  • omg i love your accent ;]

  • U look like the doctor from the "human centipede" -.-

  • Your pronunciation of our longest word was awful :D

    But thanks for the tips!

  • I can do 30 sit ups and maybe like 1 push up :(

  • @Shadowwolf13922 lol.. me too... but i got a 4 pack and skinnny arms.. lol

  • just wondering, are you german? anyway, good info for this. im working on getting better at pushups for army.

  • @kuhleskind Yup, am German. And you'll master the push-up for sure! :)

  • @Evilcyber wunderbar! mich auch. well I am doing it now... like monday wednesday and friday and I see it slowly gets easier. but y do them on the fists? i'm trying to do them for army.

  • @Evilcyber:awesome video but can u put subtitles it;s a little fast

  • 11 People can't do a pushup.

  • Hi Mr Evilcyber,

I've been doing pushups about 2 months now... by now I'm capable of doing about 10 to 13 push ups with good form.. I normally do it every other day. I follow your routine of 3 sets. I'm wondering generally how long normally it takes until someone can actually do up to 30 pushups with good form? For example, how long it took you before you able to do more than 30? I know its different for different individual but perhaps you could give a general idea. Thank you

  • Good stuff. As a 46 year old who has been a bit out of the shape for 20 years this has been helpful. Thank you.

  • THANK YOU :D

  • hey im 12 years old and i weight 106 i can do 3 push ups and 0 sit ups please help me

  • @gunztheproz No worries: Check the teen workout plan on my site. You can find it under Workout > Home Workout Plans > Home Workout Plan For Teens.

  • Its a less built arnold!!!!

  • @49mdog Think I should run for governor? :D

  • @Evilcyber maybe mr.schwarzenegger

  • should your chest touch the ground upon each pushup? please reply, I want to do my push ups the right way...

  • @MrApplefreaker In my opinion, going down that deep isn't that good for your shoulders. You may want to stop at the point where your upper arms are parallel to the floor.

  • How long should one wait inbetween sets?

  • @LmfaoAFrog One minute.

  • i am a fat and muscleless boy 15 years old and i can do like 25~30 push ups and 2 pull ups max -.- :\ i really wanna have a good body but its too hard :\

  • @minotavar17 Heah mino, you are in a better position than I was when I started! I was fat and couldn't do 5 push-ups, let alone a single pull-up. So you already got strength and some muscle and it's now only a question of getting rid of some body fat. Don't give up! I know you can do it!

  • Hey man, when I go down while doing pushups I tend to use my back and scapula muscles for going down. Is this allowed or is it cheating??

  • @SuperOs1000 If your back is straight and if you aren't exactly rolling the shoulders, then that goes ok.

  • @Evilcyber Jazakallah khair (it means may God reward you with good) bro for the answer and may you keep making these videos for a long time to come, as they are so helpful and you really know what you're doing. Keep em coming bro!!

  • @SuperOs1000 Wa iyyaakum, my friend! You can do it! :)

  • Great Video. One question, perfect pushups. Are they good or bad?

  • @EricLynchSucks Glad you liked it! PP allow a deeper range of motion, but as you know from this video, I'm not quite a fan of hyperextending the shoulder joint. As for the rotating motion: Well, that can bring in some freshness to your push-up regime, but it is not essential. The muscles engaged that way work along as stabilizers and synergists in quite a few other exercises.

  • About how many pull ups (including chin ups) and push ups combined do you do every week.

  • @sharksice Those two exclusively, about 20 and 50, respectively, while using varying difficulty levels. But if you are looking for how often you should train chest and back, keep in mind that these are part of a larger plan where I also do chest presses, dumbbell rows, pullovers etc.

  • You are my new personal trainer for more correct fitness, im about to watch your whole playlist after this, keep it up!

  • @skump13 Thank you! All the best to you!

  • Damn, even his wrong push-ups are better than mine >.<

  • @AlphaOverLord10 You should have seen me when I started! :)

  • Awwwwww fuck my fists D:

  • @0Zcrow The pain will go away :) Seriously, you get used to it, but you might want to try some gloves or thin cushions.

