  • dear Maha though i'm not Arab but i know the Arabic language much better, the language you teach this not the literary language. in literary language there is only "kaefa haluka" for male or female. there is no sush "ka or ke' ,"anta or ante" for genders. such language is just by bedoo peoples and not by literary peoples. Please correct it. I think your are from Filastine and by this way you are not original Arab and not the authority for this language. bashir shah firdous48@yahoo.com

  • Learning arabic as a norwegian is very hard, all the sounds and the ways sentences are built up are completely different.

You explain it very good, shukran :)

Now to repeat the video 100 times so I will remember it when I am in Marrakech..

  • السلام عليكم انا اتعلم الانجليزية وانتي تعلمين العربية هههه تحياتي لكي اختي

  • Maha. Thanks. Where are you from?

  • مشكورة it mean thank u

  • u r amazing

  • Maha, what's the difference between Pashto and Farsi or Arabic?

  • @pcelis91

come on dude, the same difference between the english, spanish, dutch

it is a defference language but it had a Similar characters

  • @ToxicMind7 Look Dude, I wouldn't be asking if I knew the answer.

  • @pcelis91 the main difference is that Arabic is a semitic language while Farsi and Pashtu are Indo-European langauges. They have different roots, different rules and structure even though they share the same alphabet system. You can find arabic words in Farsi because they also share the islamic heritage but technically those languages are very different.

  • Maha do you speak the egyptian arabic?

  • Thank you so much for the lessons, they are very easy to understand and learn. I'll be looking forward to more lessons.

  • Shukran!

  • so helpful, thank you very much!

  • u remind me of the best arabic singer ever " in our generation" the legend Amr diab.. in each video, u have a different style and u r so cute in all o them but this is cutest .god bless u and especially ur eyes

  • also, what is this translated into English?: Ta'mam, kaf 'Enta

Thanks a lot for your help, hopefully I'll be able to learn a lot here

  • thank you

  • Is anyone interested in spanish lessons taught in English? Message me on my page or thumbs this message

  • do you live in Arabic?

  • @Breakthewalls88 haha you fucking retard Arabic is not a country it's a language dumbass

  • @Breakthewalls88 there is no such country called Arabic. Arabic is a language and there are many different countries that Arabians live in such as Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, and Egypt.

  • thanks a lot MAJA!!! i love your videos, and it inspire me to learn your language..... :)

  • very very good but excuse me the arabs don't speak by this way now the arabic that you are teaching to people is called Fosha which isn't used by arabs to talk with each other it is used in writing only

but every country has it's own accent

but I know that you must teach them the main language first not the accents

but I hope you to add videos to teach them how to speak an accent of the arabian accents

  • mashallah your so beautiful :) and i love your videos...very clear and easy to learn from :)

  • you did a great job, but by the way , if somr body say to you mrhaba, you can respond mrhaba as well

  • Is tha the Saudi Arabic or Egyptian one?

  • @SauloTheRock this is pure Arabic and what u talking about is accents

you should say Saudi accent or Egyptian accent

I hope that I answered your question

  • @salamo112 No, there are different types of arabic not accent. Each country has their own twist of it. Like for example aussie english versus southern american (georgian). It's not just accents but a completely different style. Someone from Riyadh would not understand someone from morroco. To tell you the truth there aren't too many types....

  • I think the response of "Mar7aban"

    is "Mar7abteen"

    lol

  • I can't learn anything because you're too gorgeous. I'm just staring at your face. lol

  • thanks for teaching us maja

  • Amazing teacher Shukran!!! Wonderful i learned alot!

  • I just wanted to say, we all Muslims use Arabic as a universal tongue,so we can all speak to each other. Arabic is the language (not only belonging to, of course) of Islam.

  • I wish you had been my teacher from the beginning. I have been trying to learn Arabic since I became Muslim in 1983! They start new lessons at all the American mosques but focus on the alphabet again and again. (I know this so well I taught it myself before). Or they focus on grammar and how to say things like, "My ox is bigger and fatter than your ox." ... With your videos I feel I am on the right track. Jazak Allahu Kherun.

  • Very good lessons indeed! I have arabic friends. I haven't told them about these lessons, so they become suprised almost daily, when I use new words, without them teaching me :)

Languages truly are fun to learn!

