I got my CWB for Ontario. I just graduated for welder fitter. I got my 4 position stick and 2 position MIG. Would it be hard to get a job up there?? How much would I start at. Anyone?

I second that. I've got my 6G all position SMAW, and 1F horizontal GMAW. I'm currently welding scissor lifts, but I'm looking for something more lucrative. I understand Alberta usually either wants apprentices or Red Seal welders, but is there any exception?

if you want a welding job in alberta,joinnnnnnnnnnnnn the UA or the boiler makers and get a red seal.and work hard if that happenes.

Funny you should mention that. About a month after I posted that comment I was laid off, and offered a job in Nisku. I'm just doing manufacturing stuff for the moment, but it still means I'm out here with my foot ready for some doors when this recession's over.

My teacher was hired in alberta for some pipeline job,he didnt have his red seal he just knew how to weld high pressure pipes and was good at all types of welding,give it a try they might hire you whi knows.
