And the paint is all standard man, i seriously havent seen to many this colour. Might be Popular down south maybe, but not on west coast and where i lived in Syd.
And PS man, if you havent already got your charger and all the bits, there is plenty of room in those bays for two turbos. Stage them so you hve almost zero lag on off you go.

@daneholtz With stock heads and internals, yeah i would'nt runt to much more than 7, 8 max with a cooler and decent exhaust and intake.
My VR makes a bit more than 300hp and the rears @ 12psi, i have a reallllllly small pully to make about 22psi but im not running that till the engine is sorted and settled.
If i had my time again, i would have a totally different setup, 2 staged turbos. Almost zero lag, and mad boost till top end, would all be custom work though,Torque monster.$8000 i reckon.
@Benji19922 elbow grease and a port and polish kit from Standard abrasives. still have stuff left over too, still polishing bits and pieces with it. I got mine from Summit Racing in the US, cost about $100 buck including postage mate. Great buy.

u should fuck that motor off and go the come racing 4.2 option with throttle body's.. u can buy crate motors with no bolt on shit for 5 grand and the bottom end can handle a turbo or supercharger. you do that put a 5 speed in it, a 3.9 lsd, coils, leads induction with twin throttles u will run 11's all day or even 10's. my mates stock 94 vr berlina run a 14 flat at willowbank and all it had done was a 5 speed, 3.9's induction twin throttle bodys and leads with coil packs.

Each to his own, but you should really have a look at Commodores through the years. They have evolved a lot over 3 decades. The Pontiac G8 was 99% Holden. The only real difference being the front and rear styking, a few badges, and which side of the dash the steering wheel was on
its very hard to get a manual trany and belive me its a arse converting, you got to rewire harness and reprogram the ECU for engine as it goes stupid when there is no gearbox there

Man i always have to do things the hard way. I might just keep the tranny as is and race it with an auto box, that way i can do double duty when i get the chance to hit the strip.

The cage and paint are top priority, got the wiring, guards and interiour pretty much sorted. And a paint scheme, No idea yet. Kyle Busch's paint scheme is looking good maybe.
Did you use spray-on tint for your tail lights? thats what i used on my VS, looks good.
And i went the whole ten yards on my interior, all white and black bits. auto spray does wonders. getting the fabric trimon the doors done soon too, and might invest in getting the seats done, covers are doing the job at the moment.
I actualy got the supercharger second hand mate from a mob in WA. BUT,, the supercharger kits are from CAPA in SA, they have a site. There is a couple of options you can go for, but a kit like mine will set you back about $7500.
like i said there is options. if you want to do things right, then an engine rebuild is a must. . I went the whole hog man, new everything. Man the list goes on and on if you do it right, BUT, it gets bloody costly.
umm I started to use paint from supercheap, blue paint.( supercheap is just supercrap!!!)
Then i used vinyl dye on all of the interior except the parts that i wanted blue. I painted it black to give it more of a modern look and to suit the blue and everything else. I didnt know u had to use gloss for that i was using matt.

yeah man, you need to clear coat it to protect it. If you have used matt paint, you may still clear over it and it might give it a glossy look. just test it first on a piece you can see. I used just plain old auto spray cans, then gave it a few coats of clear. and mine looks sweet i think. Im not sure if the auto dyes would handle a clear coat, every one I know that has done it just used paint then cleared it. let me know how you go bro. Good luck.
just normal auto paint. if your painting plastic, use a plastic primer then sand it as smooth as you can, that will help your wet look/shine. 1500 grit W&D is good. lay your colour untill your happy with the coverage, then clear coat it man, as many as you want, but youdont need to go over crazy, 4 max maybe. youcan then colour sand it with again 1500 W&D then polish it
Mines only an open wheeler also at the moment. I dont bother doing burnouts. just launches, still good. Chuckin on a salisbury diff with lsd, 3.45 or 3.70 gear ratio cos its my everyday car. Don't wana spend too much petrol. Lots of people reckon put on 3.90's but then I'll be breakin out in wheel spin all the time. I still wana keep most of my top speed. For the drags I'll probly get some slix but we wont be seeing the drags here in s.a for a long while. I also wana run 12's or 11's one day

Im going to go 3.7's for my diff gears, i only live in a small town and it only takes a fiver to get anywhere. When i eventually get the thing sorted (diff gears, gearbox/converter and supercharger rebuild) I will load it on a trailer and head to the strip, which is either at Rockhampton or willowbank, That way i can gut the thing of most of the interior and stereo gear which all adds up.

