maybe some things are not play as tight as they used to be played.. but let's be real, you can't expect someone to play the exactly the same as 20 years ago right? style changes slightly, you just hit the notes different. and your fingers start to rust after a while ANd there is no real backing band, wich changes dynamics in music.

his guitar tone is actually really godly. But he is louder than the rest of the band which makes it sound a little messy. But hes actually doing a terrific job especially if hes moving around and shit.

Yngwie may be a good (not really on this video) shredder and inventor of neoclassical style and whatever else he is, but in fact he is emotionless. He's acting like a big-head teen. It could be seen on G3 2003 in Denver, he just didn't keep up with Satch's and Vai's sound. That's why he hasn't been in G3 ever since.

Also that was a decide they make.. I just want to say that everything that were done on the stage at G3 Denver 2003 was as they were practice like earlier.

Yeah theres definetely a huge deficit of sound quality! Its like really raw like as if hes playing through a 25$ amplifier he picked up at a pawn shop! Expensive sound backing really does just that!

This is taken direct off the board, no effects. Any guitarist live , you will hear all the misfrets, random noises etc on the direct signal. You'd be surprised. Nonetheless, i can assure you his playing here is tops. Try listening to Kirk Hamett's direct signal, and youll think its a 12 year old playing.

The only reason why it's better live is because there is alot of noise to cover his mistakes. This is an isolation of his guitar playing so you can hear every single little mistake.

Seriously, this is awful! I'm sure it didn't sound like this on the day. That's the kind of tone you hear in your local guitar store, when some kid who blatantly can't play is trying to shred.

Don't forget, sometimes the audio recording can affect how things sound. If I play this through VLC media player and call up some of the eq presets it sounds a lot better.

It sounds very flat like an outdoor gig. Get a bit of reverb and increase the treble and it sounds o.k.

@yngwieisking Every now and then you get a day where everything goes wrong. Sound is off, your pick slips, and you feel so crap. I played a gig once where we were promised gear, and when we got there is wasn't what we expected. We were first to play and the amps weren't warmed up so I had very little drive and warmth.

This is clearly recorded directly from the soundboard, and it's fully raw and unprocessed sound so no wonder it sounds so dry and bad. His tone live in this particular venue was very different from what we can hear from soundboard recording. I can't believe people do not realise this when they say somebody's tone sucks.

@yngwieisking Well usually when people play live they usually rely on the reverb and acoustics of the stage to cover their mistakes so they could be more loose when playing live. E.G. all of the moving. I'm pretty sure he could play this flawlessly if he sat in one spot and concentrated entirely on playing the song. That goes for pretty much every guitarist.
