  • It's pity that orthodox can hardly be reached in Hong Kong!

  • One kiss for my orthodox brothers from Nord Italy

  • Orthodoxy = the faith of the apostles!

    From Brazil, brothers!

  • Marriage in the Christian tradition held an ambiguous position . Most Early Christians believed that it was best to not become married; but, believed that if they did, they did not sin, as Paul overruled in 1Cor. 7:28 & Heb. 13:3-4. Paul talks along with Jesus in 1Tim. 5:11,13, then overrules Him it in verse 14. Jesus and His Disciples directly stated in Matt. 19:10-12 that “it is not good to marry.” Indeed , those writers of gospels were reluctant and each give a unclear and unlogical words!

  • im just now finding about the orthodox church and i love it already

  • Thank God for Monasticism!!!!!!!

  • @AnnElizabethO God has nothing to do wirth monasticism.

  • @vottiaia Actually, yes God has EVERYTHING to do with Monasticism. Christ is the one who said to forsake the world. And as you know, Christ was God, and man. So yes, God has everything to do with monasticism.

  • @5692Nate21 The Greek verb monazo means living like a wild animal. And remember christians vwere admonished to be in the world but not of the world. By living isolated a monk offers nothing to the betterment of society or the world. That would be equivalent to hiding your light under the bed. And if you offer nothing what good are you but like salt that lost its flavor, you are of no use.

  • @vottiaia The Greek word "Mono" means solitary. And it is said in the Church that the most important job in the world is Monasticism. This is because im sure as you know, it is very hard to find time to pray in this busy world. And even though we are supposed to "pray w/o ceasing" (St. Paul) we dont. The monks do, and the monks pray for US as well. So their prayers help us! If you are looking for more practical things they do, they create icons, write books on theology, and other things.

  • @5692Nate21 If you read early church history, you will see that monasticism was unknown in the earlt times. It was later adopted as a practice. I am trying to look at it from a realistic point of view, or if you want, nationalistic. I am seing no benefit to the Greek state from that practice. So, if I wanted to be a credit to my country, I could not participate in monasticism

  • @vottiaia Actually you are incorrect. If you read early church history you will see scores of men who go into the wilderness to live a hermits life. St. Anthony for example in 251. There were men before this who lived as monks one being John the Baptist. The first legislature of monasticism was St. Basil the Great. You are correct in the regard that if you want secular power, or as you put it "benefit to your country" monasticism does not help you. Monasticism is for the next life, not this one.

  • @5692Nate21 Jesus though did not teach monasticism. Should we do something because it has been done before, or because it makes us better and a good example to others? And I was not talking at all about secular power, instead, I was referring to being a credit to my country and my culture, a responsible citizen. Monasticism may benefit those who believe, but at the same time it takes away from the rest in talent, manpower, and culture. Look what happened to Byzantium eventually.

  • @vottiaia Yes Jesus did teach monasticism when he said forsake the world. And the fall of Byzantium really had nothing to do with Monasticism, at Mt. Athos's peak there were like 10,000 monks there. 10,000 people is hardly enough to blame a downfall of a empire with millions of people, and a much <150,000 man army.

  • @5692Nate21 He did not teach to leave the world though. And mt Athos ( what an irony, it belongs to Mary mother of Christ and yet women are not allowed) per say is not the reason. The reason was, when the church, with the help of the roman state forcibly took over the ancient temples, they took over all land, herds etc, but without paying taxes. The church ended up later with many properties, but no tax revenue for the state. Simply, Byzantium could not afford to maintain proper defences.

  • @5692Nate21 Does this sound familiar today? It is the same situation. Church has material property, on greek land, for example, but the priests are considered public employees and are paid by the state (if you doubt that you can check their tax status), form the fund for civil servants, yet the church as a body does not contribute. So you have a big part of the country, run by the church, and as such, not subject to contributions either in tax or use. history repeating...

  • @vottiaia i dont know what Greece does with their government. However you need to realize that religion is so important to Orthodox, that it doesnt matter about worldly money.

  • @5692Nate21 i guess the question would be First country and then religion or the other way around?

  • @vottiaia that is true, and the way Orthodox Christians look at it, Religion comes before all.

  • What monastery were these pictures taken at?

  • @Euchrid1973

The photos were taken at the Sihastria Putnei (Putna Cloister)monastery, from the northen part of Romania.

    w.sihastriaputnei.ro

  • ce manastire e acolo in primele poze???

  • Foarte frumos;

    si foarte linistitor!

    Doamne ajuta!

