PEOPLE, I just bought a 2012 Genesis Coupe 2.0T. Nice car, however, there is a smell of gas inside the cabin. Last night I woke up with chest pain. I googled it and found some others having the same issue with the smell of gas inside the cabin. Can you please message me if you're having the same problem.
Must have been a really hot day. Those are the same times as my 330ci is rated at stock. Except for power of course. Either way I love the sound of the Genisis v6 so much.

I get the performance and fuel efficiency at a very modest price and rick case offering a 200k warranty means they stand behind their cars so this is not a piece of crap. I test drove this car last night. Drove it real hard. And honestly it felt cheap and incomplete. I had high hopes for the Genesis. But it has a lot to prove. Until I see one with 450,000 kms the car will remain a prototype. The Intrgra has proven itself to be a perfectly engineered car hitting 500k
they advertised this car as a "MOST UNSPORTIC COUPE EVER...FEELS LIKE SEDAN" something like this on their website. Is hyundai our of their mind? I guess they don't even know definition of sports car.

Why does everyone care how common some cars are? If the car is a great car then thats all that matters..5.0 Mustang for example, for around 30 grand you get a car that out performs cars double the price. Who care's if you see them a lot, that's because everyone loves them! The genesis coupe is a great car..but overpriced. Not the best bang for the buck. Spend another few thousand and get a 370.
@Redsummersun611 I wanted to get a 5.0, but even in Arizona (where more 5.0's are sold than anywhere else), I was unable to get a suitable package for "around 30k". Also it is ludacris to say you get a 370 for "another few thousand". To compare apples to apples - you would need to spend around $45k to get a similar package to the Genesis (nav, leather, brembo). I agree the Z is better - but they are also different cars (the geneis is 2+2). The 5.0 is by far the best bargain. I got the Genesis.
The 2012 mustang gt has a 5 liter v8 and starts at 29 grand. It has 400 some horses and 390 ft-lbs of torque for about the same price. It's a way better choice.
A BMW with less HP and torque also costs more than the stang. Yea?
You see 10 stangs everyday in the city compared to the GC that you only see once in a while. Unless you're a racer who race on the track, then the GC is the one to get for city driving.

I have the 2010 3.8GT. It's the most joyously fun car to drive that I have ever had the pleasure of driving. I test drove the C230, the Z3, the Boxster, the M3 and the G35 and 37. While some of the pricier models may have a slight edge if you;re a professional driver, the average person simply can't tell any difference, except to say that I liked the GenCoupe better. The interior is near perfect, the handling is exceptional, even at speeds over 120, and I routinely get 28MPG. Near perfect.
@Texarmageddon I'm saying the car is near perfect. I probably should have separated those two comments a little bit. I just changed out to Royal Purple motor oil and am looking for a little boost in the mileage.

I drive a 2010 Red GC 3.8 GT stock. it drives so nice its CRAZY. its brand new and so far no problems. but she drives so nice i find it hard to imagine her having any problems at all!
All of the Hyundai models we get in Canada are made in Montgomery Alabama...are they not? That would make them American cars, not Korean. Just the same as Benz, VW, Kia, etc. You can call them German or whatever but Benzs and VW are as American as apple pie.

Why is that I am able to drive a faster 1/4 time in my 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 R-Spec on a slightly wet drag strip? I have seen better 0-60 times too for the same car.

@CemetaryGatesML The Genesis coupe is no faster on a track or in a straight line that the V6 Mustang. Even though the stang is heavier, less aerodynamic and uses a live rear axel. Somehow the V6 stang is more fuel efficient too.
I know the Genesis is a good car however they should lower the pricing on it. Because there's a few more cars that the average person would get with that kind of money instead. I guess it's just a matter of taste.

Front is stealen from lexus is in my opinion. It's a nice car, but i won't ever buy hyundai. I would rather pay 2-3 times more to get Audi - at least i know i can rely on it. For example A5 S-Line with 3.0 tdi engine. It has better performance, it's much better looking and costs only about 2 times more...

And, in Europe, a 305 bhp Hyundai Genesis Coupe costs 33.000 €, which is about 40.000$. I don't know how much these two cars cost in the US but I can tell that the Genesis must be costing anyway half of the BMW. That's why many people would pick that. And this Hyundai is a very good product, german or not.

same car in US market. Lexus sc400.
and i think the z40s had a v8 as well. but those were introduced in US before Japan.

I test drove this car last night. Drove it real hard. And honestly it felt cheap and incomplete. I had high hopes for the Genesis. But it has a lot to prove. Until I see one with 450,000 kms the car will remain a prototype. The Intrgra has proven itself to be a perfectly engineered car hitting 500k

Why does everyone care how common some cars are? If the car is a great car then thats all that matters..5.0 Mustang for example, for around 30 grand you get a car that out performs cars double the price. Who care's if you see them a lot, that's because everyone loves them! The genesis coupe is a great car..but overpriced. Not the best bang for the buck. Spend another few thousand and get a 370.

@Redsummersun611 I wanted to get a 5.0, but even in Arizona (where more 5.0's are sold than anywhere else), I was unable to get a suitable package for "around 30k". Also it is ludacris to say you get a 370 for "another few thousand". To compare apples to apples - you would need to spend around $45k to get a similar package to the Genesis (nav, leather, brembo). I agree the Z is better - but they are also different cars (the geneis is 2+2). The 5.0 is by far the best bargain. I got the Genesis.

The 2012 mustang gt has a 5 liter v8 and starts at 29 grand. It has 400 some horses and 390 ft-lbs of torque for about the same price. It's a way better choice.

I have the 2010 3.8GT. It's the most joyously fun car to drive that I have ever had the pleasure of driving. I test drove the C230, the Z3, the Boxster, the M3 and the G35 and 37. While some of the pricier models may have a slight edge if you;re a professional driver, the average person simply can't tell any difference, except to say that I liked the GenCoupe better. The interior is near perfect, the handling is exceptional, even at speeds over 120, and I routinely get 28MPG. Near perfect.

I drive a 2010 Red GC 3.8 GT stock. it drives so nice its CRAZY. its brand new and so far no problems. but she drives so nice i find it hard to imagine her having any problems at all!

@CemetaryGatesML The Genesis coupe is no faster on a track or in a straight line that the V6 Mustang. Even though the stang is heavier, less aerodynamic and uses a live rear axel. Somehow the V6 stang is more fuel efficient too.
I know the Genesis is a good car however they should lower the pricing on it. Because there's a few more cars that the average person would get with that kind of money instead. I guess it's just a matter of taste.

The3.8 engine is rated at 306hp on regular but 312hp on premium, yet I cannot find a single test run of the car using premium gas. InsideLineVideo made a big deal about the 2011 Mustang V6, rated at 306hp, as, and I quote, "One horsepower higher than the Camaro!"
If anyone knows of any comparison test using premium gas in a Genesis 3.8, please post it here.

Front is stealen from lexus is in my opinion. It's a nice car, but i won't ever buy hyundai. I would rather pay 2-3 times more to get Audi - at least i know i can rely on it. For example A5 S-Line with 3.0 tdi engine. It has better performance, it's much better looking and costs only about 2 times more...

And, in Europe, a 305 bhp Hyundai Genesis Coupe costs 33.000 €, which is about 40.000$. I don't know how much these two cars cost in the US but I can tell that the Genesis must be costing anyway half of the BMW. That's why many people would pick that. And this Hyundai is a very good product, german or not.

The Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde is a much better car, even though it has very little to share with the 335i Coupè we were talking about.
