  • and the problem with the paddle shifters on a 370z is that theyre not a true paddle shifter. True paddle shifters are linked to a Dual clutch transmission or SMG. The 370z's paddles run through a normal automatic torque converter which will never give it a nearly aggressive shift as a DCT, SMG, or normal manual transmission which makes it have a slower time. Plus they have about .5 seconds of lag time in them so you need to shift earlier than the shiftpoint to make up the lag.

  • Awesome car. My 2010 Camaro gets 12.5 on a 1/4 mile stock.

  • I have a 2010 Sports Package 6spd. The best I can get at the track is 13.7s. The car is hard to launch. Good run man.

  • That's a joke.. My 2007 civic Si coupe with just I/H/E IMG reflash hits 13.5 on Drag Radials. About $1,600 dollars in mods on a $21,000 dollar car. Not bad.. and it's just a HONDA

  • @angrut yeah but its FWD =/ only catch besides being a HONDA lol jk. Without the radials try a 14, still not bad for an SI though.

  • Stock 350Z @108 in 13.2

search for "Quarter mile Stock HR 350z (263 WHP Dyno) 13.2@108 mph

  • Good run! :)

  • WOW... im not to familiar with the new z but great run. i didn't know the autos shifted that fast! i thought it would be like any other conventional auto trani.

  • i want a nissan gtr i bet if i tuned it up on a dyno i could get in the high 8's

  • @beastblood980 lol a dyno wont get a mid - high 11 second car into the 8's buddy, i got a friend who has a GTR that he put 140k into and it still doesn't even run 9s

  • @jgto17 well im not talking about just tuning it lol that would be impossible of course but ive seen a 95 skyline do 8.7 seconds and im sure with all the right modifications i could get one doing that

  • @beastblood980 lol okay, good, just thought i'd clarify haha! yeah, with enough money, you can make anything go fast!

  • Bitches in this video=DOOMASS

  • Good luck shifting shifting a manual as consistent and fast as them paddle shifters

  • no reason to use the paddle shifters in the 1/4 there is no gain by using them. there there as a fun "tool"

  • @Dirtracer6516 paddle shifters? you mean those training wheels on the steering wheel? be a man and drive a manual. its a freakin sports car for godsake, not a family sedan

  • @Dirtracer6516 fag LOL

  • great job running the 370! So much misinfo below regarding the 350z it's disappointing. Yes, the older pre-07 models where high 13/low 14 sec cars, the 07-08 (HR) models are mid-low 13 second cars STOCK. In fact, apparently just to shut up all those denying this fact, flodhi recently went and ran a 13.1 and 13.2 at 108-9 mph STOCK and it's ON VIDEO and verified (click his profile if you don't believe). If you buy an AUTO 350Z it's no wonder it's not as fast as you hope, get a manual next time

  • you do know since its inception back into the markets the autos in the Z's have run faster times than the manuals.

  • i cant stop watching this. The shift time is so fast...

  • the 370z is very very different than the 350z.

the shift time of 370z 7 speed auto tran is 0.5sec, it also features downshift rev-match.

  • Full bolt-ons added 15 mph in trap speed in the 1/4? I would need to see a timeslip because it sounds like bullshit to me.

  • get some upgrades from stillen . i have full bolt on and run a 12.8 at 119. =D.. but i also had slicks on so i ddnt spin.. and im 6 speed so i take off hard,

  • ahahah you dont run 119 traps ahahahah. gtfo you lying pos. LOL. if you trapped 119 and didnt spin you should be in the 11's. gotta love kids living in a fantasy. LOL. 119mph ahahah.

  • 350z is slow as sin... I don't know why.

  • @tontot77 its a 370 dumbass

  • Really, I didn't know what video I was watching. That was a comment to 3DSerge... dumbass.

  • I own a 2008 350Z - it is Auto Transmission.

When arguing about 1 second difference. You are forgetting simple factors. For instance, some GAS Stations have shitty gas in them, which slows down the car. Plus the Engine age is very important. If the car is new and under 10,000 miles it will be slower than the car with 20K + miles.

I mean why argue, 370Z is faster than the old Z, and it's sux that i own 2008 model, but not 2009 one :) Stock 350z won't run low 13's :(

    I ran 13.7 once

  • I don't know what you're talking about man I rhave a stock HR 350z and ran a 13.3@ 107 MPH this summer, I have the time slips and everything and I want you to watch the videos titled:-

    2007 350Z 6 Speed, Stock 2009 02 23 04 09 41

    2007 350Z 6 speed, stock passes 2009 02 23 16 17 50

    2007 350Z 6 Speed, Stock PB Trap 2009 02 23 04 03 00

    These are stock HR 350z timings of 13.15 @ 108 MPH 13.2 @ 108 MPH and 13.17 @ 109 MPH

  • you also have an auto transmission so that would affect your times alot haha

  • really? you mean like all the 6 second 1/4 time funny cars or the 4 second dragsters that are all using semi autos? you do know the fastest 1/4 times in the world are held by auto cars right? and even formula 1 cars use semi automatics with tapshifts.

  • @atekido im just saying on that level with such a powerfull engine as a funny car you wouldnt be able to shift all the gears fast enough to not let the engine blow.formula 1 cars have paddle shifters because they are sequential which makes it much easier to downshift into a corner. if you know so much a drag cars then you should know that cars of this speed a fully automatic gearbox will hurt your times greatly

  • @atekido

You are an absolute dumbass atekido.