  • Wow! You look like you just crawled out of bed... and you are still beautiful!

  • She reminds me my kindergarden teachers :)

  • well done Maha thanks for ur lessons

  • Does she teach standard Arabic? Or any specific dialect?

I am confused about the dialect/standard Arabic (SA) language situation

    - 1. Are there SA online courses available?

    - 2. Do people really speak SA? ( is it a live conversational tongue or rather a written/dead language like Latin?

Thank all you for help and advice!

  • @IvanKolosnik Im at the same impass. They say they are basically the same but they definitely are not. Egyptian arabic ( what she is teaching i think) is so different from SA. Almost a different language Like how are you is Quefack (m) and Quefik (f). Sorry i dont know transliteration. I am worried that i will waste my time learning the language no arab with understand.

  • @TheMossad921 If you want to learn SA, don,t learn it on youtube, take a class. There, all your worries are ended.

  • helllo maha ..did u say none arabic say this greeting!!!

  • thank you for this video.. been married for 8 yrs but hard to learn.. you talk slow and pronounce the words several times.. I will be showing this to my children to.. my husband Arabic but just doesnt speak it in the home too much.. THANK YOU

  • Thank you SOooo much for making these videos! My husband and I are considering UAE employment, and these have helped very much. You are a wonderful teacher <3

  • @135791357ful Wow... That is why i will never become a Muslim. Answerable? She is going out of her way to teach us YOUR language... HER language. She is proud of it. God has given her this gift of languages, and all you can focus on is her clothing? I think you are the one who is answerable my friend. I am perfectly capable of listening to her and respecting her as a woman and a teacher. You are the one who cannot respect a woman until she is barely visible. That is truly offensive.

  • @theturnernator You are the one who cannot respect a woman until she is barely dressed. That is truly offensive.

Nothing to do with the great work this lady does or with the quality and importance of the language cuorse.

But your point is weak either.

  • My husband is from Jordan and of course he speaks Arabic and I speak a good bit now too. I happened to find this video and some of the things you say is very similar to the words I know but some of the endings are different. What I'm asking is why do people that speak Arabic from different areas have different ending or different words?? Thanks.

  • @glitterfamous88 Dialect, same principle applies in every language that is spoken over a wide region.

  • @glitterfamous88 Different arabic countries have different dialects and its normal. just like english is spoken in many different accents :) good luck in you arabic learning!

  • Thank you Maha. You are an excellent teacher. I have just started to learn Arabic from a rather dry book and to hear the same words spoken with such liveliness and enjoyment has given me a boost. I will look at your other lessons.

  • HI MAHA I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW DO YOU SAY :( DOMINICAN WOMANS ) IN ARAB , THANK YOU LOVE YOU.

  • Hey maha...

    are you muslim or christian?

  • @DestroyXXL why does it matter?

  • @DestroyXXL

    she's a palestinian christian.

  • This was a great help! Good explainations, thanks!

  • تحية من اليونان!

  • some very distant ancestor of mine spoke this language

  • A friend of mine from Saudi Arabia is soon to get her Master's Degree but her family will not be here for the graduation and I wanted to say congradulations to her (or whatever is usually said in such situations in her country) in her language. Can anyone help me please?

  • @DreamFairy0

    mabrook el najah

    mabrook = congs

    el najah = graduation

  • she's christian not muslim

  • Of course no one is perfect. But A TUTOR , should set example and should be able to earn respect therefore be little more, sorry MUCH MORE !!!! cautious about her attire, so that viewers /learners watching will concentrate on the LANGUAGE , than anything else...... . If she is a Muslim then she is answerable. As she in contravening Sharia'h. May the Almighty Guide her and protect al our sisters and brothers.,

  • thank you for this videos!!!!

  • Yea the others are definitely right. You are very beautiful. Also, you are a great teacher. But can you also teach Tigrinya too? I am Ethiopian and I hear Tigrinya and it sounds almost like Arabic. It wouldn't really be hard for you to learn. But, I'm just saying...

  • @cainchristian that's because the nun, like the sin, is a solar letter and the Lam has been assimilated with the first letter of the word after the article (Like for as-salamu...). I don't know if I explained it very well in english, I'm Italian:P

  • lol, my name can be misinterpeted as either welcome or pain.