I have only run a low 14 so far, i was really leaning on her, didnt want to break her just after i got it done. Im having some issues with third that is killing me, and my diff ratio is afactor too, single spinner too, so it i get stuck into her, she just turns into smoke.
Where i live now, the nearest strip is three hours away down Ipswich of Rockhampton. One day i will get her sorted and yeah, she should run some good numbers. If i see a 12 i will be more than happy.
yeah some would say that. The internals are pretty strong so it should handle it, and if it doesnt,, I'll build another short block and use turbo regal internals from the states. Some of those boys are cranking 800+hp out of theirs. Its only a six so building em is pretty cheap.
With a die grinder and sanding pads. once I got it smooth, i was just a matter of using a polishing wheel attachment and taking my time. It took me about 20 hours to do the whole job, inside and out. I used a 'standard abrasives' port and poilish kit from Summit racing.
i've got a blown 202 and it runs 10.77 secs in top plus it;s gota 2 speed power glide and a custom ford 9 inch diff and got 18x13 inch rimes on the back !!!
nice rebuild.i have a supercharged vn v6 calais but i keep on blowing gaskets. are you using a diferent type of gasket for yours ?mine boosts up to 14psi at 6400rpm.
I use copper gaskets and i have had no problem cranking about 20psi at it. Im sure she wouldnt like a constant 20 so I get around on about 12-14, depends on the weather, Hot as fuck=no boost.
Do you run a cooler? maybe intake temps are too high and she is detonating.
I'm just runnin water injection that came with the kit, since ive only got a powerdyne blower now i"m in the search for more power. i'm already exceeding the psi level made for that blower cos i put a smaller pulley on. I should of gone all out and bought a vortech. Didnt realy wana put on an intercooler, thats why i didnt go vortech, now I might have to or maybe a power cooler. They are both the same pretty much, the VS is probably a little better as they have the Ecotec and more parts are available for them in Aust, its really only the interior that changed.
Hey Mafia187, i budgeted $10,000 and went over it, so lots of coin. Why not just drop a V8 in,, I didnt want one. I already had the charger so building a solid V6 seemed more of a challenge.

It pretty much MADE the 3800 what it is today, it used a tuned version of the 3800, with a tiny little turbo. And it went pretty stinky last I checked..

Did you just use a barrel grinder to do the polishing? (We use them at work to smooth out welds, looks like the same result)

Did you use spray-on tint for your tail lights? thats what i used on my VS, looks good.
And i went the whole ten yards on my interior, all white and black bits. auto spray does wonders. getting the fabric trimon the doors done soon too, and might invest in getting the seats done, covers are doing the job at the moment.

I actualy got the supercharger second hand mate from a mob in WA. BUT,, the supercharger kits are from CAPA in SA, they have a site. There is a couple of options you can go for, but a kit like mine will set you back about $7500.
like i said there is options. if you want to do things right, then an engine rebuild is a must. . I went the whole hog man, new everything. Man the list goes on and on if you do it right, BUT, it gets bloody costly.
If you do it, plan budget for about $10,000.

umm I started to use paint from supercheap, blue paint.( supercheap is just supercrap!!!)
Then i used vinyl dye on all of the interior except the parts that i wanted blue. I painted it black to give it more of a modern look and to suit the blue and everything else. I didnt know u had to use gloss for that i was using matt.
I was reading on the internet that u have to use clear over it??

