The magnificent Stephanie Beacham as the ever fascinating Sable. I sincerely believe that had Dynasty been renewed for some more seasons, Beacham could easily have replaced both Collins and Evans as the center of the show. Think about it - Alexis was written as pure evil, Krystle as pure good... and Sable as shades of both. Sable could have become the anti-heroine of the show, and moved center stage to carry it.

@AdArmand Good observation. I've always felt the same way. Sable was pretty horrible when she was married to Jason. But by the time she moved to Denver she was a different woman altogether.

Sable was allowed to show her tender and vulnerable side as well as her strength and toughness, that she could match Alexis sniping with even better comebacks.

Sable was the more balanced of Alexis and Krystle. And Sable had a distinct personality of her own that set her apart.

@AdArmand Oh I agree with you. I was not liking Dynasty so much in seasons 7 and 9. While I still watched it was getting dull. Once Sable came along man that SPARKLE was put right back in. She was classy, tough, SEXY feminine and SMART. She was a better actress than Joan Collins. In my mind She saved Dynasty in season 9. I was pissed off that it was cancelled.

What killed the scene it that the editing sucks. The shoot was done with more than 1 camera filming the same scene from different vantage points. In the end, the scene is looped with inconsistent footage. People jump around and switch positions throughout the entire clip.

I remember "Dynasty"! There were always catfights in it. Of course, Krystal Carrington never lost a single one - she mopped the floor with Alexis ( Joan Collins ) numerous times. This fight is more tame though. Both women are the same size. Krystal was a lot bigger! But this one's okay for action though.

If you're talking about when they are fighting arm in arm on the back of the sofa I think that had to do w/Joan. The first clip of them struggling are 2 stunt doubles. When they are shown face to face struggling the hesitation was Joan's. She is not a physical actress and shows that a great deal. The strangulation scene between Blake/Alexis was originally scripted to be much more violent but Joan said no citing a history of back problems. Some scenes suffered artisticly as a result like this 1

This is my favourite catfight from Dynasty. After years of rivalry, a physical confrontation between the two was long over-due. LOVE IT!!!

The scene is let down however by some rather bad editing, but it's V.FUNNY all the same.

I love Stephanie Beacham as "Sable". I only had wish for her to appear sooner on Dynasty (with season 8; right after the end of "Dynasty II: The Colbys"). If Dynasty had been continued, they could have shown more of Sable, re-introduced her son Miles (Maxwell Caulfield) and also could have made more use of storylines established on THE COLBYS. (The "Reunion"-2part-series was awful and the stories had no logical connection to the season 9 cliffhanger). I want a "Dynasty: Next

Generation"-series!
