, it really doesn't show the revolver in detail

Do you know where they are made?
I've looked at one for $230 and I'm thinking that's a little too much. Agreed?
Thanks!

@teddyd30 - That is a bit pricey, but in your local area firearms may be more.