  • @Evilcyber Thanks for the advice, im following your exercises :D

  • OMG haha! I missunderstood, so therefore I did 45 pushups! XD

  • @iCoNanZz Man, you deserve a break now! :D

  • How many times do we do this a week? Any responses would be helpful :)

  • @TKxEnigma I'd say three times. Ideally you make it part of my beginner plan. Check it on my site under Guides > For Beginners > Beginner Home Workout Plan.

  • Dude I know how to do pushups and I've been doing 200 every day (with rests of 1 min between the sets of course) for three months and I can tell you that I DO pushups on my hands and It hasn't really had any bad effect on my veins ....So I suppose you are giving these recommendations to beginners....

  • @MrAlbertRiera You know, not everybody who smokes gets cancer either.

  • @Evilcyber You are right I know that's the correct way I didn't mean to be annoying I just meant that I feel much more stable when doing it with my hands...And besides you always ask us in the end of your videos "Try it out and tell me how it works for you" Well that is just my opinion....

  • @MrAlbertRiera You are correct! Point taken! :)

  • Where you from? And how did you get so much views!!?

  • @nickfirst123 Germany. I think I simply made a video people like to watch :)

  • can i use my palms instead of my fists to do push ups?

  • @cyjk44 Ideally not.

  • You are an awesome person. Most of the people asks money for this stuff, but you show it for free.

    Thanks for these videos!

  • @TheEsaful Thank you! Your compliment just made my day! :)

  • Im 14 and i did 45 ground push-ups, 2 days later i still cant move my arm.

  • @abcdefghijklmnop6407 damn dude im 13, only did only did ten, and my arms hurt XD

  • I still can't do push ups.. :( I don't think my back is straight and I don't know how to fix it!

    * i have no idea how to do push ups and Im trying to learn for gym class this year so I don't look like a complete idiot.

  • @l0vedrunkx Check my video "Easy And Fast Posture Training At Home" (v=jsLVcRXDYxU). Doing those exercises should give you a pretty good feeling for when your back is straight. During push-ups you can then check against that feeling if your back is straight. What can also help is having a friend film you during push-ups and then look at where your back might go wrong.

  • so it's three sets a day?

  • @mebecallum Three sets, each for the number reps mentioned, make one session, with a 1 min break between each set.

  • so how many is a set?

  • Stuff pushups, I bench 110kg!

  • @MrPuglet To each their own ;)

  • Nice video man. Very helpful. Thank you!

  • @Prancingwolf7 Glad you found it helpful! :)

  • @EvilCyber

its kind of embarassing im 1.72cm and i weigh about 74kg how any push ups should i do daily im trying to lose weight and started going to the gym. please reply

  • @OMGxITzxEAxLazloo No worries man, you'll get there. Check my site under Guides > For Beginners > Beginner Home Workout Plan and Guides > Losing Weight > The Secret To Weight Loss.

  • hey man i have quick question, i just begun don wall push ups today and I began HIIT for 28 mins which im doing every alternate day, i need to work on my manboobs ( pathetic I know), but my question was how much time should one begin to see progress, also, should these be done everyday?

  • @HindooInvasion Heah Hindoo, to make it a complete weekly plan and settle the cardio in there, check my site under Guides > For Beginners > Beginner Home Workout Plan. It incorporates cardio and has worked quite well for a good number of people.

  • lol then someone opened the door

  • @TheRugbyFan123 You people have a sick sense of humor! ;)

  • Dude thank you this helped a lot!!!

  • @imaboss425 Glad to hear that! All the best to you!

  • But what if I can't bend my arms? I mean, I can do the wall push-up but I can't do any of the others and I realized that it was because my arm didn't have the energy to bend when doing push-ups. Any tips?

  • @TheShadowWalke I'd say you should stay with the wall push-ups until your arms have developed enough strength for knee push-ups. This should work very well if you gradually make the wall push-ups harder by further stepping away from the wall.

