you cant animate unless you have the pro version and even then its very complicated to use with animating, but other animation programs like blender accept exports in DAE format from sketchup, much easier to animate that way

hmmm... never tried it. probably you will need any 3d-software you can use "bones" in.

bones allow you to connect objects.

i played with antics. nice software, but the developers shut it down half a year ago - whyever.

try blender - its open source and might have this functions.

another way is the plug in "sketchy physics"

but actually there you can only play live - like in my other clip with the vehicle....

until now i found no cool way to control it like a director, knomseng?

there is no way, only a 3D animation program can do that, such as Blender, which i know you mentioned.

Valve came out with plugins that alow you to export the models into their SDK to add as map props

@marxhale Blender takes a million times more effort to generate half as much as Maya. Sketchup is a great starting point. I swear by it.
