i like it when Kietel plays cops. good or bad. totally unrelated, but did you know that James Woods fired his agent after he found out he was asked to audition for Mr Orange in Reserivor Dogs? The reason his agent never told him was because he didn't believe that Woods would be interested in doing the movie or that it would be a good.

You know, I assume the maker of this video meant to make fun of the contemporary trend toward "faith themed" entertainment by taking out of context scenes from a very violent and disturbing film.

But the fact is that "Bad Lieutenant" actually is a deeply religious film. The whole point is that even the most corrupt and degraded individual can achieve a kind of redemption through self renunciation. This is Harvey Keitel's best performance.

as the maker of this, i agree with you , very religious film and harvey's best work. but for those that know this movie (and a lot don't) it's also a riff on the Hollywood establishments efforts to sell a difficult picture with a misleading (e.g feel good) trailer.

I assume FoxFaith is a joke, and that video is a joke as well. Bad Lieutenant is a deeply disturbing, dark but utterly compelling film, one of the finest preformances I have ever seen delivered by a spellbinding Harvey Keitel. Not for the faint hearted!

This was pretty fucking great...the best part was the music chosen. I could totally see a movie studio using some slightly God-tinged and quasi-hip songs like "My Sweet Lord" or "Spirit in the Sky" to attempt to sell a modern religious movie.
