  • Good news, looks like a cure is being developed!

It involves electronically stimulating certain nerves to "reset" the part of the brain causing the ringing.

Still a way off, but you can look forward to it!

  • Thank you for the encouraging words. This has been very hard this past year since it happened. I am leagl deaf/disabled but I still push to keep working at my job and still pick up the guitar and try to find a way to make it work. On my good days when the ringing is not so bad and I don't have a raging headache I can feel the vibrations of the guitar stings on my arm and chest. I am trying to learn a new way of singing and playing again. I will continiue to beat all odds.... thanks. Scotty D

  • Damn Scotty, you're truly amazing...I am so blessed to have met you!

  • @ShotGunShanni Thank you

  • Beethoven also had tinnitus. Have you ever thought about playing a bass acoustic? Put some earplugs in and then feel the music in your chest.

  • @dvldogg187 Actually you are right in. I play bass and yes I did use to play the stand up for the high school and then got a scholership to play for our community college. I miss the stand up. But I have not given up on music. I now notice that when I hold a guitar and play I am now literlly feeling the vibration of the tone. More so on the low notes. I now use more of my feeling senses when I sing and play what I can. I tune the guitar with the feeling more so than the sound. Thanks

  • @confusingadam great dude, keep up the good fight.

  • Sorry to hear about your ordeal. Im 28, moderate/severe hearing loss in both ears from being a really ignorant drummer when In was young. The tinnitus is indeed the worst part, my ears are extremely touchy if I am around sounds like a dog bark or vacuum etc my ears ring for weeks. I wish you the best of luck, great song.

  • @turbotrauma Sorry that you have to suffer from Tinnitus and hearing loss as well. I find that after 6 months it is so hard to live a normal life. Only those who experience ringing of the ears only know how difficult it is. In my case, I have never got a break form the ringing. From the moment the alarm wakes me up to the last grueling second before I fall finally fall asleep the ringing is there. I have not found a doctor or specialists who can help. Any suggestions on what helps you?

  • Sorry I posted that twice ^_^

  • I'm so sorry! That sounds horrible! If I could make it go away I would. Your singing and guitar playing is outstanding though! I've recently been watching your videos and they're amazing! Keep going and stay strong!

  • @CrystalHeart800 Thank you very much for the kind comment. Yes, I lost my hearing in my left ear and only have 60% left in the good ear but I am not giving up. It is hard to sing and play at the same time. I can play the guitar just fine alone but when I sing all that I hear in my head is my vioce.... not guitar or rythem. So I just use faith that my guitar will stay in tune and I memorize the pitches before I sing. It is a whole new world for me out there now being hearing impaired. Thanks SD
