  • That's a long freight train. 2 back engines!

  • Was the SD70ACe on the back in Dynamics or was that just the way it sounded?

  • @Railfanable no that sd70ace is in notch8

  • Would have sounded better with a pair of 37's on it

  • OMG its a regular average everyday train.... fuck you for wasting my time... put a deer in front of it n then call me... fuckin losers

  • An FRA violation? Foamers.... Do ya even know the rules? Did you tattle?

  • Try stopping this on a dime when some car is on railroad crossing.

  • I only counted 138 i feel robbed ...nice vid ..check out british rail Class 59 locos 2 locos pull 2000 tons up 1 in 30 gradient called the licky incline

  • 139 Wagons 2 Engines in Front and 2 in back..

    WOW...

  • @Supernaturalintellig you count right, 139 wagons!! boah!!

  • Awesome !

    Thats serious"railway'ing" !

  • HOLY SHIT!!

  • When SD40-2 were in charge., Trains seemed more fun and exiting to capture because you never knew what youre gonna expect. Like a B-Unit in between a consist or a Hi-Nose engine, or even an SW1500 mixed in. Or they would come up with a consist that would contain 14 different engines of different types from GP9's, cabless units to SD-60s and 6 axle extra long low hood switcher engine. Now what happened??? Same ol boring wide cabs that all look the same.

  • I FEEL CHEATED U BLOZO..

  • That came from the Corwith yard in Chicago heading to Ft. Madison IA yard, I can tell it went past the Willow springs and LPC yard

  • That was a hell of a long train!

  • thats alot of train

  • Love that final scene with the screaming SD9043MAC. Really great sound as it passes. Great catch!

  • i counted 138 carriages and 2 engins... any1 confirm that plz ????

  • @mithimax lol i was tempted to count, but ended up being too lazy.

nice to see that some1 else did :D

  • @mithimax

    yep same here bud

  • that took long anothe

  • next your gonna put a car driving down a freeway and call that a must see

  • I USED TO WORK AT MAERSK

    fuked laid me offf

  • whats so big bout a container train?

  • O.o

    full power O_o

    AMAZING :O

  • what the F*** is the track speed there!!!

  • 238 containers, jesus..

  • Gives a good indicator of just how massive the US economy really is. I'm not really into trains, but that was damn impressive!

  • u gotta be shitting me

  • whoa! dude!

  • wow look at all those maersk containers. I just watched some videos about the 114,000 horsepower Maersk container ships being built. 114,000 HP!!!!!! check it out

  • WHAT CRASH FFS???

  • this isen't so long I'v scean pic's of trains 10x as long

  • it prolly mi b!!

  • Is PROLLY a word?????

  • i never c like this

  • Distributed power trains are the best to run, especially when train consists are intermodal. I've ran them and the whine is the engineer is running rear locomotives from the lead set and he's running them at the same throttle or higher to push the train. And yes, it is a FRA violation to run a train without ditch lights. Mainline operations require you to have ditch lights.

  • That train wouldn´t fit in Luxemburg (the countrty)!!!!

  • WOW How is this in USA ? Greeting from Austria

  • that's freakin' insane...damn american trains =D

  • 130-14 :)

  • wow more then `100

  • thats impossible /.... wtf

  • wow, how long is the train then?

  • How can the train move? That is impossible!

  • I see freights run with the lights on medium all the time, it aint no dam violation. At night however it is.

Besides, its the engineers judgment on how to run his train on the road safely and effeciently, not yours!

p.s Isnt being a foamer a FRA violation?!?!

  • Well....actually yes and no. True the engineer is responsible for running his train safely and efficiently.

However, with that said he also must follow rules established by the FRA and the railroad he works for. And those rules dictate how lights, bells, horns, etc are used.

BTW - a foamer isn't necessarily an "FRA violation". But that 1 percent of the foamers who ruin it for all of them certainly makes me kick them off the property

  • -=sighs=- Just a common day stack train with common power. I don't see whats so exciting about ACe's and GEVO's. If you ask me, they are just boxes on wheels. Want real power? Give me an SD40-2, C30-7, C36-7, SD45, and any EMD GP-series. Now those are REAL locomotives, with REAL locomotive sounds.

  • IMHO, newer diesels like ACe's and MAC's, and to a lesser extent GEVO's and other GE's, give me just as much of a thrill as older ones when it comes to noise. I watched a BNSF SB unit coal train take off from Ft. Scott, KS, at night several months ago after having stopped for a new crew - they hit notch 7 or 8 (darn near, if not full throttle) about 80 yards after taking off, and DANG did those things make some noise. I want to say it was all MAC's and ACe's on that consist. OH YEAH!!!

  • if you like trains you dont care what they look like period point blank.......

  • @ALS2001

depends if those engines go to hick towns

  • that's crazy how many carts were there?

the longest train i have ever seen !!

  • We have nothing like this in the UK. I remember staying in Florida and hearing a train passing near by. It went on and on and on....that's impressive. There must be some serious power output right there - I bet it won't stop in a hurry either.

