Great song, indeed! I just heard it this past weekend on American Top 40: The 70s. Like taratupa73, I also think this song deserved a higher peak than #23. Should have at least hit the Top Ten - but frankly, unless you were the Bee Gees back in 1978, you were pretty much at the mercy of the pop radio audience.

On a more positive note, however, the song did peak at #3 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

7 weeks on the chart, back in the spring of '78, and peaked at only 23. Unusual for such a good song that I seem to remember got quite a bit of airplay. Pretty song, and good memories. And, I had no idea that Gene Cotton was from Columbus, just about 40 miles up the road from me, here in Marion.

I was a DJ in a little town in eastern Oregon in '78, and this was always a song I loved to play just so I could hear it again! Also, LeBlanc and Carr had a song at this time, Falling, and it's another great song. So glad to hear this once again.

Well said! There was a certain quality to much of the pop music of those days that transended generations and was always t5imeless- always fresh sounding. Even the sad songs had some sort of a bittersweet optimism that is totally lacking today....