  • You do a great job. I enjoyed it and will use it to help teach my kids Arabic.Thank you for these videos.

  • thank you, very helpful!

  • I speak Arabic really well, I dont know why I am watching this lol, but it is so interesting

  • Maha do you have a sister?

  • has anyone mastered Arabic by watching and practicing from these wonderful videos?

  • You are just beautiful, anyone can learn with such a smart and pleasant teacher! Great work, please keep it up!

  • Your videos are so helpful,

but i have a quick question

your videos teach Modern Standard Arabic right?

if i go to a Arab Country will they understand me if i learn MSA,

beacause i heard that they only use MSA in newspapers, magazines etc.

  • @iJackie5432

yes .. they can understand you even if you speak a modern standard arabic .we don't use probably most of MSA but we can understand it and i think it's easier to learn than dialectal Arabic.

  • @abiame Thank You! Shukran!

  • ur so sweeeeeeeet! thanx.

  • "subhit92" is absolutely right, I am Muslim, but I used to be a Christian and I can tell you now that Asalaamu A'laikum is the greeting of Yeshuah(Isa/Jesus/Yahshua Ben Yosef), and he even commanded his companions to use it both as a greeting and a fairwell. Although he spoke Aramaic, so it was more like 'Shlama Aleikhun', and Orthodox Jews will say 'Shalom Aleikhem'. Peace be with you is the universal greeting of all three religions. So we should all be using it.

  • Comment removed

  • Could make one lesson in Levantinian dialects like syrian , jordanian, palestine or lebanese , would it be possible ? shoukran ;)

  • u should put the sentenses in other color, will be easy to read and remember, i´m just saying :)

  • Thank you for your clear and easy to understand lessons. It's very encouraging!

  • This should be the best teacher around, i really loved how this young lady teache s...............do we have other videos by this lady? thank you!

  • I would love to use the greeting... but it seems they prefer to greet us with gunfire 2 to 3 times a day.

  • Marhaban Maha, I speak two languages fluent. Spanish and english, but i have always been interested in learning Arabic and I'm using your videos to learn from home. Thank you very much for taking your time in helping people all over the world. Insha' allah I will learn. shukran and massalama

  • shaba khair

  • Dear Maha:

I have found your arabic lessons very useful.

    Thanks a lot.

Soy un hablante nativo de español y me han parecido muy interesante lo de las respuestas a los saludos.

    Peace be upon you!!.

  • Superb video! I was having a great deal pronouncing "As-Salamu Alaykum" correctly.

  • anyway you're a very gorgeous girl ;)

  • maha you are beautiful and are a great role model :)

  • Dear Maha

I am trying to understand one thing. If ua re a muslim then why dont u where hijab as if u read speak and write the arabic language then it is better to cover ur slf ans AS SALAM ALAKUM is only for muslims . We all have our faults but lets all ry to get closer to the only goal and that is ALLAH ta Ala

  • @gentleman10165

essalamo 3laikom, I don't see the relavence in your comment. This is not an islamic lesson, this is strictly language. The hijab is between her and her deen, and NOTHING to do with you. You have no right to judge her. I am Muslim and nobody is a perfect Muslim, you have your faults and that is between you and Allah. And no, esalam 3laikom is not only for Muslims, I am falasteeni and I know Christians that say it as well. Again, mind your own business, we all have our own deen

  • @subhit92 Maha is a Christian

  • @subhit92 I agree with you!! I am Christian, I just started working with an Egyptian and I have learned so much especially with everything that happened recently in Egypt! I love my job and my boss is wonderful so I am on a mission to learn Arabic. Maha is a wonderful teacher..I never for a moment think of this as a religious thing! People can be so ridiculous! Just for the record as a former Catholic in church we would say, "Peace be with you" and "Also with you" it is just a nice greeting

  • @gentleman10165 Asalaamu Aalaikum, and "Asalaamu Alaikum" is not exclusively for Muslims. How do you think Jews greet eachother? They say "Shalom Aleichem" and Jesus peace and blessing upon him would say the same thing "Shlama Alekhun"(its all in the bible as well), which is Aramaic.