  • @phyziscify sort of way. I strongly believe that our God is a loving God and would deny that many people that follow Christ, even if it is not the Orthodox way. Though the Orthodox has been the best way (as you and I believe). Example: Traveling from New York City to Boston you can take a lot of ways. Straight from NYC to Boston or you can take a long circle. I think that Orthodoxy is a sure way to get to Christ and be fullfilled and others are a round about way. That is relative however.

  • @phyzicsify Yes I understand that (and no worries, I know you're not trying to reprimand :) ). I believe that it is a fullness of the faith (or else I would not be Orthodox) however I do believe that are other ways to Christ because there are many different types of Christianity - and for a reason. There are lot of types of churches and a lot of different types of people which I believe God allows so that everyone can attend something that is close to their culture and feel fullfilled in some

  • @dkurmanov If there is a problem wouldn't you go right to the root of the problem? If you wanna find out how far your lineage extends, wouldn't you trace it back to the root of were it started? Orthodox is the first Christian church made by the original apostles. Peter and Paul started the orthodox church in a city called Anthioch in the year 55, thats is when the word Christian was ever used.Wut i'm trying to say is everybody can find the true Church of Christ. Follow the roots and you will see

  • @mikemoms I do not agree personally. I am more progressive in the idea of how problems should be solved because this age has different problems than that of the 2nd or 3rd century. Although the Orthodox Church (I believe) is pretty dang close to the "first" church I do not think it actually matters that much. The importance is what and who we follow but not who followed first. I love the Orthodox Church, it has very many very devout people that have amazing lives and writings.

  • @TheChristianView @shota137 The Orthodox Church claims to be predenominational and to trace its roots back all the way to the beginning of the church. I am Orthodox and I do not agree with that statement, if anything we have a case for the "closest" but either way it doesn't matter who was first. Biblical teaching is open minded, in a Christian sense and the Orthodox Church does understand that. Most priests I have spoken to will never say that the only way to Heaven is the Orthodox Church

  • @dkurmanov

True, but it has been repeatedly said that those outside of the Church do not have the fullness of the faith, and thus their practices cannot be guaranteed as salvic. Also, why don't you agree with the statement that we are the One Holy Apostolic and Catholic Church? The patriarchs of Jerusalem, Antioch, Alexandria and Constantinople all can trace themselves back in history (just as Rome does to Peter).

I'm not trying to reprimand, just understand.

  • @dkurmanov The only way to true Christ is the Orthodoxy. There is only way to Heaven, and it is LOVE. Muslims, Hindus Jews..I suppose they all can go to Heaven.

  • @Nemija no they can't becaUSE they do not believe in Jesus Christ! It clearly states in the Bible that Jesus is the light, the truth and the way and whoever believes in him will inherit the kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world!! Meaning if you don't believe in him and that he died to end our captivity, you have no salvation. So simple! Muslims don't believe in him jews are still waiting for their messia hindus well maybe that big man(budda) they worship might save them lol.

  • @mikemoms Well, all we can do is suppose.. The truth is that we do not tell to God whom to save and whom not to save. And that "lol" at the end..why? One should not rejoice for people not knowing Christ.

  • @mikemoms You along with everyone who thinks following Christ's steps is simple, seek deeper. You can never reach Jesus, as he only can reach you. If you have the chance to speak to elder orthodox monks, I warmly recommend you to do so... it will change your point of view.

  • Beautiful and evocative. This speaks deeply to a seeker like myself. Could someone tell me who it is that is performing the music?

  • @mustardbush

if you will read just few comments below, will find the answer!!hoppe this help!Regards!filica sv

  • @filicasv

thanks for that. Yes I should have been more observant of the preceding comments. Peace.

  • patrunzator...!!!!

  • God bless our brothers and sisters in Christ.

  • @GirlsBlack2000 Despre cei ca voi vorbeste unde mentionezi in Isaia.

  • Yes: Superb, superb, superb!!!!!! :D

  • Superb Superb Superb !

  • wat is monasticism?

  • From the Greek 'monos' which means alone. Monasticism was originally practiced by monks in Egypt who withdrew from the world to pray God continuously. Most now live in monasteries, in groups, but they continue to dedicate their whole life to God.

  • A Monastic an individual who gives up worldly attachments and desires to live a life of spiritual perfection either in a community or in solitude. Monasticism is is the belief system attitudes around such ideas.

  • pt lctgligor

  • Life can be resumed in a few seconds...

    Eternity can't.

Personal, sunt adeptul unei atitudini mult mai intransigente, cred ca-i cazul sa ripostam dur.

