Jehovahs Witnesses do not necessarily have the people use their bible in the bible studies held at home. The people are encouraged to use their own bibles to confirm what they are learning. The publications are never sold and the preaching they do does not have a specific monthly hour requirement as was mentioned in the video. The only reason the preaching goes on is to let the people know what Jehovah has planned for the people on this earth and that if they desire to follow his commands that

@Wesleyskaters, now, up until the 80's, JW's WERE REQUIRED TO ASK FOR MONEY AT THE DOOR WHEN PLACING PUBLICATIONS. Tax laws changed, so they changed the way they do things. You weren't even born yet, but look it up. When you pick up your mags, you put $ into the contribution box. The WTBTS, look it up, wants you to ask for contributions for "the worldwide work" when placing literature, and you're made to lie and tell the householder the publications are "free".

They knew Scripture, they taught by memory, the Scriptures in their heads and in their hearts. Only very few, the more well-off people, could actually afford a copy of the Scriptures since there were no printing presses and it was expensive to get your own hand-copied copy.

6,35. I had noticed that the 1hr "Tuesday book/ group study" - more of a slippers && tea affair, had been ditched. I wasn't told, i seemed to pick up on this - for no good reason.

1 of the "Tuesday book studys" in a "congregation's territory" was held at the JW 'kingdom hall' itself - 1 reason being for disfellowshipped persons to attend - "they couldn't be seen going to a private house as a witness".

I'd seen full KH groups on odd nights. Guessed it a book study reconfig.

At 3,55 'Young People Ask' is mentioned by an older woman. I recall this as a running feature in Jehovism magazines. Clearly it's a stand alone publication now. It is my contention that no young people asked those questions. That no people asked at all, but that the Watchtower publishing group backward-manufactured this dynamic to bring about a intimation of inclusiveness for its youth. Clearly a cui bono, JW youths have it put to them that they should know these 'answers' bolstering JW beliefs.

Bible study is when you read a passage from the Bible and study that in the context of the Bible. Not I repeat not in the context of a book.

There is no proof that JW's are anymore law abiding than any other religious denomination. Recent court settlements with victims of Sexual Abuse shows they that. The leaders can be ruthless and merciless towards membership. Old yes, but humble? Humble men accept correction & do not claim to speak for God without proof.