  • @gentleman10165 Uh, well she's not Muslim. If you've watched her videos before she has shown her family's Christianity. And second, Muslim women are not obligated to cover themselves. There was never a single indication that she is Muslim in this video but good job with your ignorance and generalizations.

  • @gentleman10165, just because she happens to speak Arabic doesn't mean she's Muslim. Just a word to the wise, learning Arabic as well as speaking has become worldwide and anyone is welcome to speak it as well as any other language if they so choose, peace.

  • ahlan wa sahln, i am an australian that can speak arabic. i dont want to cause contraversey but there is alot of talk about terrorist attacks on arabs countries. what are the saffiest countries to visit. shukran jaziilan :)

  • @kobedunks8 eheh hey brother well I think terrorist are everywhere around the worlk and we are not terrorist brother and terrorism has nothing to do with arabe or muslims people but I'm a moroccan boy so I'd say wellcome to my country, that doesnt mean it's the saffiest, I think you'd be wellcome wherever you go :p

    god bless you brother

  • thank you Maha for your videos!!

  • Assalamu'Alaikum Maha! Im trying to learn arabic on my own and was wondering if your teachings are the classical arabic or are they a specific dialect? my in laws are Iraqi and they say things a little differently (ex: instead of "anta" they say "inti") but maybe that is their dialect or can we say it that way for all dialects of arabic? thank you. love your videos.

  • Arabic is CUTE!

    ^_^

  • you make it sound so easy :D

  • sabah eelfool

  • you have a tendency to rattle

  • Thank you so much for this excellent video, very helpful!

  • This was very nice. Thank you :)

  • Dear Maha, the response to sabahu al khair in the text of your video is "sabahu al nuur", but it sounds as if you are not pronouncing the Lam of "al". Why is this? Thanks, Christian.

  • One small correction Maha... You said no one responds to "Marhaban" by another Marhaban.... Untrue. Very often the answer is Marhabten; i.e. 2 marhaban's ;) . On the other hand, I really enjoyed your video. You are full of energy and cheering. We need more people like you to shine the true picture arabs .... i.e. how lovely and friendly arabs are. Thanks for your efforts ;)

  • I liked this girl. She teaches well. MashaAllah and Shukran!

  • shookran

  • Im learning arabic and I really find your videos useful. Thank you.

  • very useful, shukran!!

just a little question. when somebody asks you : Kefak?

and you are not actually "good"

    what do you say,then?

  • @MsSabellah well if a person doesnt feel well, you can say "Ana mish mneeh" thats for a male, and for a female you say " Ana mish mneeha". You just add an "A" at the end for a female.

However, there are many ways you can say "not good" in arabic, and "mish" is a way you can say it.

  • @watermellonhi

    masa alkhair

    sabah alkhair=good morning

    :)

  • thanks a lot! :)

  • Hi, sweet, note: wa alkykom alsalam, not alsalamu..

  • note she is Arabic girl and Al SALAM Alaykom first and Wa ALykom Alsalam is after he said Al Salam Alaykome :)@HeresSeem

  • assalamu alaykum... maharba!maha just about the spelling of Arabic in letter in English i wonder because i saw a different video how to greet i Arab the spelling is different ...shukran ila alliqaa'

  • @watermellonhi Good afternoon= Sabah il khair (:

  • the greeting confused me :( you say the same thing twice?

  • @eaglesgogirl No , Not the same thing , there is a different , i say alslamu alaikom he say w alaikom alsalam ,

  • @Learnarabicwithmaha small suggestion Maha..try nit to roll Ur "r" so much like the r in Spanish..u shouldn't roll it..it's hard not to the way to do it is to not hold the r too long just long enough to form it n let go fast the longer u keep ur tongue there the more it rolls..n a question why didn't u make a sakoon on the "meem" of salaamu when stopping the last diacritical is dropped.

  • @Mikiseq if a christian said as-Salam ^alaykum to an Arab (some Arabs are Christians too) or a Muslim (compare religion to religion and language to language Christian is a religion and Arabic is a language) they should not find it weird this is the greeting of the prophets a greeting of peace such a greeting will be said upon entering Heaven

  • my dentist is arabic, i cant wait to see her face when i next go and greet her with marhaban :P

  • thanks, shokran ,, this is very helpful !

but i thought "how are you" is "kif halek" ...

so... i was wondering, what dialect is this ??