  • pt lctgligor

  • very beautiful. Wonderufl voice. Who is singing this???

    Greetings,

    Claudia

  • DIVNA LJUBOJEVIC from Serbia.

  • frumos vorbesti drept credinciosule

  • JEHOVAH....lol...ce sa zic...nah noi nu criticam dar uitate si tu..toate cacaturile astea....protestanti,neoprotestantzi...martori....ce martori ma...dao....:) Iisus is the true Lord [I prefer to believe in something and be wrong, rather than not believe in anything..]

! Acesta este adevărul

  • only orthodox, Peace in Christ!

  • question for PhaqtebiDaBiblia

who are you???are you a roman catholic or

    protestant???are you a muslim or a jew???

    plese tell me

  • Let him be. :)

As I heard someone say once, "I prefer to believe in something and be wrong, rather than not believe in anything."

  • Comment removed

  • pray night and day my brothers...Peac with you

  • i love serbs and a im so happy to be one

  • Greece loves Serbia also! Orthodox Brothers and Sisters for life.

  • you are wrong. it is only holy trinity, and that`s all. tell me, when Iisus Hristos, take the children in his arm and said only those like him will come in heaven kingdom, what byblical study had the litlle one. none. and he is an exemple. think about it.

  • Jesus meant that if any one wants to be in heavenly kingdom must be like an children not like like a religion leaders of the first century who had two faces. Children are honest.

  • children have a pure heart and a pure love and they obey to the Iisus Hristos command wihtout questions. That is the key to the kingdom of heaven. your all knowledge about byble means nothing beside a simple people who make cross, kiss a icon and say " God help me "

  • If bible knowlidge would not be very important God would not give it to mankind. You are fanatics and you have changed True God to Icons. Its shame!!! Exodus 20.

  • God gave the Bible to the Church, not to be distributed to the ends of the Earth by schismatics, heretics, and non-Christians. You cannot understand the Bible if you do not have the mind of the Church it was written in.

  • Matthew 7:21-23: Not everyone saying to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

  • And you have never considered that this verse could apply to you? Eastern Orthodox Tradition consistently promotes meditation on the way we try to perform Godly acts without first aqcuiring the heart of Christ. This sort of meditation promotes humility, the one thing we need to follow Christ.

  • @EverythingZen14 :

    Good luck you :)

  • Forgive me.

  • Don't let yourself get drawn into Protestant dialectic.

  • That's ok, not even worth bothering, as good luck isn't from God, as one of our Fathers used to say. :)

  • Sory but I have to tell you truth. You are in illusions.

  • Typical aproach of a jahova, full of lies.

Icons are just asymbols depicting people who lived pure lives, close to God doing the will our Father.

We the sinners should learn from them follow their examble and bestow respect and honour to them. Amen

  • Who decided what books were to be in the Bible of the many that were in circulation? The Orthodox Church. Learn the history of Christianity. If you don't trust Orthodox tradition, you cannot trust the Bible. You will be standing on a hill of sand. If there is a true church, it is the Orthodox Church.

  • Amen!

  • I'm not too familiar with the Orthodox Church, however I am very interested in it. I was raised in a protestant denomination and am now an Episcopalian but I am intrigued and drawn to the Orthodox Church. I do believe it is the true church.

  • yes it is.. one and truly-only!

  • glad to see this

go and make the baptism for orthodoxy

    don`t loose your time

    God bless you brother

come to orthodoxy the only way to heaven

  • I would suggest you contact your nearest Orthodox parish and talk to the priest. Attend the services and ask God to lead you in the direction He wants for you. If it is Orthodoxy then this will become clear. Do not rush yourself.

  • Then God Bless you if you think so, convert to holy Orthodoxy.

  • @TheChristianView orthodoxy is really true religion, no one will go to heaven without orthodox teachings

  • @TheChristianView Great brother! Sad that Luther didn't return to the original church, the Orthodox one.

  • You made a breath taking point, Orthodoxy is the "True Faith".

  • I JOHN 5:

"7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

MATTHEW 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: "

    THIS IS TRUE, NOT jehovah!

  • nice video

  • woow very nice video

  • love.

  • Slava Gospodu.

  • Do you know where I can get an original copy of a CD with this music? In Christ, +Andrianna

  • Beautiful! Orthodoxy forever!

  • What does "Defte Lai" actually means? I don't understand greek, but the song is wonderful...

The only websites I found were French so I can't help you, sorry.

  • this is so beautiful.. thanks for sharing