  • @Evilcyber Hmmm maybe =) Will try that. Thanks!

  • I can't even do one push-up, how do I practice working on being able to do them?

  • this is kinda of a stupid question, but what part of your body works when doing push ups? :P

  • @juni172 Actually that's not a stupid question at all: Push-ups mainly work your chest and another good bit comes from the triceps.

  • @Evilcyber thanks man

  • @TerminallyPsychotic Well, you are correct: Doing this by itself won't be a complete workout and I rather see it as part of the beginner's workout on my site.

  • @cybofication That's what I though at first too ! lol

  • There is one thing I need some help with - when you said 3 sets of 50, do you break between the sets or just keep going...? What is the significance of a set?

  • @mrluigibean yeah break for 1 min

  • two questions:how long should the pause between sets be and how long should you do each stage before moving on?

  • @MaleahLynn1990 One minute break between sets and you should progress when you can do the full sets on each stage.

  • thank u sir im starting this tomorrow and at first i thought this was a parody cuzthe intro made me laugh

  • @bluedragon6287 Then the intro served its purpose! ;) Let me know how it works for you!

  • sir THANK YOU VERY MUCH... VERY MUCH VERY MUCH VERY MUCH VERY MUCH

  • @heartblazer14 You are welcome :)

  • Evilcyber, i use to be able to do pushups but now i cant! im about to go to bootcamp and were not allowed to do pushups on our fists. my wrists hurt very very much when i try to do pushups. any advice?

  • @mish1020 Tough situation! From the top of my head, massaging them a bit and lightly stretching them into the opposite direction might help.

  • @cybofication Man, me and my mumbling! Glad you noticed it in time! :)

  • is it just me or are shoulder with harder than wide push ups i can do 15 reps of wide but only 10 of shoulder

  • @EvilSasuke12223 never mind i was doing them pec apart but i still was doing wide push ups

  • Dude, you are AWESOME! I would have gotten carpal tunnel syndrome if I hadn't watched this video. :D

  • Doing pushups on fists is quite painful.I can do up to 15 normal pushups i need to reach 30-50 pushups fast what i should do ?

  • may i do a little suggestion to beginners? Everything he told is true but just to give that little bit of extra try this; Position your arms at shoulder width, and take 4 chest positions: Up, lowered , halfway and down(allmost at the ground).., now do some push-ups but while ur doing them stay still for 5seconds in one of the last 3 positions either on the way up or on the way down.

  • thumps up for uaah uaah uaa3h :D

  • what a great teacher ! if any can do this or understand is cause ... are very lazzy and dumb ! thnks

  • Even his deformed pushups are better than mine.

  • @Joshb81959 Man, you should have seen me when I started...

  • @Evilcyber can i add you on facebook man???

  • @DJonX7 Sure! :)

  • Im Hungaryan, that word is the longest word what we have in our vocabulary. :) I give u credit for the spelling :)).

  • @ChainBreaker01 You mean I didn't pronounce it perfectly? ;)

  • @Evilcyber Well to be honest you have started pretty well but after that the spelling was horrible!:)

  • @Evilcyber how many times would u reccomend doing this a day/week

  • I think that after working out for a long time a lot of us probably forgot how frustrating simple things like were when we were just starting off. When I started I was trying to mimic late night fitness commercials, or the out of shape gym coach who never actually got down and demonstrated a pushup.

  • @titans091052 Yep, exactly. When you are doing it for a couple of years you kinda forget how difficult some of the things were that now seem easy.

  • ohh and btw how often are we compelled to say it ? well about 10-20 times, when we first hear it, and try to get it right ourselves xD

  • @xenonnati It took me half an hour of watching a video where a Hungarian girl was saying it until I finally got pronounced something that sounded, well, similar ;)

  • LOL Evil i never thought you'd actually do it =))

it was meant as a joke!

  • @xenonnati Heah, I had to find out if I can do it! :)

  • Thank you for this video! I struggled with push ups, so I was inspired by your video on pull ups to help me make a plan (eg replacing the negative pull ups with the knee push ups). It's great that you have made an "official" plan that I can use now!

