  • Malmsteen just absolutely kills.

  • This song rules!! It melts my brain!

  • This song is dedicated to Yngwie's first wife.

  • 1:24 ... what a noble savage!

  • This song gives me goosebumps in its end with the whole keyboards in the backgrounds, and the fade away ....

  • Someone here needs to thank Uli Jon God... er, I meant Roth!

  • Not to mention, this song!!And maybe classical is not your thing, but i dare any hater of Yngwie to come close to playing a piece which normally consists of several musical instruments,on one itty bitty little guitar,oh yeah, throw in the fact he suffers from severe tendonitis!Ok,I think I've made my point. We're all entitled to our opinions, and that's mine.Shit, I almost sound like a hater! Just glad to see others who accepted the gift this man offers! Music saves lives!!!

  • I agree! What an agonizing choice it would be!! (along with the whole stranded issue!) Anyway, any haters out there, listen and listen closely.........Yngwie is not just a guitarist who plays incredibly fast. He is not just a guitarist. He plays several instruments, and is also a composer. No soul?Listen to Spanish Castle Magic Live for one,For any headbangers(which I am ),go back as far as Alcatrazz,Steeler, how bout "I Am A Viking","Now Your Ships Have Burned"...Hold on.to be continued..

  • You know when people ask you if you were on a deserted island, and had your choice of 5 albums/cd's (ooops, showing my age),yup, Rising Force is deffinately one..........now to get a stereo on that island!!!

  • @stephluvslayne Marching Out, Trilogy, Odyssey, Facing the Animal... Hmm it's four already, what about Eclypse and others? I need more than 5 just for YM alone LOL

  • @stephluvslayne Painkiller, Powerslave, Nostradamus, YM, Holy Diver.

  • THE yngwie album!!!!!!!!

trust me nay sayers ….. NOBODY in music was doing what this man was doing on the electric guitar when he first appeared in the early 80's

His name will FOREVER be mentioned alongside Jimi and Eddie as the next guy who took rock guitar up a notch to the next level

  • Plus, who can forgot Alcatrazz????!!!!! He was awesome during that point too.....Kree Nakoorie??? Nuff said!!

  • THIS is my Malmsteen!

  • 1:16 ... jizz..

  • I remember when i bought this album when it came out and heard Yngwie for the very first time, he blow my mind to pieces! and made me put away my guitar for over a year because i just could not wrap my mind around his shear speed and technique.. he still is one of the best shredders over the past couple of decades..

  • without yngwie.... no paul gilbert.. no shawn lane.. these guys had a great template, demeola was really the only guy with this guys aggressiveness and ability, holdsworth.. not even close, yngwie changed the game

  • and one other thing....this guy WAS the first, uli tapped it . demeola had the speed, but yngwie at such an age ..... worked hard.... and delivered us something technically amazing .. introduced a new sound ... and lit it on fire

  • @badhorsee Big Amen :D Yngwie has already "made himself" before he even hit 20 and was I think 21 when the first album was released...

  • @smilingeuterpe To be a solo artist at age 21 or whatever, now that's something to strive for. I think a lot of people think Yngwie's so generic and unoriginal, because everyone after him copied him. You have to remember that Yngwie WAS the original. I also think he's a phenomenal rhythm player on his albums... his riffs are so alive, full of nuances. That's why I like to say he's like Hendrix on steroids. Just because he likes to play fast doesn't mean he doesn't have emotion in his playing :)

  • @Moh1Z You said it. he has recorded phenomenal music over more than 30 years which is a testament to his musicianship. Also he is so fast that unless people take time to analyze or slow it down, they miss a lot. I have actually listened to most of his songs slowed down . Plus of course he has written enough of slow music to suit any taste (except haters of course LOL).

  • @smilingeuterpe I agree. People that comment things like "oh, he's just playing mindless shred" just don't take the time to actually listen to the melodies that he's playjng. It's far from random, and I often find very interesting melodies even in his fast lines. What makes it even more amazing is that he often improvises them on the go, at least when he's playing live. Now that's expression at its most raw form.

  • @Moh1Z Very well put, also I notice that haters very often comment how other guitar players have more soul or feeling. Crap, it's a different soul and different feeling, I like Jeff Beck, I like B. B. King but I also like Malmsteen and Romeo and Zac and late Dimebag. Thankfully for every hater there's hundreds of lovers . Have a great one!

