Thanks for the pointer. What month should I plant in southern california? I feel sorry for these people that can't spell. Especially comrade503Alias. I bet he never completed high school
Wow fuck this.. no ones going to have furtalizer when were all living in the sticks because our government has turned facist.. when the time comes, ill compost ashes and animal corpses without the bones for furtalizer, why would anyone want to make growing things, into a unnatural hobby of using extra things you dont need. composting is so easy lmao.. I know people who compost and dont even grow things because all ur doing is throwing ur decomposable mineral filled produce in the yard.
This guy has great vids, but this is one to ignore. Don't add chemicals. End of story... if U like 'em so much go buy potato's down at yer local store. Kinda defeats the whole purpose.
although i viewed this video late, after i have lush green tops on my potato plants, I wonder if i can use the 50/50 blend Doug talks about here to boost root growth by applying a "surface" dressing? anyone know?

I'd say plant them in late spring and let them grow through the summer. I'm not sure when you poms get your last frost but whenever that is, is probably the best time to put them in the ground. They love their sun and they take around 100 days to grow. Hope that helps!
I agree just go organic. Feed the soil! as well as the plant. He did mention Sul-Po-Mag which is a nartually occurring crystalline called Langbenite. 0-0-20. great for ornamentals. I use kelp for food crops though.
DO NOT USE CHEMICALS he is an idiot. potatoes do not like manure, compost is great, Chickidy Doo-Doo is what we also use, and most organic fertilizer that is phosphorous rich. Don't forget about your trace minerals either! The chemicals might say 15-20-10 and an organic fertilizer might say 10-12-8 but for long term results go organic.
But he does not explain that commercial fertilizer gives 2 to 3 of the 96! minerals that humans should be getting from their food. We are what we eat and the reason we are all so ill is that today's commercially grown produce has 1/75th of the nutrition as that grown in 1940. Our soil is stripped of minerals and commercial fertilizer is not replacing it. Go organic, use compost, worm castings on your plants to regain your health.
That´s bullshit, there has recently been published the results from a major british study that has been ongoing for over 30 years. The conclusion is that there can not be found any health benfits in organic farming vs conventional farming.
Follow the money...who sponsored that study? It was the conventional (chemical promoting) agriculture industry. Their conclusion was that there was no difference in the basic vitamins and minerals but they ignored the effects the chemicals have on people's bodies. There is an epidemic of allergies caused by all the chemicals in our food and environment. New research concludes that autism and autoimmune disorders are the result of the chemical loads on our bodies. Grow and eat organic.
No ! it was a very large study, concentrating on medical records of people, there could not be found any difference in the frequency of any diseases or general health, between people buying organic products, and people buying conventional products.
I read a article in a paper, but shall see if i can find a link on the net.
I've heard Miracle Grow is one of the worst commercial mixes as far as contributing to nutrition and human health. One clue to the nutrition in your plants is to count the number of worms in your soil. No worms--too toxic to grow high-nutrition plants.

Use guano or some other organic fertilizer, not store bought chemicals, unless you're selling the food and don't care.
