  • @1cosmicm Thank you for your comment. Good music never dies, only the musicians. Enjoy.

  • Awesome man! Good luck with the MUNY audition. Love that reso with the moon and star.

  • Thank you for your comment and encouragement. The live auditions are held in May. If I am invited, I should be hearing soon. Enjoy.

  • These songs should go straight onto your next CD. One of my first memories is listening to Lonnie Donegan's Rock Island Line way back in the 50's. Your version has a stronger conviction, shows depth and greater musicality. Well Done.

  • Thank you. I have been thinking of putting out a low-fi CD. The problem is as a cover artist having to pay the royalties to the owners of the songs. This is about a $100 per song. My first CD, Good & Evil cost $1400 for the rights to make 2500 copies. So, writing original material is the only way to go. LOL Enjoy.

  • Where was this filmed?. It is not how a Brit who has never been there envisages New York.

Really enjoyed this video thanks for posting it.

  • Thank you for your comment. This is not NYC. It is a video submission for an audition being held in NYC. Most of this was shot up north on the eastern coast. A wonderful summer vacation spot on the sea. An old Portuguese fishing village. If you get the chance to go, make sure you try the fried dough coated in sugar! Enjoy.

  • Hey Keni

I love these shots especially the little girl dancing. I get that a lot too...probably the funnest little audience members.

BTW I loved your version of Rock Island Line.

  • Thank you for your comment. Dancing children are good because they attract a crowd, but usually the audience forgets to feed the pot. This time was different because people keep giving the little girl coins to toss in. LOL Enjoy.

  • very true!

  • @MrMatchuw Thank you for your comment and encouraging words. Enjoy.

  • good luck! great stuff

  • @133serge13318 Thank you for your comment and positive vibes. Enjoy.

  • good luck this year...I thought it was all great stuff!!!!...and people seemed to be enjoying it : -)....well some of them..it always amazes me how many people seem to be completely oblivious to music!!!

  • Great as usual.Whats the CBG tuned to?

  • @luftschutz All the songs except Crossroads are in Vestapol Tuning aka Open D 151351 low to high. Usually I tune low in the key of C or C# to match my voice , but I've been know to tune higher to E. Crossroads is in Spanish Tuning aka Open G 515135 . Here again, I will tune down to F or F#. Thank you for your interest and question. Enjoy.

  • I'll be praying that you get it mate! Great music as always!

  • @oniyagi Thank you. Keep the Faith. Enjoy.

  • Buahahahahaha!*~#!

    Auditions for buskers!*~#!

I hope all the judges were buskers... If I were a betting man I'd put money against it!

  • @TheSpottytoad Thank you for your comment. In Cape Cod, I go to the Police station and get a free permit every year. No big deal. On the subway platforms in NYC it is competely legal, except once in a while the Police are not aware of this and they make you move on. It is my understanding the train stations are not public property and a contract exists between MUNY and Grand Central to provide entertainment. Although large if the station was free range it would be a jungle. LOL Enjoy.

  • real music keni !!!

    thanx bro'

    bp

  • @bluespower Thank you my friend for your continued support and encouragement. Enjoy.

  • Your smokin' brother.... :)

  • @forsakenfewmc Thank you for your kind words. Enjoy.

  • Hot damn! This man plays a mean guitar

  • @yayadenial Thank you for your straight up comment. Enjoy.

  • Good luck! Thanks in large part to you and to Make Magazine my 9 Y.O son and I are building a cigar box guitar... Should be setting the neck this weekend.

  • @tcanova Thank you for your comment. It is good to hear you and your son are spending some quality time together, having fun and learning something new too. Priceless. Enjoy.

  • Wishing you the best of luck from here in the UK! You've got the licks, you've got the chops, you can sing and you've got a huge varied repertoire. Sounds like a done deal. But when you're hearts in your throat then it all gets very hard indeed. Personally I choke even in front of the video camera at home (which is how come I haven't posted anything... yet...). So, best advice, BELIEVE! (and don't forget to BREATHE!!!). Good Luck!

  • @papasilvertooth Thank you for your personal sharing and advice. When I was taking a guitar seminar at Columbia Univ. we had a student recital, Bob Brozman told me I had to turn my "Give a S#*!!er" way down. Don't waste any time worring what they (the audience) think of you. Basically it is the venue. A stage with a focused audience is different than the street and people passing by. At first I was nervous on the street, no more. If I had more stage time, this would improve too . Enjoy.

  • Im sure if you play like this at the audition they could never deny you.

  • @ZEDZOR2 Well that is the trick! You wait and wait for your 5 minutes to shine. Personally my audition skills are not up to par with the other attendees. On the platforms I am calm as a clam, but when you walk out there in front of a panel of judges who are backed by camera crews from the local networks and newspaper reporters, it is tough to keep your heart from jumpin' into of your throat. Certainly this is my shortcoming. It has been getting better, but me auditioning is few and far between

  • @KeniLeeBurgess Yeh i suffer badly from nerves too at times. The shrinks would say if you have worked hard then you owe it to yourself to do well.I can see the logic in this form of reasoning but its still tough.Good luck.

  • @ZEDZOR2 Yes, the mind is strong, but the flesh is weak. They say we store our emotions in our body. Mind over matter it is then! Just do it! Enjoy.

  • Damn sweet stuff, good luck!

  • @RankAndFileGuy Thank you for your encouragement. Enjoy.

  • If anyone should make it to the final 20, it's you. Hope this is your year.

  • @DeltaBluesClassics Thank you for your positive vibes. I have been told no one makes it on their first auditon. It usually takes 3 - 5 times. I guess this helps to eliminate performers with only a casual interest in the program. They also make a varied choice including a wide range of skill levels. You don't stand much of a chance against a professional Juilliard trained musician if they don' t take this into consideration. Boy, do some good players turn out! Enjoy.

  • BREAK A LEG!!!

  • @126lma LOL More applicable...BREAK A STRING! Thank you for your encouragement. Enjoy.