  • That thing is movin'!

  • the railcars are called maxi's

    5 units is one car

  • Comment removed

  • i used to work for Gundersons. i help make those trainds. the bnsf are five units that equals one car

  • This is the biggest fastest train I've ever seen.

  • OMG WONDERFUL

  • i just dont get what is so important abouit a train going by its just a train

  • Ok. Let me just start off by saying what's in those trailers are your flatscreen TV, iPod, Xbox, sneakers, whatever you can think of, and that's how they get to your store shelves, so you can thank the railroad for allowing you to go get that PS3 of yours from Best Buy.

  • Man she is a singing like crazy...Unusual to hear the whine that pronounced and and loud....

  • whats so great about 7753

  • It is called DPU operation or Distributed Power Units. They are ran by remote from the head end. Sometime you will see them in the middle as well. 2x2x2

  • alright, I am an 88U in the reserves, railway ops. But I dont work civilian rail. Why is there 2 locomotives on the back, I am assuming that they are pushing while the 2 MUd locomotives are pulling (obviously). I love working on the rail with the military, such a rush to get to work with so much POWER!!!

  • Yeah and helpers in the middle are usually refered to as swing helpers and also BNSF locomotive systems can't run three seperate sets of locomotives so they do not run swing helpers or mid-train helpers only front and rear units. UP runs swing helpers often here in Colorado. The rear DPUs are usually on heavier trains that are climbing to help reduce stress on the couplers and prevent straight lining.

  • Was a little surprized at the number of Maerk Line temperature controlled containers . wonder if just empty repo or they're actually running?

  • Nice whine on 8475.

  • the FRA sucks. They killed steam

  • No. The efficiencies of diesel power killed steam.

Railroads in North America are for profit enterprises. Diesel electric power is much easier to maintain and operate.

If steam power was profitable...we would be using it today.

  • VERY NICE!!! Wow, BNSF and UP engines on 1 train, how did the 2 railroads compromise on that one, lol, Nice Video!!!!

  • Power sharing is fairly common. There are computer programs that actually keep up with where they are and locomotive hours so that things 'balance out'.

If you think that is amazing...look at a typical freight train hauling railcars owned by dozens of other railroads or industries.

The "car rental" implications are amazing. Equipment cost is a huge factor for railroads.

  • Well, I know that on a freight train there are different rail cars from different rail roads. But, you know BNSF and UP, the 2 top railroad competitors in the US, with a locomotive from each, well you get the idea.

  • Actually...it's very common. I actually manage a joint BNSF/UP served facility. While they are indeed competitors...the main competitor are the trucks moving up and down the highway.

Run through power is very common between these two roads.

  • Now, there I can agree with you.

  • american muscles

  • ~130 wagons... WoW

  • yep, just counted then and 137 with the locomotives :)

  • woww,,,,,good view,,,

  • Bet that takes a while to get up to speed.

  • Why was this a must see? Its just a train for crissakes!

  • Wow that was forever. LOL!

  • Now thats getting some good gas mileage for the weight ;)

  • 128 + 4 engines

  • Great!

  • 2:41 - Finaly, the end, i thougt it s infinite...

  • Moving fast. Thats american transportation at its finest.

  • i counted 138 carriages and 2 engins... any1 confirm that plz ????

  • @mithimax I got 139 and 2 engines, but I think I could of miscounted!

  • I wouldn't be surprised if that never

  • I don't get the "must see" either?? My 1yo liked it however.

  • shit! that must be looped!?:)

  • how fast was he going? atleast 50 mph it looks

  • Those trains pass by through town where i live, very annoying catching one on the crossing because they can take upward of 5 minutes of my day sitting there.... Can make a day bad if running late.

  • So it's the train's fault that you can't manage your time?

  • Why is this a "MUST SEE"? Just to hear you bitch about ditch lights? You should apply for NS management... You see one boring stack train - you've seen them all...

  • wow thats ridiculously fast

  • is that real? looks edited cos the clouds change suddenly if you watch

  • Yeah that "change" is due to the auto iris of the camera being way too overexposed. Have you never used a video camera before?

  • oh ok

  • hahaha, hilarious...it never seem to end xD what a load!

  • what the..

  • they need some hot glue and duct tape!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol

  • imagine it crashing lol

  • woa. huge load

  • do they go thru tunnels with containers two high ??

  • yah they do

  • yeap

  • great great catch!!!!

lovely to see UP and BNSF working together 5 * and favorite

  • Sounds like the end UP unit was in Notch 8.

  • 0:39....Ain't that the truth!

  • HOLY CRAP. How many miles long is this?

  • looks like an F40PH train engine

  • 160 carriage

  • Biggest traini've seen was in mundelein C.N. train has 157 cars on it.

  • thats the biggest train i have ever seen before this the biggest i had seen was the euro tunnel to calais

  • How long is that train!?! Great noise too.

