I come from a long line of men who served in the military, all the way to my great grandfather (Union army), Grandfather (WW1) and my father (WW2) and of course myself (Vietnam). They all came home and as the saying is constantly said amongst soldiers "....the real heros are the ones who did not come home.." rest in peace all commrades in arms.

I would like to point out that most of the civilian casualitie numbers are 1) estimates, there is no actual count of civilians deaths from anyone. Therefore believe nothing you see online. 2) most of the estimates are a total of all American involvment in the middle east. Which isnt saying much, but many people make out the big numbers as the number of deaths every month or week. Which its not.

I dont know why anyone would disrespect a soldier, their the reason why we have our freedoms, they give up their lives just so people can live a normal life and they take it for granted, I'm tired of it, maybe if they saw everything from a soldiers point of view they would understand and feel privileged to be an american and have freedoms unlike most countrys

@gaylordNL In all honesty, its terrible. We try our best, but civilians still die. I would like to point out that most of the civilian casualitie numbers are 1) estimates, there is no actual count of civilians deaths from anyone. Therefore believe nothing you see online. 2) most of the estimates are a total of all American involvment in the middle east. Which isnt saying much, but many people make out the big numbers as the number of deaths every month or week. Which its not.

@katarn201 the point is we tried. if we act like terrorists, we're faced with more terrorists. you never know what small thoughtles kind did might turn the war. a friend of mine came back with a story: he'd been visiting this one village several times a week for seven months, helping the villagers with problems like wild animals takeing their stok, bringing meds to sick elders and teaching children how to brsh their teeth. one morning they were attacked by taliban just outside of the village

My dad and brother both died in the same week in 2009 serving with the british army in Afghanistan, I miss them both :( My dream is to fight for my country and mother! Im failing everything at school and I try so hard for my mother, I told her what my dream is but she wont allow me to join the british army and fight because she says she is scared of loosing me aswell! An ex-marine once told me his spirit guided him through the battle field but before he stepped away from the field of brothers and death, he felt some one grab his shoulder and when he turned to look, he seen his own spirit running away from him towards the brothers he was leaving behind, then he said as his spirit ran the other way he was waving bye to him, he then stepped on the helicopter waving back, now that marine is lost in life without his spirit, he is not the same nowdays.

Don't hate the soldiers, they're there because they want to fight for what they believe in. The government is where the corrupted sit, that is where the orders come from, they're the ones who make bad decisions...and if soldiers don't comply they could be sent to jail for life. If you think this country would prosper from having no protection whatsoever, then you better check our standing with other counties; do your research...remember what the Japanese said when asked why they didn't invade?
