Hitler never actually fought any battles after WW1. He sent the men of German to their deaths all across Europe. The last battle was the futile defense of Berlin. He killed himself during that one. While the Germans won many battles, not defeating Great Britian, invading the Soviet Union and having the United States enter the war were all more nails in the coffin for Germany. The Nazis seemed to live in a state of permenant delusion about their chances.

@hfosneter You make it sound like Russia did the most work. Remember, Russia was on the axis side until they were attacked by Germany. So basically they were the enemy for about 2 years. Stalin would have also been tried in the Nuremburg trials as a mass murderer if he hadn't moved over the the allied side. Before you start taking all the credit, look over your history first.

Guys, I would like your assistance. I have to a report on the defeat of Hitler. Basically, what battles led to Hitlers defeat. I read about The Battle of, Stalingrad, but Hitler certainly lose already when we go all the way back to the early 1940's. I believe it was the Battle of the Bulge. That was a last ditch effort that severely damaged his army in the western front. Any other battles? Oh and what was the last battle Hitler fought?
@AfroGangsta10 Stalingrad was pretty much the downfall because the Germans couldn't recover the manpower. Also the Battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle in history in 1943 to stabalize the eastern front caused the Germans to lose alot of tanks that couldn't be recovered. The last battle was the Battle of Berlin which was pretty epic, where thousands of Germans fought to death, and ended with Hitler shooting himself in his bunker on April 30th, 1945. Eight days after that the war ended.

From then you could go on listing all of Germany's defeats, but I think that's not what your teacher wants.

If hitler just listened to his generals who were out in the field instead of fighting to the death..Pulling back to a better defensive position the war would have lasted alot longer .When the german armies got surrounded they surrendered in mass droves hundreds of thousands at a time hence shorting the war for them in my opinon

Hitler never actually fought any battles after WW1. He sent the men of German to their deaths all across Europe. The last battle was the futile defense of Berlin. He killed himself during that one. While the Germans won many battles, not defeating Great Britian, invading the Soviet Union and having the United States enter the war were all more nails in the coffin for Germany. The Nazis seemed to live in a state of permenant delusion about their chances.

@hfosneter You make it sound like Russia did the most work. Remember, Russia was on the axis side until they were attacked by Germany. So basically they were the enemy for about 2 years. At a time that Germany was under the Treaty of Versailles In which case The following counties had rights to attack Germany after the ww1 broken Treaty by attacking spain in 1936

Guys, I would like your assistance. I have to a report on the defeat of Hitler. Basically, what battles led to Hitlers defeat. I read about The Battle of, Stalingrad, but Hitler certainly lose already when we go all the way back to the early 1940's. I believe it was the Battle of the Bulge. That was a last ditch effort that severely damaged his army in the western front. Any other battles? Oh and what was the last battle Hitler fought?

@AfroGangsta10 Stalingrad was pretty much the downfall because the Germans couldn't recover the manpower. Also the Battle of Kursk, the largest tank battle in history in 1943 to stabalize the eastern front caused the Germans to lose alot of tanks that couldn't be recovered. The last battle was the Battle of Berlin which was pretty epic, where thousands of Germans fought to death, and ended with Hitler shooting himself in his bunker on April 30th, 1945. Eight days after that the war ended.

@azazel87 The Main battles were Battle of Britain 1940,(Biggest Air-Battle in History) El Alamein 1942,(British Forces crushed and humiliated the Axis forces in N.Africa) Also Stalingrad,Kursk,Lenningrad(Soviets wiped out the main Axis Forces) . By 1942, The Axis Armies had been mostly wiped out and by 1943 things were so desperate. Battle of the Bulge wasnt a major battle of the war, They were Kids,Old men,Forced concripts they didnt even have an Air-Force or Fuel,Food.

Since there are a lot of historically incorrect replies to your query, I'll try to clear things up.
The Battles of Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk were the turning points on the Eastern front (Russia). The Battle of El Alamein (North Africa) was decicive for the africain campaign. Do mention the allied landing in France too. Hitlers last battle was the battle of Berlin.
From then you could go on listing all of Germany's defeats, but I think that's not what your teacher wants.

The Battle of Britain sure was an important defeat, since it meant that Britain would not see a german invasion. It is however no turning point since it did not shift the balance of power on the western front.
The Battle of the Bulge was the last major offensive where Hitler tried to regain the initiative on the Western front, but it ended in a defeat.

Was mostly Kids,Old men,Forced concripts they didnt even have an Air-Force of basic things like Fuel or Food. The Mains battles were against the British in N.Africa and the Soviets in the East. If Axis Alliance had defeated British Empire they would have defeated Russia and the U.S.A, However they failed 1940.

@martynrobin121 thats a lie the german army was large on the whole french coast and was of actual soldiers, its just that they were spread thin along the whole coast, and they were too weak and any invasion of germany(like in africa) wouldnt have been possible without americas help AND america is the reason that russia didnt loose the war we supplied them with the weapons and technology they used to finally get an advantage over germany, which means without us, the liberation of france also -

@napbonaparte1805 The British were winning in N.Africa when the Americans arrived, They had crushed and humiliated the Axis in Egypt,Libya and Rommel lost most of his Tanks,Air-Craft,Resources and FUEL! The British also sent Russia resources,supplie,Tanks,Air-Craft. And British and Soviets were winning the war when American troops arrived, It was the Soviets and British who done the most against the Axis Alliance.

@martynrobin121 yeah they were winning in AFRICA , when hitlers main strength was in germany, so britian was only able to fight in africa when the US gave britian tanks guns and money so they could build up an army to fight rommel and whoever the italian general was and normandy wouldnt have been possible without the american troops to lead the way and the US sent most of the supplies and techs and the US actually supplied all of the transport trucks to the USSRso they could blitz germanyand win

Do you think that the British didnt have Industry,Resources?? The Lendlease from U.S to British Empire started 1941! And YES most Trucks Russia used was America, Also most Tanks Russia used after Barberossa was British till 1943. Both America and British Empire sent Russia Air-Craft,Resources,Supplies,etc etc.

@martynrobin121 eh.. lets just say germany didnt even really have a main force anymore because in both theatres, his armies were in full retreat, and i know that britian had the recourses and industry, its just that the US had more to spare they had more man power than britian so they didnt need as large of a tank force, and i thought the tanks that russia used until the T-34 were older pre WW2 tanks? im not exactly sure tho :P

@AfroGangsta10 Many say it was the Battle of Britain the defeated Germany. By failing to capture England before attacking USSR, Germany was forced to fight on 2 or more fronts. It also gave the Allies a perfect place to train and prepare for D-Day and meant the British (and later the U.S.) were able to fight in North Africa then Italy. British factories continued to pour out bombers, fighters, tanks etc. If England was gone, they wouldv'e been able to concentrate all forces in USSR

The invasion of Russia could have succeeded if he had made an effort to gain the support of the civil population. Turning points like Stalingrad, El Alamein, and the defeat of the u-boats in the spring of 1943 were therefore the inevitable result of Hitler's lack of resources and his extreme ideology.