  • @3DSerge I love the Z cars. I hope to have one by the end of the year. I have a 07 Altima 3.5 and I just LOVE the VQ. Quickest I ran was a 13.9 but its not stock.

  • @3DSerge Many 2007 and 2008 (HR) 350z's owners have achieved as low as 13.1 stock lol checkout flodhi1. he has a few vids of hitting 13.1 stock with street tires. HR 350's typically run around 13.3-13.5 while the 03-06 DE Z's run 13.7-14.2 At their VERY best the 370 does a 12.9x while the HR 350 does a 13.1x and the DE does 13.6. Im glad I have an 07 ha, not worth 10k more to go .2 seconds faster and have your oil temperature spike you into limp mode like the 370. Still a SWEET car though!

  • @TheVengefulCo That's so funny you replied after two years. I still have my "Z" and I ran 13.1 few months ago. I feel like my engine started to perform much better with over 40K Miles on it

  • I see he managed a 13.3 in his 3rd run ... not too bad, considering Car and Driver managed 13.1 @ 108 on their testdrive of the auto, 0-60 in 4.6.

Now if Nick can match that I'll be impressed.

  • great dude ...congrats

  • That is pretty nice. That also gives MT buyers something to think about when upgrading.

  • Very impressive for a stock automatic Z

  • ACTUALY the auto 370Z is FASTER than the MT 370. the MT hits 60 in 4.7 the auot does it in 4.6, the MT 1/4 is 13.2 average Vs 13.0 flat average for the auto. the auto also shifts faster than the MT.

not to mention even with the 350Z auto there is no real difference in speed between it and the MT, maybe a 1/10 of a second. I raced plenty of auto Z in my MT Z and they all run with me.

  • the new 370z are some nice cars im an ls1 guy myself but i likem. i think someone eventually is gonna hit a 12 second time in one stock. i know some 13.1 and 13.2's have been run

  • 13.1's have been run in stock 350z's . . .

  • yeah by VERY VERY good drivers. the 370Z sdtock can run consistent 13.0 flat. so imagine with a very good driver that has time to get to know the car high 12s are possible.

  • Yeah im sure with good driving a stock 370z should be running 12's consistantly. My mazdaspeed 6 runs mid-high 12's at 317 awhp. Yes I can launch but my topend blows donkey dick.

  • There is no way a stock 350Z can run 13.1. I would be more inclined to believe 14.1. Eventually maybe the 370Z might crach a low 13 like that.

  • visit the 350z forums. I didn't believe it either but there is a sticky post with tons of people running low 13's and the slips to prove it (stock). Most 350z drivers suck and do 14 sec passes though so. Multiple 13.1 runs and tons of low 13's.

  • I think alot of those guys exaggerate and i wonder if that is really their time slips or someone elses. I own a 350z single turbo, and have been on alot of the forums and track meets. I've never seen anyone come that close to 13.1stock even on drag radials. I'm not saying its impossible but they may be stretching the truth. Some guys will say they are stock but are really spraying.

  • ive never seen a 350z run a low 13 stock either. Just believed the time slips. I drive a 12 sec mazdaspeed 6 and im yet to be beaten by a nismo. The new 370's seem fast but I doubt too many kids will get those as their first car /:.

  • Mom and dad will get a few of them that car for sure. Hopefully they dont hurt themselves or anyone else.

  • Yep. Leave it for closed courses guys.

  • it is a lighter, more powerful car with a very flat torque curve.

  • This leads me to believe that either A) those 350z's weren't stock (or at least not on street tires), or B) 350z engines vary greatly in output from car to car or C) the weather conditions have a larger than normal impact on these cars.

P.S. My car is a 2005 350z 6-speed, and the best I've done with a tailwind was a 13.89. My normal trap speed is 98-99mph, but on that run it was 102. I've tried no-lift shifting it, short-shifting, every type of launch...

  • I have a Z32 and Z33 and i love my 300 better then the 350, but this new 370 is just nice in every performance aspect, and someone someday will swap a LS1 In one of them :)

  • c&d got it to trap at 108...keep workin at it! nice job though!

  • That's a 7 AT?? DAMN! 104 mph is some serious trap speed for an automatic. Your 370z is obviously putting a lot of power down to the ground.

Bone stock, that was the first time I've ever run it and the first time I've ever run a car at a track (in my highschool years I may have run my S-10 on the street, no comment)

  • Yeah I think there is room for improvement based on your 60' time.

With those rear 19X10 and 275 wide tires I'm guessing that you can drop it to a 2.00X

I was looking for a base w/sport but there are only two tourings w/sport out here.

  • whats the 60ft.?

  • Its your car moving the first 60ft. The first 60 feet will determine your ET. for example, NICHTENN pulled a 2.1 60ft if he pulled a 2.0 60ft his ET would be faster by 2tenth.

  • ur telling me something i already know..i was asking his 60ft. time.....i pull 1.6's

  • 1.6 is okay, but i like my 1.4s and 1.5s better :)

  • my 1.6's was first time taking my car to the track and it has much more in it..i DD the car and drive it there and drive it home so i didnt launch it with everything its got..first time out went 12.0@115 with 1.6 60ft. vortech z only at 8psi..now on 12psi but havent gotten back to the track yet..would have broke 11's before with little more seat time..now should be mid 11's

  • nice run...bone stock right and this is ur first time out with it?

  • Nice run. Those new 7-AT's aren't to be messed with. That's faster than a 6MT run that was posted earlier.
