I like 'end of dark' very much, i actually use it as a tune in my phone. But still... damn i like this intro, the music feels more closer to the theme of this opening.
I mean, both are pretty much Japanese animated movies, and they're both made by Hideo Kojima (aka, the man that created Metal Gear, the greatest game franchise ever)
@filipeflower Well, it's a legitimate term used to describe a game created with direct influence from another game which is not in the same series. It's the best way I can describe it. Policenauts and Snatcher are a prime example though.
There has never been a english version released. A fan translation of the game has been produced. But the project could not find a programmer to insert the translated material into a version of the game and progress ground to a halt. In August of 2008, Something Awful forum member slowbeef began to add english text to the PS1 version of the game.
I like how we don't know anything about Jonathan when you start the PC-98 version, we don't see the same set of sequences in space, with him being lost during the mission with his fellow Policenauts. It adds even more mystery to the storyline for those who play this version first!
Why do so many people think they are software enforcement officers? Who the fuck was he supposed to buy it off of EBAY? God damn I mean I could see if he was taking money out of people's pocket's but it aint 1995 anymore and noone sees profits from these titles why not share them? I constantly download and burn 3do isos...hell even psx if I can't find them and who gives a shit it does not hurt the marketplace so shut up. Just because you sit and wonder how people "find" stuff spells, jealousy.
Very nostalgic flavour to it all, so yeah, I agree. This is more in line with the graphics that Snatcher had; but taken to the next level. Can't wait until the translation is finished.

in terms of the visuals, the console versions are better, but I think the intro music for this version is better.

Kojima owes a lot to Blade Runner.

The original opening sounds better.

How is this a a sequel to Snatcher?
redfoxbennaton 2 years ago
Spiritually, yes.

Spiritual sequals confuse me.
redfoxbennaton 2 years ago
It's not really a sequel, it's just another game, in the vein of snatcher, that's why it's called 'spiritual sequel'.
Sheepy007 2 years ago
Were you the one who invented that term? "Spiritual sequel" ?
filipeflower 1 year ago
I would love to be, but no. What do 'you' think is a Spiritual Sequel?
Sheepy007 1 year ago
I haven't seen that term anywhere else except on your comment.
filipeflower 1 year ago
really? But It's a really common term these days
Sheepy007 1 year ago
Like I said, I've only seen that "common term" on your comment, nowhere else.
filipeflower 1 year ago
It even has it's own Wikipedia Page

@filipeflower
It's like how Bioshock is a "spiritual sequel" to System Shock.
thechosen2010 1 year ago
I don't know what you're talking about.
filipeflower 1 year ago
@filipeflower Basically, Spiritual Sequel is the correct term,
thechosen2010 1 year ago
Like I said, I've never heard of that term.

@filipeflower You have now. Sheepy007 didn't make it up, if that's what you're alluding to. Check Google.

I think he's simply arguing for the sake of arguing now

I love this song. I was disappointed not to hear it in the Playstation version's opening.

gh [DOT] fshrine [DOT] org / song / 2568 / 23
Remove all spaces and add dots where they should be because Youtube's comment system sucks.
You can also find the soundtrack in its entirety by removing the "/23" in the URL.

Although I mostly prefer the console versions, the PC98 intro is still the best.
HannesHansen 4 years ago 23
In terms of graphics.
filipeflower 3 years ago
And music.
HannesHansen 3 years ago
I don't think the music has been changed...has it?
filipeflower 3 years ago
Not as much as in Snatcher. But the opening theme is different from the console versions. And very few tracks play at a different part.
HannesHansen 3 years ago
Where did you get those games from?
filipeflower 3 years ago
I bought the PSX version on ebay for about $30 (New and sealed.) As for the Saturn and PC98 versions...I...uh...found them somewhere.
HannesHansen 3 years ago
"...I...uh...found them somewhere"? HannesHansen, by the looks on that comment, I'm beginning to think you might be a shoplifter.

I still say this music is better than End Of The Dark!
KazuoKiriyama666 4 years ago 10
Yeah, it actually fits in with the opening credits. End of the Dark was better suited for the ending scenes.
