I'm a goalie and goalie coach. It's very interesting how late he goes down. He seems to wait to see what's happening before he goes down, I know many goalies who just go down really early. I guess the faster you can go down, the longer you can wait, and the longer you can wait, the better position you'll be in.

Interesting, I like Turco, but don't get to watch him that often. I hadn't noticed him being more of a standup than a butterfly. I think perhaps he has to be because he's not as big. A small but very good skater and smart goalie can be just as good as a very big goalie who flops around. Turco is the man!

Ye, I also play goalie, i never had a coach that had ever played goalie so i kinda jus figured out my own thing .. and i tend to go down similar to turco, i find that if i go down any sooner than the instance he hits the puck they see it and either shoot high, or deflect it up high

So anyone who gave me a thumbs down knows nothing about goalies and clearly can not appreciate the finer aspects of the game. I study the position of goalie a lot and I notice things most people don't. Turco is a great goalie to watch because he isn't that big. So he is forced to maximize efficiency at all times unlike some of the bigger goalies who sometimes just get in the way of the puck not even on purpose. The Flyers are known for playing such goalies (just what I've noticed).