  • @iceflower02 what she is teaching is the anicent arabic, the first arabic they spoke, but she teaches this because if u can speak this kind of arbic u can speak arabic in all arbic countries

  • @choppzor oh ohkk thanks ;;

  • @iceflower02 she is teaching the Arabic Language Alveshy ;D <3

  • @iceflower02 meh its the same thing. kif halek ...kaifa haluka. shes saying it the proper way while teenagers usually o.o turn it into slang :D

  • @iceflower02 Khaliji dialect

  • Thnx for this.. a great help.. for me

  • Al Salam Walekum Maha, Wonderful job- Tamam -Keep it up and I would add a thought about - A Salam wale kum - was actually used FIRST by ISA( Jesus Christ) after his resurrection and he met disciples were hiding from nation who killed their Master but on third day ISA being transformed in glorious body can appear without restrictions,ISA appeared to them and says " Al Salam wale kum" - peace be unto you. In Bible-Gospel according to John Chapter 20: 19 to 21 - Twice he repeats the same words.

  • شرح رااائع

    شكراً

  • ur cool person to learn arabic from are u muslim?

  • Gotta learn these for when i got out to Afghan, Hopefully the locals will like a foriegn linguo. Cheers Maha

  • @BadassRocknRoller what does Arabic has to do with Afghan(istan) ?

  • Kaifa haaluki ya Maha? :)

  • plz can a non muslim marry a muslim?i am in love with someone whos muslim

  • @Micart33 muslim men can marry christians and jews.

  • @Micart33 It's called google

  • @Micart33 muslim men can get married with christ and jews and muslims women only , and any other religion is not allowed ... but muslim women can not get married with non muslim ever , she could get married with a muslim man only .

  • @Micart33 Arabic culture is very traditional. Even if you "can" marry the person, if they come from Arab roots, the family (especially the more conservative family members) may have some reservations about marriage outside of religious background. The best thing to do would be to have this discussion with the person, and express a deep concern for their family's feelings and opinions.

  • You're so cute as you explain the words!

  • Thank you for these lessons! Learning languages is fun when the teacher has personality.

  • mar7ab2...

    mar7abtin

  • in hindi," maha" is a word of gratning...

like-->Umm.. maharaj, raj=king maharaj the king of all kings

  • Shabah al Kheir, Wonderful job, Maha- Keep up your good work.

  • I bought the "Arabic for Dummies"-book and they are teaching people to say "kaif al-hal" instead of the male/femal specific greeting and the answer to it to be "al-hamdulilah shukran". are those phrases frequently used, do you ever come across them in daily life or are they old-fashioned?

  • i feel stupid watching this when I'm native arab :P

    good job though....

  • assalamu alaikum, ne question,i uderstand from your video that MARHABAN means WELCOME if you are the first to offer the greeting, an then you said that AHLAN WA SAHLAN also means WELCOME, so my question is : is ahlan wa sahlan also used as welcome if u are the first to offer the greeting or is it the response??

  • @000mich000

    yes it is.

  • salamaleyco

  • thanx a lot for ur good job :)

  • Hello, you started about the phrase As-Salamu Alaykum... between different religions and cultures, and my question is:"is it percieved as polite even if a Christian greets an Arab with this phrase? Or is it somewhat rude or even outrageous in this context?"

    Btw greetings from Czech Republic

  • @mikiseq

as-salamu alaykum means peace be upon you, it doesn't have anything to do with religion,

and if you're not arab it'll be percieved as very polite.

    greetings.

  • lol to EliteHorde so true and very sad

  • there is this phrase my cousins often tell me to say 'abbak gawat' but i dont know what it means and it makes my parents angry and no one tells me what it means.

  • @ChairmanBlimp far as i know gawwad means something along the lines of pimp and abbouk - or however you want to spell it - means your father i think... though ive only been taking arabic for a couple weeks i do assume nothing good can come out of the combination ;)

  • @ChairmanBlimp @ChairmanBlimp far as i know gawwad means something along the lines of pimp and abbouk - or however you want to spell it - means your father i think... though ive only been taking arabic for a couple weeks i do assume nothing good can come out of the combination ;)
