Windows Vista: WTF DID SP2 DO?!?!

Oh, i beta tested the service pack, firefox worked just fine, even after i installed the final, it still worked just fine...

Why would it be a problem with the service pack? Its possible that it fucked up firefox, or that firefox just fucked up. Try restoring back to before you installed it, boot into safe mode and then install the SP.

I seriously dont think its microsoft and even if it is, its a mistake. Sometimes firefox takes a shitload of time to load for me when there's problem with my internet.

You might think its a bad browser but I have tried all of the browsers out there and IE is the only that works the best for me. Its much faster than Firefox. IE takes less memory. So I think IE is better.

Ok, you really must be stupid, the only reason IE seems to take less memory is because its also in your system32 files so all, or most of your cache is stored in their by default. Firefox on the other hand, doesn't have that luxury. IE is super slow, no where near as fast as Firefox. My friend has actually coded a better browser than IE (took him about a month tho). So in the end, I KNOW IE is a horrible web browser that should never have been coded.

No. In my video as said that after I installed SP2 normal Firefox started taking over 3 minutes to start-up. I never once mentioned the actual performance of FireFox (which was quit unchanged). So ever since I installed SP2, I have used Firefox Portable.

You can't after you install it your Recovery Points are reset and there is no manual way of uninstalling it. If you do know of a way feel free to tell me though.

When I was using XP and I installed SP3 my computer got fucked so I went to the add or remove programs and uninstalled it. I dont know if its the same with Vista because I have not installed SP2

Yea, its not the same, you have that option for only certain updates not all. I don;t recommend SP2. Nothing new, a few bugs fixed but alot more created.

I don't, usually I use normal Firefox, but Firefox takes way too long to load. Firefox Portable loads faster than normal Firefox. So that is why I use Firefox Portable more often now.

i have just installed sp2 and at first everything was just a bit slower, but a just rebooted again for the 2nd time and it works just the same as sp1. i don't really see a different in sp2 from sp1

The purpose of SP2 was to fix a few bugs and edit some of the ways Vista analyzed system processes (IF YOU READ THE NAME OF THE UPDATES YOU WOULD KNOW THIS) along with some security updates. The purpose of SP2 was never to change the way Vista looks.

Hmm I'm running Windows Vista SP2 and FireFox works just fine. Can't help you very much over youtube tho.

Anyway can help you to backup your bookmarks. Open a folder and type this in the address bar

( %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Prof­iles )

After that there should be a folder with some odd name open it and find "bookmarkbackups" open that and save your files !

Then when you get FireFox to work again

you click "Ctrl+Shift+B" and take "Import....\Restore\Choose File"

and pick the files you saved.

Yea you need to have Windows Aero, so yea, you need to have Premium or better.

Where did you download the service pack 2? I have windows vista home basic i want service pack 2 for when i get an ipod touch

It was under Windows Updates. Just click on the windows button (bottom left), type in windows update, and the click on the first one, then click install updates.