  • @smilingeuterpe Hey you got it right with this Cat!!! Malmsteen is very Melodic and very tasteful...The cool thing is you could slow all his stuff down and it would still sound very melodic and tasteful...He is the Man when it comes to this Neo-Classical style shred...Above all of it, He's very SOULFUL with it..It kills me when folks say he is just a shredder, I wonder if they hear what us true fans hear?? Glad my ears are able to hear cause this is the Maestro!!!

  • @TheShredfester True story my friend :) The world is big enough for all of us, but I'm also happy to hear what I hear when I listen :D

  • @Moh1Z Thank God I found another believer! Your right on, his playing is almost all passion, if 1:13 onwards does not make your hair stand up you have no soul. Yngwie damn sure does! I wanna smack ppl that listen to just 1 Yngwie tune and think they have him figured out. But they are probably just young or dont play the guitar, I can remember a day when I actually though Satriani stunk :( I was 17 forgive me Lord!

  • @badhorsee , it is humbling, give sredit , where sredit is due

  • @JacqueShredo well said.., early yngwie, such raw power , precision, and emotion....hungry

  • So freaking great. The solo - well just fantastic!!

  • Oh, I forgot: in 1984, was anyone doing something similar to Maml? I don't know, I can't remember #NOT.

  • Definitly my favorite Malmsteen track

  • Nobody mentions how good Jens was, Yngwie leaded the band throught the most part, but it wouldn´t have sounded so great without Jens contribution.

This is where all begun, the speed playing guitar soloing, and its menthor..

  • 1:25 That was Yngwie's intro into my Life...

He was my classical influence can you believe that hahah?

This piece proofs once again he isn't all about speed!

  • where is all yngwie fans here in sweden its fuckin dead here i want a fuckin neoclassical band

  • yngwie the creator of the neoclassical shred

  • can he do a album like this i will be blessed want that he should come back to the old sounds what he had one the 80s ::::!!!!!!!!!.....

  • no hits in 3 months, tells me there are NO real guitar players anymore, not even in the whole world-WOW

  • @badhorsee :)

  • @badhorsee Are you surprised? Everyone listens to Lady Gaga and shitty hiphop. Ask a random person who Jason Becker or Marty Friedman is and they'll just stare at you.

  • @badhorsee @smilingeuterpe Tell me, folks, that I'm not the only guy that turns up an up the audio at the very end solo, till I can hear all... OMG, why they did that? (5:07--->GOD MODE ON! UN-FREAK-BELIEVABLE!).

  • @lfotmm No you're not :) Cheers

  • where is your page ?

  • @iltuoeugenio I'm still here :)

  • @smilingeuterpe same here I really love his old stuff!

  • I FEEL A RISING FORCE!

  • the solo at the end must go on...

  • like the drum sound so much!!!!!!

  • @dunholy and the jazz touches of the drummer dude! This is trully a masterpiece! the best song in the album for me!

  • This is truly an amazing piece of music, even after all of these years. I once listened to this album obsessively, mentally memorizing every note. I used to think I was the only person in the world that truly appreciated Yngwie's genius. Unfortunately, he seemed to have peaked on this record, and everything after was for the most part a lesser repeat of this effort. His work on Alcatrazz record also has some great compositions and playing as well..

  • His first two albums were his best and I think they were his best...ninteen and hungry. Rumour has it he did the first album in one take...straight through. The interlude solo in this song is to me one of his best solos....breathtaking and beautiful..with a hint of loss. I play this solo for every hater that tries to tell me that hes "all shred". Yea there are alot of people that can shred but suck and even Yngwie "can" be like that. People that hate on him out of jealousy

  • @ramindsr Everything he ever recorded in his life is pretty much one take, until he got his own home studio...

  • LAST POST WAS ABOUT A GUY COPYING THIS , NOT YNGWIE , SORRY

  • THE RUN AT 1.25 SHOWS A LACK OF FLUIDITY AND MASTERY BUT U ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK, ALITTLE STIFF AND UNNATURAL, BUT MAYBE THATS U, IT CAN BE GOOD TOO, GREAT WORK

  • RAW EMOTION WITH TECHNICHAL FLAWLESSNESS , MASTERPEICE

  • THIS BLOWS THE GREATS AWAY, WHEN THEY TALK OF YNGWIE , THEY KNOW THIS SONG AND ITS JUST AS AMAZING TO THEM, MAKES THEM WANNA THROW IT IN THE TRASH, BUT , IT MADE THEM ALL BETTER, JUST THE FACTS

  • THIS IS THE YNGWIE GUYS LIKE LYNCH AND VAI AND ALL THE GREAT ONES MARVEL AT, THIS IS WHY, THEY KNOW ITS SPECIAL

  • finally people complementing yngwie

  • undeniable talent, even if u dont like him , u just cant deny THIS, AMAZING AND UNMATCHED

  • @dunholy Very nicely put. It's unbelievable he was so mature musically at 20.