  • omfg i hate to think how many tonns that all that is!!! & omg how fast it was going as well the power hehe

  • actually these trains do not weigh out that heavy. Length is more of an issue.

Containers tend to be fairly light in comparison to carloads of cement, coal, etc.

  • that sound at the end is the turbo charger hard at work, great vid!

  • wanna catch'em slower come around here (yemassee, fairfax, S.C.) efin trains are my alarm clock!

  • Freight trains is the future.

  • damn, hes haulin ass ( and a whole lotta whatever too)

  • the ones in the back help them when they get to the mountains

  • Super load !!!! 300 bx: !!

  • That passes by my house :P

  • ....endless train! :S

  • I thought the video was cool! I havent seen anything like this before and the thought of 2hundred and fifty plus containers on a train had never ocurred to me . Fair play to the drivers of these leviathan's .

  • is the whine from the brakes?

  • nice catch dude 5 stars :)

  • Where?

    No crossbuck RXR sign?

    Like the YIELD sign.

    Better than a STOP sign.

    Nice catch.

Did they really need the engines on the rear?

  • Engines in rear for extra brakes I would assume.

  • its to help reduce stress on the cars and the couples on curves

  • Don't care about foamers so long as they're smart. It's the ones that are ON or too close to the track that piss me off. Or when they steal bells and horns and shit.

  • Foamer!

  • we throw water bottles to homeless guys, but we aren't trying to hit them lol.

  • train engineers can forget shit just like anybody else, and they often do lol. Ditch lights and headlights are supposed to be on bright at all times except when meeting or passing other trains, or stopped on the BNSF.

  • idiots on the video sound like UP managers...

  • gotta say one thing for the trains out west..they friggin fly!!!

  • Awesome video and awesome power!!!!

  • This is a rare video: UP and BNSF units in a BNSF train are very rare!

    Added to favourites.

  • 133

  • Another know-it-all foamer. Next time, stand between the rails when filming. You guys wonder why we flip you off or throw water bottles or pennies out the windows when we pass you? You wouldn't know an FRA violation if it smashed you're freakin head in.

  • Yeah, you're a real cocksucker. From now on people should keep Bricks on tap, returning the favor when you dipshits throw water bottles and pennies. Permenant brain damage from a brick hitting your face at 70mph would be classified as karma right? No, the diseases (cancer) you get from sitting in those rolling elctromagnetic radiation boxes called trains is probably karma enough. How ironic hahahaha

  • Both of you need to calm down. Trains are not "electromagnetic radiation boxes" (what!?) and railfans don't deserve waterbottles/pennies to the head. I never have had a crew throw anything at me, but I have had them throw timetables and stuff to me. Throwing waterbattles is just ignorant, and shows your "low life" mentality. Just because you're a railroader, doesn't make you any better than railfans. Go get a hobby yourself. At least we aren't the ones sitting in the cab all day!

  • No pun intended towards being in the cab either. I jump at being in the cab, but I am trying to prove a point to arrogant railroaders.

  • I wish the "mood" of the video would have not been interrupted by the commentary, but overall, a nice video. Interesting sound coming from the prime movers in the SD70ACe. I like the doppler effect it gives!

  • Lots of stuff from China!

  • And what's the "must see" in this except no lights and no shut mouth from the guy that taped this. Big deal a train goes by. Show me a derailment or a cow getting squared by the train and THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!

  • maybe doing like 70 mph??

  • that's the second vid today i've seen with 2 engines on the front and two on the back of an intermodal train, the other was in cali. unless its the same train. why do they do that now. and are box cars becoming a thing of the past since intermodal well cars are safer, faster and lighter?

  • DP; Distributive Power. It's a much more efficient way to run heavy trains than with all the power on the front. Also, less chance of tearing the train apart. We even run them with power in the middle or at the rear end of a yard setout.

  • Lot of speed, 100 km/h and 3 locomotive

  • What is with turning the camera when the lead unit goes by? Pretty sorry video! Avoid the commentary! Another know-it-all citing code and ordinances you know nothing about!

I suggest you take up an alternative past time.

  • Two words. SHUT UP!!

  • are you really that mush of an ass? if ya don't like the talking turn the volume down. Jesus another railhater.

  • Good catch, and you did say a mouthfull FRA, if the FRA catught them it would be a violation, it's a good case of "what they can't see won't hurt them" which is a bunch of BS this day in age, I thought the BNSF was better than that!

  • NOT a FRA violation. What is however an FRA violation is standing next to the track

  • Im not sure if its the same for us up here in Canada but I know all our rules state is that we must have the headlights and ditchlights on WITHIN a quarter-mile of any crossing. We typically have the ditchlights off when going by roads that run paralell to the tracks. (its like you driving down the road with highbeams on, when you have oncoming traffic you turn the highbeams off)

  • nice dpu's!

  • man thats very cool 5 stars.

  • how is that town pronounced? Mayzon or Muzon?

  • Muzon

  • listin to that HUM on that ACE at the end. 5*

  • FLYING!

  • Now that's a strange one!
