I lived on a New Age commune back in the late 70s for a while after I got out of the Army. I believe it must have been important for the spiritual growth of my hippy girlfriend for me to put her over my knee and spank her for doing stupid stuff or she never would have manifested me in a higher state of consciousness to do it, right?