  • all yngwie bashers...... have a listen fags

  • @badhorsee Yeah they should take a listen at the Player who elevated playing.. Malmsteen is a Fu$%ing Monster Killing Slayer on the Battle Axe!!! Hide your gear when he shows up!!!

  • wow. i miss when guitarists actually knew how to master their instrument and nobody handled it with the ease of Yngwie. it's practically a toy in his hands and yes, this album has no equal in terms of inspiration, technique, and passion.

  • fav yngwie song or big foot from when he was in alcatrazz

  • @encguitarist , RIGHT ON , U LIKE THE RAW TOUGHNESS AND FEEL OF YNGIE JUST BY THE SONGS U PICKED , CHECK OUT OVERTURE 1483 OR WHATEVER AND SUFFER ME, AND BASICALLY U PICKIN GOOD ONES OUT OF ALOT OF GOOD ONES , BUT I SEE WHY U LIKE THESE AND U ARE RIGHT , THEYRE A LITTLE DIFF, PURE UNDENIABLE GREATNESS , KUDOS TO U!

  • Hardcore. I think I have another guitarist in my favorites.

  • yngwie really is awesome, this song is my fave from this album, anyone who says he just plays fast doesn't really understand great musicanship, killer, song,

  • great great album. too bad it's the only one by him that i like

  • il Maestro a 21 anni...il migliore

  • 1:50 , sounds like a santana song... weird sensation

  • THE yngwie album!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:24 - 2:23 cry here

  • @popgigs Hell yes sweetest thing ive ever heard! Anyone who says he's al speed and no feel Really have no damn clue!! Or they have only heard a song or 2! What a shame there missing out on perfection!!!!!

  • The Bible of Neo-Classical Rock. The Album that started it All. Yngwie The Swedish Guitar God. This Is Your Masterpiece and I'm Proud to still have this.

  • @perpetual61

You said it... I listened to this album hundreds of times, memorized each note and still love it.

  • @perpetual61 best yngwie song ever

  • super

  • Yeah! Yngwie

  • Awesome instrumental!

  • This first solo album was the start of the Neo-Classical Fusion movement..It is still Breathtaking and Yngwie sent the guitarist of the day to the wood shed!!Should say the wood shredder!! To be quite honest he elevated the guitar playing in a way that few ever had before or since..What a great album and a great player!! King of Shred, He needs no introduction in the civilized World the Master of High Speed Melodic Guitar, Ladies and Gentlemen please allow me to introduce Yngwie Malmsteen!!

  • Yes, my jaw dropped when I heard it for the first time. This album has changed the history.

  • @TheShredfester I totally agree! Nice to see people still appreciate this! Everyone else are badmouthing him these days.

  • @TheShredfester I agree one thousand percent.. everything else afterwards was nothing more than cheap imitation. Yes, he opened doors to mor elevated styles of guitar, and I am no different. I too, picked up the guitar because of this particular guitar hero/Maestro! Hail Yngwie!

  • @TheShredfester I remember the first time I heard this album. Many people say a lot of things about him. For me, what matter is: This guy is NOT FROM THIS WORLD.

  • @lfotmm He is a Monster for real!!! Paul Gilbert, Vinnie Moore, George Bellas are some wicked ass players as well and a group of Cats that are on the playlist...Malmsteen just hammers me with his melodic play and wicked tone, he is and will continue to be my Guitar Hero...His latest effort is great as well be sure to check it out..The fact remains that Neo-Classical is my favorite style and it's so demanding...You have to play a minimum of 3-5 hours aday to master it...These Cats are the Best...

  • @TheShredfester elevated it ...is the word

  • @badhorsee You know it Bro, Malmsteen is the Man..I like the other players I mentioned below, even others that follow the Neo-Classical style..There is only one Yngwie though and He is pure genius and the Masters of old, Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Paganinni, Chopin, Mozart and the others that Yngwie took in as his mentors are thrilled to be an influence on this Monster Beast of the guitar..You know I'd like to think that those Classical Masters would play 7 string guitars with Marshalls!! Killers

  • One of his best compositions, imo...

  • I love this piece!
