I watched ER religiously until towards the end of season 5. After Clooney and Margulies left, the show was never as good. Edwards leaving really drove it into the ground. Seasons 3 and 4 were the best. I hated Abby's character and thought she was overacted most of the time. Alex Kingston, Noah Wyle, and Sherry Stringfield were brilliant on this show. I will admit though, when I watched the final episode the first time I cried my eyes out.

@wickedfan5172 after the last of the main characters left the show (ross, greene, benton, hathaway, corday and carter ) i too lost interest in the show. but i also enjoyed watching romano, kovac, abby, and malucci as well as ron eldards character and chad lowes. favorite episode was "Ambush".

and i really liked the guy who played Mark Greene's Dad.... that guy acted very original... :)

Mark would be so proud of Rachel considering how much she's grown up and that she's now following in his footsteps. It's a pity that he didn't live to see this day because I bet they would've really enjoyed working together at the hospital as father and daughter.

This comes up on my "recommended" list every now and then, so I watch :) EVERY TIME it makes me get teary because it was just so well done. I stopped watching around season 10 but have gotten caught up a bit with reruns and DVDs (got my husband into ER too, I'm not allowed to watch the DVDs without him, lol). There are really no words for how great this show was...It's sad to think that there will be no more. Thank you Michael Crichton for this amazing show.

I was watching the first pilot episode, and this ending is almost exactly the same as the beginning of that pilot ep. Wow. Clever writing that is. Love it.
