I know I should not say this, or maybe it has no relevance but I had a recent ASL teacher who denotes himself as Hispanic by origin however considers himself White American in a way because he has no affiliation or association with that culture. You can tell he favors white people over other people or show a sense of connection to them IDK. They say you should not call that out or make apparent of race but the teachers do.
