I've been learning guitar for just over two years. I just played this game for an hour and it really works the right muscles. I'm also a jamplay member and i have to say that as cool as rocksmith is, it's not a substitute for a qualified guitar instructor. It's most definitely an excellent practice tool though. As far as lag goes, i'm using rca jacks and i hardly notice it.

I will change my setup though for better audio.

BTW.. I have HUGE hands... being able to go back and focus on one part of any song I'm playing is great!!! It allows me to keep at it slowly and get the muscle memory going to play something the right way.. this isn't even bringing up all the guitarcade games on here to help us guitar NooBs get better.

You can like or dislike this game all you want... just quit your fucking TROLLING!! For somebody like me who wanted to learn to play but cant afford an instructor on a regular basis, this is great.. I first started just looking up tabs online but quickly got bored with it, this game makes learning fun which is what I was looking for.. will I be able to play through fire and flames after completing it, NO! but thats not the damn point is it!?. the game was made for beginers to have fun learning.

I have huge fat fingers myself and I have no problem playing guitar. It just takes time getting used to it. If your thinking about getting it, try a Epiphone guitar. They have wide necks. Fender is a bit slimmer. Remember you are playing with a real guitar so it just depends on what type of guitar you own.

@TheSugargliderkid Actually rhoads was way better than Iommi. Iommi may have been a start in heavy metal, but rhoads knew his theory a whole lot more. Iommi knew the basics, but rhoads was a master in his guitar work, Especially since the fact that he was classically trained. Mustaine is not as good as page but he knew how to play. Friedman is amazing. kurt may have changed the guitar sound, but the change was metal. The 90s, especially nirvana caused the end to guitar solos.

Wow. This is complete garbage. Here's why:

1.) It tells you to fret notes right in the middle of the fret, instead of close to the fret where you get better projection & sustain. This essentially teaches bad fretting technique right off the bat.

2.) When the game tells you to fret & pluck a note, it neglects to mention good fretting technique. It doesn't say that you should have a double curve in your fretting finger, which often leads to beginners flattening their fingers while pressing down on the fret. Again, teaches bad fretting technique right off the bat.

3.) "The beginner tutorial teaches you everything you need to know to get started over here" - False. From what was shown up to that point in the video, absolutely not. The 2 things I mentioned above are the most common "self-taught" bad habits that can be a pain in the ass to fix.

4.) Ugh, just thought about how a virtual crowd will cheer you on even if you make a note sound out via faulty execution. You can play the "Satisfaction" riff with your pinky toe. What happens when the bad habits this game ignores carry over to more advanced material?

@risingsorrow im a guitarist, and i think that this is a great way for beginners to learn basics of guitar. also, getting ''the feel'' of the guitar is important, and you wont get it without playing. i remember when i was a beginner, practising was pretty annoying etc, but with this game it, it might be alot more fun! im going to buy this game and see what is looks like. might even learn more songs! but basically im getting it so my friends can try to play ''real guitar''.

@xboxnissan This game has you playing tabs, has instructional videos, and I would imagine it has some basic lessons. The game just makes it a little more fun, and gives incentive for people to come back to it if they feel discouraged. If you look at the track list, you'll see this is definitely not someone going from proficient to Steve Vai, this is people going from main riff of Smoke on the Water to knowing a few techniques, and songs.