What do you think you'll do next? Dips?

  • @whyemceeay I'm glad to hear this helped!

    A video on dips? Let's see! :)

  • Very informative videos. We actually talked on scooby forum about pushups, so i checked your website and subscribed.

    Cheers:)

  • @SyntethicSound Thanks a lot for subscribing!

  • @Evilcyber You re welcome! Feel free to check my music when you got time:)

  • I swear to God you did an Arnold impression at the end of the first pushup the one for the intro

  • @Simonjones1991 I think I have to watch that again myself :)

  • Very good video. Short and simple explonation.

  • @Bajpas92 It actually turned out longer than I thought :)

  • @MarkusAir2000 Good question! The 30 are for normal push-ups. You can go through the program I outlined here and from time to time benchmark yourself and see if you reach 30.

  • @Evilcyber Thanks alot!

  • Great video, I do disagree with one thing though. During the push-ups with your hands close together, I don't think there is any problem with leaving your elbows go behind your shoulders, as the elbows aren't flared out like in wide push-ups, they are tucked in to the body. If you look at Scooby's hip push-up video you can see that he even goes deep when the elbows are by your side.

  • @0wenSlattery Well, I think the stress on the shoulder joint is comparable.

  • Great video. Good advice for those just starting out on push ups!

  • thanks :) now bye bye im going to rest :D

  • do one for pullups! they are so hard

  • @bludwork Already done: Go to my profile and check the playlist "Fitness for Beginners" and the video "How to do Pull-ups - From Zero to Hero".

  • I do push ups on my palms, fists, grip stands and finger tips.

I've never had a problem doing them on my palms as long as your form is flawless also my biomechanics teacher told me that your wrists are in danger on the way down to the ground if you dont control your bodyweight correctly.

  • @ThePicko92 These problems don't happen over night, they take time to develop. Just be careful :)

  • I'll do that on Thursday.

  • @TheKastenbrot Let me hear how it goes! :)

  • i like the idea of controlled falling ground :)))

  • @canvargun Canvar, you are much fitter than that! ;)

  • This should be flagged for sexual content LMAO! Just kidding man, great video. I myself like to use self-made push-up stands, much more comfortable IMO.

  • @VegeXP I finally wanted to do a video where I can do some grunting, too! :)

Yep, stands can help. And I like the idea of self-made! :)

  • good vid

  • @pointbky Thanks point! :)

  • Evil, to what extent is it dangerous to extend the shoulders past the elbows? I've always thought a 'deeper' pushup is acceptable if you have the adequate strength to control the entire range of motion

  • @mcem222 Try this: Go down low and hold the position for ten seconds. Can you feel the strain on your shoulder joints?

  • @Evilcyber Actually, there is a yoga position similar to what I would be doing. Basically holding the bottom of a pushup where the chest is just short of touching the ground. I don't feel "strain," more like a stretch. Either way, I'd like to hear a more thorough explanation of why you think that position strains the shoulder joints if possible

  • @mcem222 Basically, when you go past the normal range the arm is designed to move in, the glenohumeral joint is hyperextended. This can stress or even tear the anterior joint capsule and the surrounding ligaments, which doesn't happen over night, but is more a question of slowly wearing it out, until finally one day it does tear.

The additional 10-15% of ROM you gain from the hyperextension in my opinion aren't worth risking this.

  • @Evilcyber Your knowledge on the subject is very limited and your experience is even lesser but you are arrogant enough to lecture people about it. I feel sorry for the beginners that take advice from self proclaimed fitness gurus like you!

    p.s

Show me a man who can injure himself while doing pushups and i will show you a idiot!

Show me a man who claims "slow" pushups are better and i will show you another idiot!

  • @KISA072 By Jupiter, after a year you are still harping on about how inferior my videos are. Why don't you finally go and do your own instructional videos and put the decision which are better to the people that matter - the viewers.

  • @KISA072 dont be a prick seriously.. the guy is teaching what he think is easiest
