He really is a slimey cunt. Just like most Labour MPs a filth lying hypocrite. I think he should run as a Labour candidate next election. After all many of the Fib dems are ex-Labourites like Shirley Williams (the assassin of state education)
I just hope by the time I go to uni that there is a new government that stick to their promises and lower fees at least a little (or abolish them completely). Students wont be voting for the two coward parties again.
@Georgia Until the monopoly of the three parties are abolished when people stop voting like sheep then there will be hope. All 3 parties support fees all 3 have lied to the public. Whatever you do DON'T vote Labour this party is the one that introduced fees in 97 then trippled them in 2001 when they promised not to. They also took away scholarship funds for smart poor children to go to private schools. They are the root of all what is wrong in Britain today, the other two are merely symptoms
Essentially, the gist of what he's saying is "David Cameron told me to vote for it, so I did." This 'man' is not fit to be in parliament. He's a digraceful, spineless coward and he lied through his teeth.
I like the bit where he says "Student's will pay NOTHING! You only pay it back when you earn enough money!!!". So we pay it then Nick! Grow a clue!
The way he's so indignant about how pissed everyone is at him makes me sick too. He's a waste of space and an embarrasment.
Mr Clegg, you use the fact that the lib dems got 23% of the vote. The tories got 36%, only 13% more. Labour got 29%. Assuming that most Labour voters don't want an increase in tuition fees, 23 + 29 = 52% of people who don't want to TRIPLE tuition fees - there is NO mandate for cameron to triple fees, and you shouldn't be supporting the decision to do so - especially as this was the main policy area which got you into westminster in the first place!!!!!
Any Lib Dem promise depending for fruiton on the Lib Dems forming a government on their own, is about as meaningfull as a street busker singing "if i ruled the world". When Clegg found himself in the only possible scenario (a minority part of a coalition) where he could keep or break his promise, he did the latter. Why now should we take seriously anything they ever said, including their opposition to the invasion of Iraq?.
Does this guy think we're stupid? How is paying 30k for a degree fairer than paying 9k for a degree? Even if u dont pay up front a student has to pay back 3 times the amount, for most of their adult life. Also they're likely to get a mortgage on a house and pay sky high tax rates. Its not like tuition fees are the only things theyr going to pay for after they get their degree!!
Pay for your own degree and get over it you annoying douches, the world doesn't owe you fucking shit, and throwing a tantrum isn't convincing anyone otherwise..
@geir44 Fantastic! So all I have to do is remain unemployed my whole life!? Why would I want any money??? Surely my money is better put to use in paying for public services! Oh, wait, they're being cut anyway :S
Every Lib Dem MP who votes in favour of raising the cap should repay the cost of their own taxpayer-funded university education. To keep it simple each MP should pay the proposed maximum fee-cap for each year that they were at university and gift the money to the university they attended. The only stipulation should be that the university must use the money as a bursary to fund the education of a student from a disadvantaged background. Oh, and a full and unqualified apology would also be nice.
a culture of entitlement revolts when they're told they actually have to work to get what they want. wut? my degree doesn't guarantee me a job? wut? my existence doesn't guarantee me a higher education? wut?

'We didn't win the election'
Neither did the Tories, outright. And yet it's only Conservative policies coming through, without even a feeble protest from him, somehow.

@TruthSavvy Well the Tories did win, just not with an overall majority. With Clegg on board it's a different story.