yeah man, you need to clear coat it to protect it. If you have used matt paint, you may still clear over it and it might give it a glossy look. just test it first on a piece you can see. I used just plain old auto spray cans, then gave it a few coats of clear. and mine looks sweet i think. Im not sure if the auto dyes would handle a clear coat, every one I know that has done it just used paint then cleared it. let me know how you go bro. Good luck.

just normal auto paint. if your painting plastic, use a plastic primer then sand it as smooth as you can, that will help your wet look/shine. 1500 grit W&D is good. lay your colour untill your happy with the coverage, then clear coat it man, as many as you want, but youdont need to go over crazy, 4 max maybe. youcan then colour sand it with again 1500 W&D then polish it

Mines only an open wheeler also at the moment. I dont bother doing burnouts. just launches, still good. Chuckin on a salisbury diff with lsd, 3.45 or 3.70 gear ratio cos its my everyday car. Don't wana spend too much petrol. Lots of people reckon put on 3.90's but then I'll be breakin out in wheel spin all the time. I still wana keep most of my top speed. For the drags I'll probly get some slix but we wont be seeing the drags here in s.a for a long while. I also wana run 12's or 11's one day

Im going to go 3.7's for my diff gears, i only live in a small town and it only takes a fiver to get anywhere. When i eventually get the thing sorted (diff gears, gearbox/converter and supercharger rebuild) I will load it on a trailer and head to the strip, which is either at Rockhampton or willowbank, That way i can gut the thing of most of the interior and stereo gear which all adds up.

Hey yeah great work on the porting n polishing. If I did it myself I wouldnt have a clue where to start. You must of seen it done before. I probly dont have the patients to do it myself. Anyway Ive water-methanol injected my blown vn v6 and you'll be glad to know that it definately makes a hp diference as long as the car gets tuned for better resuls. Havnt tuned mine yet tho. Let ya know how much I gain. What are you geting down the quarter mile ?You should be geting low 12's or high 11's

I have only run a low 14 so far, i was really leaning on her, didnt want to break her just after i got it done. Im having some issues with third that is killing me, and my diff ratio is afactor too, single spinner too, so it i get stuck into her, she just turns into smoke.
Where i live now, the nearest strip is three hours away down Ipswich of Rockhampton. One day i will get her sorted and yeah, she should run some good numbers. If i see a 12 i will be more than happy.

yeah some would say that. The internals are pretty strong so it should handle it, and if it doesnt,, I'll build another short block and use turbo regal internals from the states. Some of those boys are cranking 800+hp out of theirs. Its only a six so building em is pretty cheap.

With a die grinder and sanding pads. once I got it smooth, i was just a matter of using a polishing wheel attachment and taking my time. It took me about 20 hours to do the whole job, inside and out. I used a 'standard abrasives' port and poilish kit from Summit racing.

nice rebuild.i have a supercharged vn v6 calais but i keep on blowing gaskets. are you using a diferent type of gasket for yours ?mine boosts up to 14psi at 6400rpm.

I use copper gaskets and i have had no problem cranking about 20psi at it. Im sure she wouldnt like a constant 20 so I get around on about 12-14, depends on the weather, Hot as fuck=no boost.
Do you run a cooler? maybe intake temps are too high and she is detonating.

I'm just runnin water injection that came with the kit, since ive only got a powerdyne blower now i"m in the search for more power. i'm already exceeding the psi level made for that blower cos i put a smaller pulley on. I should of gone all out and bought a vortech. Didnt realy wana put on an intercooler, thats why i didnt go vortech, now I might have to or maybe a power cooler. How many kwats did you get from porting and polishing ?how much did it cost ?what did you get down the 1/4 ?

They are both the same pretty much, the VS is probably a little better as they have the Ecotec and more parts are available for them in Aust, its really only the interior that changed.
Hey Mafia187, i budgeted $10,000 and went over it, so lots of coin. Why not just drop a V8 in,, I didnt want one. I already had the charger so building a solid V6 seemed more of a challenge.
